Why never play her again?

It's funny that the Krogan Engineer is basically the ME3 Human Engineer: Turret, Overload, Incinerate.

Too bad about Turret being terrible in this game.

How do we know if a Krogan is female? On a side note does elemental debuff work with Naladen? Assuming it does fire damage.

I really like the KroEngi in spite of, rather than because of, her collection of powers. She's really kind of a mess in terms of design. Turret doesn't make a lot of sense on her, Rage doesn't make a lot of sense on her. But as others have said, she's the closest we're getting to the old HEngi, and that was one of my favs in 3.

Also, Elemental Tech increases weapon damage by 35%, provided the weapon's source is ammo boostered.

Just started tooling around with the HEngi; I think I'm doing something wrong with cryo beam.  It seems to take a long time to freeze anything, and its anti-armor damage feels underwhelming.  At what degree of exposure are the targets primed?

On paper it does. But unlike other melee builds, there is no bonus +Melee% passives/actives to get. There's no DR, there's no real added mobility. The regen will not save you even from a handful of Outlaws pew pewing you from their classroom desks.

The big pro of the Krogan Engineer to me is that she can set off both Tech and Fire combos herself, depending upon what order she uses her powers in.

Tech Combos are clearly the best in the game (stun, stun, and more stun) but the Fire Combo's massive size and purported anti-armor properties are situationally useful.

Also because Krogan Engineer has two detonator powers, she is very good when teamed up with an Annihilation Field or Stasis user. In that situation Krogan Engineer can space out her usage of Overload, then Incinerate, to repeatedly trigger Biotic Combos. Human Engineer cannot do this because he has only one detonator.

Note: yes of course combos in this game suck compared to ME3MP, but we have to work with the tools we're given.

Cryo Trap is arguably what makes it shine, particularly on certain maps.  I usually hose down one enemy close, and then paint the floor and cover all over an approach that enemies are headed down.  Trap chills/freezes things fairly quickly once they move into it.  The HEngi is arguably the king of crowd control used well.  Particularly useful on some objectives too, like a Hack or Upload being able to lock down one approach. 



They fucked up Krogan regen.  It has a CD between taking damage, so it can't actually help you tank out any damage, since you need to be not taking damage for it to work, which means you're stuck behind cover or hiding to get your shields back just so your health can regen slowly.
