Even the standard character models look better. There's better textures even with the holograms like the one on the tempest where you do research, AVP, and strikes. The cutscene flying into the nexus is also different now.

Ultimately, these patches are good to have, but the game should have never been released the state it was in. I'm not thankful at all, they're not providing me with extra content for me to be thankful for. There is no dlc or extra side content for me to be happy about. They are fixing a game they released broken, thus, doing their jobs. It's the bare minimum. Sorry for being a downer, but it confuses me how people are thanking Bioware like they've done some huge favor for everybody. You'll find I agree it shouldn't have been here since launch, but you're being naive. i myself will thank them so long as they continue working on these fixes. You ask why people should be thankful yes? It's far better they work on it rather than ignoring them. There are various devs who do the "bare minimum" as you put it. If you think this is the minimum you are absolutely wrong. Look at how 343 go about their games post launch. MCC itself has a dead population because of a lack of dev support post launch and it's been 3 years. Halo 5 still has a page the fans on their forums put up listing all the bugs since day one and it's nearing two years of ageI'm talking about spawning inside objects where you're completely stuck, spawning outside of maps, random shit happening entirely. Then look at The Coalition with their gears franchise. You have people asking for features and fixes since day one as well and the game has been out 6 months. There's still stuff missing that was present in previous games. Point is theres res various ways to grade a dev on post launch support, and post launch support is needed regardless what anyone thinks. Bugs are a natural part of games, it'd be ignorant of one to say otherwise as there's no such thing. I share the sentiment that Andromeda has far to many than expected, and even has certain bugs that shouldn't have been there on launch, but shit happens. Even then it's not the worst game I've dealt with technical wise. What really matters is how bioware acts on these issues and how fast they get on them. They announced they had a day one patch and was also working on future patches prior to that. They know it has issues so they're acknowledging them at least, which is literally more than certain devs out their. So I'm afraid I can't agree when you say it's their job to do so or that it's the bare minimum, there's far worse out there if you think that's the case. I'll emphasize the MCC once again, dead population, 3 years and no dev acknowledgement, not to mention it's a franchise 3x times the size of mass effect and has far more influence, one you'd expect them to get to work on right away because of its fanbase and popularity. another outlandish comment I see is "they'll make more bugs patching this game". Have you ever looked into how patches and game development work? Codes break when you out more codes in or you interfere with others. It's again, a natural part of game development and one that is going to happen no matter what. Depending on the dev, the time to get them worked out varies. its fine to have the stance "this shouldn't have been there at launch" as I too have that stance. But I'm also reasonable and I also have a basic idea on that level of coding and game development. There's also the fact there's various sources all over the internet proving my point on the matter. im going to be thankful that they're even doing something, cuz believe it or not, they don't actually "have" to. They could easily just drop this game right here right now and move on. Regardless of biowares dropping quality, I still think they're one of the best devs on fan feedback and acting on them, there's far worse out there.

Good thing this is my favorite Mass Effect game. I'll gladly play it again, and then a third time after dlc.

I was eager to restart my NG+, knowing that the horrors on the Nexus were likely among those fixed. I can't connect to the EA servers, though. I assume they are down. I'm not starting without importing my face I've worked to perfection. Sigh. Yeah I'm eager to see what kind of difference it makes for my character. Damn I wish I finished already so I can go from the beginning. It made my initial character look worse, since I'd customized her on around the old parameters. (I used scan #1, for the curious.) I expect that we'll get better results, though, building from the ground up. The eyes look significantly better, as do some facial animations. I could swear that some textures aboard Tempest, specifically in the two labs, look much better. I'm playing on PS4, and parts of those rooms look much more clear and vibrant, now. The AI crew outfits were immediately noticeable, as were some weapon-stat adjustments. I just connected to the EA server, so I'm online!

Same here. Or, it starts, but it's just black, and not covering the whole screen. Then nothing happens, and I have to Alt+Tab out. It always has to be something... Tried this? Thanks, tried that now. Unfortunately, it didn't work...

I'm glad they listened to me. I'M THE ONE WHO SUGGESTED THEY DID THIS! Seriously, I can't believe they did not spot this issue before it came out and if they did know it, how come it couldn't be fixed 2 weeks prior to launch? That's like asking why couldn't they have completed the game and released it two years prior to launch. It takes time and they did not have it.
One would assume EA made them release it unfinished. You don't develop a patch this extensive in 2 weeks. They released an unfinished game while they continued developing it. Must be some quarterly earnings report type bullshit on EA's side to not give them an extra 2-3 weeks.

Lol what's with the [Num] in the dialogue option, lazy and distracting. But it's nice to have the keyboard option. Skipping the planet scenes could go smoother but at least it's finally here, gonna scan some systems for real now.

Lol what's with the [Num] in the dialogue option, lazy and distracting. But it's nice to have the keyboard option. Skipping the planet scenes could go smoother but at least it's finally here, gonna scan some systems for real now. It's the key bindings for the dialogue choices, no clue why they suddenly display them... I just cleared the dialogue bindings all together. All in all, I don't see much improvement... the first raider camp I tested on Kadara did go into idle/invincible mode right away. The eyes do look a bit better - but I think they mostly made them a bit darker and reduced random eye movement. Codex, journal and inventory glitches are still more or less the same. Skipping space flight only jumps over the approach animation, not travel between systems, and it uses the TAB key for some reason. It's a start, I guess...

The eyes are better, but i think they still stick out on humans with darker skin color. I'm glad they added sepparate Motion Blur and DoF settings. Zooming into Nexus animation has also been fixed.
