Tangentially, there was a jerk of a history teacher during seventh grade who didn't believe me when I told him my father was an unknown entity, and thought I was just saying it to get out of half of a family tree assignment. For a sensitive kid who was extra sensitive about not having a dad, it made quite an impression. If you used the term "unknown entity" I wouldn't blame him.

The whiteboard part makes it sound remedial for a Grade 11. She looks like she has maybe a grade 8 or 9 reading level.

After consultation it appears more likely to be closer to Grade 7.

If you used the term "unknown entity" I wouldn't blame him. I did not use that term. For what it's worth, I'm sure your biological father enjoyed screwing your mom. When I had to do my family tree thing, I got called out for hand-drawing my relatives (which were not good) rather than bringing in pictures.

Here's one:
One time, a teacher had us grade our classmate's quizzes in class.
So, being the little bastard that I was, I put a bit of flavor into it.
Rather than just cross out an incorrect answer like so:
X
I added some extra decoration to clarify the wrong-ness:
WRONG WRONG WRONG XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX WRONG WRONG WRONG

I remember her getting annoyed with somebody who put smiley faces inside the zeroes in "100%". I can't remember if we ever had issues with people being "colorful" in how they marked something wrong. The most creative marking method I experienced came from a Latin teacher who, if you handed in an assignment only partly complete, so that there was just blank space under the sentences he gave us to translate, would not only circle the space where each word should have been, but would make sure that the circles were the size of the words that should have been there.

I've been told I'm a mean teacher. Some lessons are difficult. Yet, these need to be taught.

I had a student who really struggled with enunciating Cherokee words and to be fair some of them really are just grunts and mumbles and she hated to be called on when we would do the group sentences on the whiteboard. In private I told her to hold her nose with her hand and say the words that were giving her trouble and they sounded correct when she did that, but asking a 16 year old girl to get in front of her peers and read a sentence in a foreign language while holding her nose with one hand isn't going to happen, so for the next few weeks I just started doing it at random on certain words that I suspected would give her and other students trouble and eventually one of the more easygoing students decided to try it too while he was answering a few questions out of the homework assignment and after a few weeks everyone in the class was doing it with the trickier words and it became a 'normal' thing to do.
I guess this is just a random story but reading the thread reminded me of her and the nose holding stuff that caught on lol.

I had a math teacher that took point off my homework for doing to much work and for giving the answer of the problem instead of giving the number of answers I could from the equation. Her problems were weirdly worded and confusing too.

I had to consult with someone about it first.
