TW III I'm well aware Geralt has two love interests. I did a bit of reading up about these two in 1 & 2 in order to determine which one Geralt loves. I think he loves the two but he can only go with one; according to the TW3 romance guide. Sorry, no threesome. It's going to be Yennifer. While I don't blame Triss but Geralt didn't have all his marbles initially during his time with her. Pretty sure he forgave her and love her. Still... *shrug* So I'm proceeding pretty cautiously with Triss. During the conversation with Dijkstra, I was caught between officially stating Geralt and Triss's relationship was in the past to just saying Dijkstra just wanted to use them both. I ended with the latter and Triss's response was a mix of relief? Hope? Practical acceptance? I think Skellige is this world's version of Vikings. I decided to take ship there because two quests roamed over to that zone and I didn't have it open. It's annoying to have the two sticking out like a sore thumb in the journal so I took ship. One of the main quests is Yennifer waiting for Geralt in that zone but I didn't visit her since I still have unfinished main quests in Novinguard (sp?) Met Lambert. At the conclusion of the quest, I can't decide whether Karadin is lying. It's just too pat, waiting for Geralt and Lambert, his family on display. But then there's his letter to Hammond, cutting off all ties but recommending that Hammond could contact other merchants regards his business. That doesn't mean anything however. He's living under another name now, he could be this other merchant who deals with Hammond in slaves. I left Karadin alive. Lambert could kill him another day if he wants to, he knows where Karadin lives.

TW III This game is confusing as f*** where quests are concerned. I didn't do any SQ in Skellige as I want to finish up those in Novgurd. I completed a SQ in which I killed the giant spider or whatever it is which killed the villager's brother. The journal then pop up a notification that I should check development at a place in Skellige. WTF? What's going on? I did nothing over there. What development? I'm also doing some of the main quests. As I got on my way to do Junior Whoreson, the journal tells me I fail one other quest which was to talk to Cleaver. I got the impression I got two routes to choose and I went one way. Fair enough I failed the other. I then went to do Triss's personal SQ and the journal tells me I fail the Collect Them All which I gather is about gwent cards that I don't give a fig about. I feel I'm muddling about regards the SQs because some of the main spawns the SQs. I get the feeling some of them will fail if I do them a certain way and completely miss the marker on something important. I wish they push the bloody fist fights, races and gwent s**** in another category because they make the list of SQs a mess. Or at least an ability to disable them from showing because they're not important, just filler to get some rewards or something. Edit. To add. Some events and the jump grab are horribly contrived and terrible. Like when Ciri rescued Dudu. She can get in through the window but cannot climb out through it? It's hardly that high and there's a box she can step on. Sorry no, you must run downstairs and do the fight which can be avoided. Too, script said Ciri was injured, got a cut to her back. "hooray" Presently doing the Play and Geralt has to deliver the script. The doorman wants 50 gold. You bugger, 50 just to get in with nothing to see? I went the back way and spent 10 mins rolling around on the steep roof before managing to jump to the short pillar and over the bloody wall. Again, the wall next to the roof is not high. Geralt only has to jump a bit and grab on the ledge but no, sorry.

I think you are suffering a bit from not playing the two earlier games, they give you a feel for how the games play out quest wise etc. and also a character history to help you make choices like Triss/Yennifer. I play it two ways, either just do main quests or don't worry about the journal, just clear the map section by section. I don't remember that there are many quests you can stuff up or fail by completing the end part first, most of those you can clear the "?" but if there is a plot thing there for later the creature or people just wont spawn. The "FAIL" thing I hate as it usually doesn't mean you failed it as you noted. It's a great game but there are a lot of tedious aspects to it. The upgrading and crafting of armour was one for me and unlocking the right Blacksmiths. Yeah still discovering some of those issues in ACOD where you can climb a wall on the way in but not out or where Kass refuses to climb yet the way ahaead is easier than where she climbed up!!!!! Also ACOD houses without doors you can open or that just don't have them!!!!

Also ACOD houses without doors you can open or that just don't have them!!!! haha, no, not going to play the first two to get the feel for it. I feel no attachment to the chars even after 51 hours of play. They're interesting but there's no motivation to play the first two to get more involved with them. If, by what you said, the quests design are the same, all the more I'm not going to bother with the first two. I'm presently relying on the guides so as to avoid triggering a failed SQ that could be important in the list. I went treasure hunting and tried to get the wolf gear only to find I cannot get to the Witcher stronghold zone. I looked it up and it's a boo boo on the devs' part. Read too they wrote a public apology for the FU. I ended up with the griffin gear. Because I used god mode, I'm able to make the enhanced griffin gear. Just as well I used god mode because it makes moving around the zone easier and faster; get out of my way for the effin 5th time you respawned mobs. If the combat is enjoyable, I wouldn't be using god mode. Sadly, it isn't. I did dabble with 1 and 2. I know in the first Geralt was found injured and brought back to the castle and Triss was there. He couldn't remember anything. I stopped playing just before he was to enter the city because I lost interest. There were a lot of loading screens and as what's happening now, I have issues with the combat. Some would say combat in the Witcher series is easier than Kingdom Come Deliverance where it's seriously more complicated and problematic because the devs were going for realistic swordplay. If you're going for a full plated guy, you can't use your sword. You have to use a blunt weapon or aim for the vulnerable spots / joints. When facing three, be smart and put your back against a tree or something to prevent someone from coming at you from the back. And yet I found KCD combat fun and challenging despite the difficulties. *shrug* I do know Yennifer was Geralt's gf before he lost his memories. Triss came later. To me, he would stay with Yennifer despite his feelings for Triss. And yes, I know she made used of him because he mentioned it in a dialogue. It's water under the bridge, he said. He forgave her. The scene of the farewell with Triss was nicely crafted. The emotions are all there. I don't know about the doors but I do sometimes have issues when Kass drops instead of climbing over when traversing hills / boulders. Sometimes she cannot climb up and I would be going; why can't you climb? until I saw that there're no protrusions or cracks or anything in the wall that she could hold on to. Which is logical. She's not a spider or a lizard though she's near one. Still, let's compare TW III to AC I. Altaïr Ibn-LaʼAhad is a better climber than anybody in TW III.

I enjoyed the game quite a bit but while in Novigrad something happened to piss me off so much I almost quit playing. Be careful what you read in the journal and the codex because for some dumbass reason, the game puts spoilers there for quests that are completed or that it thinks you have done a certain way. I was so furious at being spoiled that I didn't play for several days, then ended up going back to replay the quest I'd screwed up because I couldn't knowingly leave it the way it was. There was another spoiler later on for a main quest mini-mission. This may not bother you since you are using guides already but I went in blind and did my best to avoid spoilers. I looked up possible outcomes for a few things because, imo, all the choices sucked so I wanted to pick the least sucky one.

More Pathfinder Kingmaker today. Stuff happened (wheee!) , I got mad but over all a fairly decent time with a nice end. Longer version in spoilers + big spoilers + language. You've been warned. Scouted Vordakai's digs and found some golems and killed them. Eventually. It was not worth the effort. Then killed the nasty bird once more, with even less grace than last time. Amiri ended up paralyzed and I had no way of dispelling it so had to listen to her painful groans as the party rummaged around, stuffing their pockets with the last loot and throwing urns on the ground. Crawl home and everything has gone to shit. Someone is raising hell at the Candlemere and barbarians are at the gate. My dearest Amiri and my less dearer Kassil abandon me as well. Ended up googling which path to take (or well, pros and cons) since I'm out of damns to give and decide to deal with the gates. Grab Regongar and Octavia instead of the traitors and head out to battle. Get to play Amiri again and redo her stealth mission over and over and over and over. Part of it was because I forgot I had invisibility potions so the failed attempts at sneaking were pointless. Rest were because frig you and your cutscene glory I'm cheesing you with the Heart of Ira you nincompoop. Eventually got to play the party of Kaira again. Storming the gates went fine. Or well, the second try, since just running through the battlefield with squishy waifs is pretty stupid in hindsight. Then loot! Glorious loot! And all for me. That dealt with we decide to look for Tristian because the adviser system in this game is whack. Don't tell me the people would not accept that cute corgi in the throne room as my Councillor! His loyalty skill would be over 9000 points and then some! Go to the Candlemere and find our buddy boo has been murdered. Alas what ever your name was, our friendship was not meant to be. Then to the Temple of the Elk. Yay. And into the Bloom into a Wild Magic zone. Yay. Luckily it was just a small stretch because I quite dislike Wild Magic zones. Falling cows are not funny >:C And spell failures are annoying when half the teams combat power is basically build around them succeeding. Then dungeon crawling with traps galore. Didn't really explore the place thoroughly since I was getting a bit steamed over the whole thing. Did find the faceless sister I showed mercy to in the tomb and ended up giving her hope for the future. The other sister could go screw herself on the other hand. Was absolutely raging at her until I realized she was actually a massive wimp. So just lured her buddies into the hall, murdered her gnomes with swords and her golems with acid and then it was just the waiting game. You can drain my dex but not much more and eventually someone is going to get up and smack you across the face! Then it was time to choose what to do with Tristian. Like I had a choice in the first place, since he's the only Councillor I can get in the game at this point...Rahr. Although tbh I didn't really feel betrayed by him, certainly nowhere near the level Amiri and Octavia were feeling. It just rustles my jimmies that if I was feeling betrayed, the game really pulled a dirty one on me when it comes to having advisers. Also dude, you just go a massive disability which should severely hamper your navigation skills, and you're walking home? Like I get you want to be alone, but dude your going to get lost, or worse. Just let us escort you back to the city man! Anyways, was happy to find out we were actually in the Verdant chamber and could beat the snot out of the critters outside. Taste my fury you dirty little garden gnomes! Another moment of happiness was Jhod calling Tristian a dunce. The way he said it was too good. Took a break there because I was absolutely livid at that point. First draft was pretty much just curse words upon curse words. Cooled off and started again. Finally dealt with the golem's bugging the dwarves in Harrim's companion quest. It's been like a year or something but they still seemed to be fine and dandy so...Dwarven Constitution. Visited Amiri's friend and then made Amiri dunk her head into the river. Too bad she can't breathe under water so no juicy visions for us. Although the option of just letting her drown was slightly tempting... Could you NOT go on drunken adventure when you are in the middle of containing a shit faced giant you melancholy fool? And there were like 3 days left before that mission was finished...So yeah Ekun got the stink eye. And then he got sympathy because the funeral was sad and he needs a better therapist. Dear lord the city has grown. And how the heck do I get out of it?! Eventually did find the exit, but it took a while. Also got a library now. Wonder how many of the backers got far enough in the game to see their names... Linzie's companion quest made me smile because that Mite was a cutie. Also, get dunked. Waffled around the hills for a while. Did finish the library portion of looking for that blokes tomb, but had nobody open to do the other bit and did spoil myself that things were on a timer. Which annoyed me so ended up also spoiling where the tomb was and how much perception was needed to spot it. The tomb itself was fine. Had to leave before the final fight because no rations to munch on and everyone was half dead. But the fight went surprisingly well. Okbo is such a frigging beast when it comes to making people fall over. The bestest of boys. Fraternizing with the barbarian. Granted it was the brotherly sort but the option did make me take a double take. Did take it since I'm a sucker for sob stories and ignoring dead people is easy in video games. Then ended the session outside. Surrounded by friendly barbarians. Which will be a nice place to pop in tomorrow.

Welcome to the world of The Witcher!!!! FYI The City is Novigrad and yes Quests can be all over the place. She's not a spider or a lizard though she's near one. Still, let's compare TW III to AC I. Altaïr Ibn-LaʼAhad is a better climber than anybody in TW III. I think playing the first two gives you a lot more context for the third game although in terms of decisions mattering a lot don't but in terms of character history I think its important. In terms of quests and combat, quests are fewer and more structured but you get a feel for the style and pacing from the first two games that I think makes TW3 easier in that regard. Combat is actually simpler in TW1, two different swords as usual and a quick and heavy style depending on the monsters. Signs are signs but alchemy is a bit more of a pain IIRC. TW2 combat is randomly challenging but I enjoyed it overall, probably more than the other two games but there is a lot of "rolling". The two stories are fun for different reasons and the characters are interesting and give important and interesting context, background to TW3. Kass/Alexios often for me are climbing and have just covered an area that I'd say would be difficult for a professional rock-climber only to get to a bit where I'd consider it easy for an amateur and yet they just stop and I have to move a single hand hold left or right. In the city its incomprehensible some of the things they cannot climb compared to those they can. Historically Connor was a beast when it came to climbing.

If anything, that sudden notification that appeared without reason was an indication that certain quests could possibly be failed unknowingly so I went to guides after that. I don't care about being spoiled. I do care about sudden unpleasant unexpected developments while I'm wandering around, doing quests and such, and it's not even my fault, just the way the quests are structured. ****** Since Triss has left, I have to give the crystal to Yen instead of handing to Radovid. I don't know this char but I've seen enough to know he's a bad ruler so no way I'm going to help him any. I did the main quest on Skelige and Yen's SQ which then reminded me about the wish. I chose to cement the relationship. After that, I was able to give the crystal to Yen. Presently doing the deadly plot and this has to be the most hilarious tracking quest ever. geralt said there was a scuffle, the spy's shoes were on the ground. Okaay, so I followed. Here's a shoe, oh there's another shoe. Another one. And another one and another one. The trail goes on. How many shoes was this spy carrying?

Has anyone played "Oxenfree"? I started it up the other day and discovered that apparently when a dialogue choice appears, the other characters will just keep talking if you don't jump in quickly enough, and I decided I'd better start over so that I can pay closer attention knowing that it won't "pause" for my brain to catch up to what they're talking about. Just wondering if anyone who's played it would recommend jumping into the conversation wherever possible or staying quiet most of the time.

Did you get to the end of the shoe trail and find out the spy new vocation? He's a character from TW1.

Mowed virtual grass in House Flipper and realized that moles are really huge and scary and it's good they don't live here. Especially since they can run through walls and lord knows where it's hiding now...

The other characters can sometimes take silence as tacitly agreeing/disagreeing with them. They might be offended, upset, etc, or even think you are ignoring them. I agree it's hard to make a choice so quickly sometimes but it seemed that staying involved in the conversations usually led to better results.

So limited gaming in ACOD last few days, finished Keos, killed a cultist and the number one Mercenary on Delos and then moved to Mykonos to open up Fast Travel points. Then back to Athens. {ic of the day:

TW III
Struggling with boat and diving bugs in Skellige. I'm sure those who played this game know what I'm talking about. It's fortunate this game is optimized so reloading is a breeze. I did the Moving Tower without picking up the quest so I was surprised when Geralt was thrown out in midair into the sea to find the villagers waiting for him.
Explored the island and came across an old man who spoke of trials. One was to dive in the cave, the other was to climb to the peak. Unfortunately, I found the cave earlier and went back and forth twice, exploring. So the prospect of going back in there a third time is a zzzzz. Sorry old guy, not going to do it. Went to the peak instead to get rid of the ?
Found the ruins of a Keep, the prison and two relatively fresh corpses of foreigners. They sure aren't locals from their clothes. Seeing them made me suspicious of the old man because he spoke of the island not having foreigners, then when they come, they stayed. Was he referring to these two? Did he have something to do with their deaths because I doubt they would imprison themselves down there. Somebody did it.

Last night, in Rage 1, I upgraded everything on my buggy except the boost amount. I started doing some side missions as well, to see about upgrading my weapons as much as possible. I also got the mission for the next car, but I haven't pursued it yet. I want to buy all the weapon upgrades first, then work on that last car upgrade.

TW III I'm giving up the ? sprinkled so generously like salt around the ocean at Skellige. It's one pirate stash after another. Geralt is already way over level by the time he went to Skellige so swords and armour are generally decon. I ended up picking up the mats and gold and ignoring the rest. I finished one side and more opened at the bottom. Ok, I'm done. Unless an important quest stated a journey / location is at the ocean, I'm not going to sail around any more. I spent more than three hours, four hours of that. I've enough. Did a lighthouse contract quest at a clan Drummond village and found two obnoxious snots starting a fight. Geralt ended up thrown in prison. I went to look up this quest and reloaded an earlier save. Nah, I don't want to help the vaarl's son. Clan Drummond can sux it since they're so hostile. Went to do a low level quest that entailed getting back a sword. The sword travelled all over the place, courtesy of the thieves. When I finally got it and went to turn in the quest, the bloody NPC was on guard duty on top of a small gatehouse with no ladder I could see. Since it was early morning, I thought he would go off duty in the evening so I meditated till 9 pm. He's still at the top of the gatehouse! Ok, ok, maybe your shift is more than 12 hours. Meditate till 9 am. He's still at the gatehouse! Ok bud, you know what, I'm going to sell your sword.

I didn't like the way that quest started (the whole "end up prison because other people are obnoxious but you can get out of jail free if you help my kid" trope) but the quest it leads to is pretty cool. It was kind of a short snippet Witcher version of the Nightmare's realm in DAI, except you actually get to fight everyone's fears instead of see tombstones about them.

If they did that, Solas's game would be blown wide open. Huge reveal and a full on fracas. We wouldn't have the surprising twist at the end. I like what they did with the spiders though. I'm not continuing that quest regards Geralt. It's a contract and of little matter.

It was one of things I actually really liked about the TW3 quests how they'd nest one thing within another that and it often kept me going in quests even if just for the hope of the surprise twist etc.

So yesterday finished the return trip to Athens and gave Aspasia a bit of a smackdown for getting Phoibe killed. Then took her to Naxos to find Phoenix (I love how they pronounce it their Greek accents) and to reunite with Myrinne. I really like how they did that scene, it could have been really over done, I think they found a nice balance. Anyway if I ever find myself in Greece I have determined to go to Naxos it looks like a lovely island. Then just went round the island clearing "?" and completing whatever was there. I may just be forgetting but I have no memories of killing guards whilst fishing before. Yesterday they seemed to be all over Naxos and I killed quite a few. Killed some animals, stumbled on Red Skull Merc. who every time I got him down to 99% dead would miraculously kill me with his spear even though I was way out of his reach. After 3 attempts I got into position to hit him with RA, then HS, then FoTB and then used that specialty tactic of running away to set up another RA which worked. Then started doing the missions for Myrinne/Aspasia and took down the cultist guards, next to recue Myrinne Naval commander and reduce Praxos nation power. Some Pic's Poor Old Perikles "Requiescat in pace" Hi Mum The God of Wine, you'd think she'd look happier: From a distance it looked like the kids were playing with the crab but they were just doing there normal animations: Bit of underwater exploration and treasure hunting

TW III That stupid oaf is still stuck at the gatehouse. Fine, not turning in his quest. At Skellige, Cerys became queen. Yay. Got rid of the wolf in the garden. The priestess was surprisingly cordial when Geralt turned in the quest. I looked at the rest of the SQs, one is the glitched sword quest, the other given by a bounty hunter I'll call Boba Fett because his name sure sounds like it. Clearly the devs couldn't resist Star Wars. It's about some brothers and their location indicate they're in the mountain ranges. I've no love for Skellige's mountain ranges though they look lovely. They keep snowboarding Geralt so I'm not going to climb all over the place looking for those brothers. Game crashed while I was transiting to Velen. Went on to Ugly Baby and picked up Umma. Went to the witcher fortress and had a conversation where the older witcher said Yen threw out the oak bed. That raised some eyebrows until Geralt remarked Triss liked that bed. ... oh.

TW III Didn't watch that vid because I'm thinking of a second PT and choose Triss next. Presently in castle and having drinks with the other witchers. Interesting they remarked on Yen's treatment of Geralt. Likely true. Suggested cards and this statement on the King of Temeria card; It is natural and beautiful that a man should love his sister. um...what? That line makes me Is it unnatural to love family members or is Foltest implying something else? ... I'd not think of that.

Ready for the screenshot dump? Practicing A/A refueling on the training server. It's just so beautiful, would you not screenshot this? Taxiing to runway with I think Ford 3-1. The Harrier up front took a Sidewinder in a 2v2 air combat maneuvering. I flew close, gave the man a damage assessment, told him his fuel's gonna be gone in a few minutes, someone else on the radio said he should punch out and I reported he had good chute. End of that story... Remind you of something? (In fact I was completely out of ammo and wondering how the heck they could keep flying after all the hits taken, but anyone who manages to land that deserves to stay alive.) Scrambling in pitch darkness for one mission or another. Hard to tell what, since I can't see the Stores page and neither A/A nor A/G is active... This one was nice though. Kindly open your Google Maps on the Caucasus region. This screenshot was taken after RTB on Krasnodar Center. That is the airport in the middle of Krasnodar ( map). So, I took off from homebase and flew for about 100 nautical miles (185km or thereabouts) into the area of Stavropol ( map) where I met a KC-135 tanker to refuel. Now I had a grand total of 12 A/A missiles so I turned south to Minvody/Nalchik/Mozdok/Beslan area ( map) to provide Combat Air Patrol. Five confirmed and one probable later, Betty started Bitching about Bingo. It was time to go back to the tankers, and the missiles were all spent anyway. Oh, did I mention that the AO was another roughly 100nm away from the tankers? They were nice and safe. For a change... So I went back to them, refueled a little bit (I only needed enough to get back to Krasnodar Center, so I figured five thousand pounds of gas was more than enough) and made my way back home. An uneventful landing later, I just taxied back to the shelter and took the screenshot on aircraft shutdown... Most of the time I travelled at about 590kts TAS (Mach .97 or so) which makes it 590nm/hour. This means that I spent about 20 minutes flying to the AO, another 20 with the tankers, at least 20 in the AO racking up the killcount and then 20 minutes flying back home. It makes for at least hour twenty minutes of stick time when you do the math, but in reality it was a lot closer to hour forty five. Couldn't have done such a long flight (without going economic - that was 400nm travel combined with at least 50-80nm flying in a fighting configuration) without the tankers. Pretty happy I got the hang of A/A refuel.
