Been playing a few games for the last few days. Mostly been playing Assassins Creed Odyssey. Mostly Legacy of the First Blade with some accompanying venting/whining and massive spoilers as well. So got my arse in gear and continued whittling down the legacy of the First Blade with Kassandra. Turned out Ikaros was a star and did tell me where the salvage I was looking for was, I'd just been looking for it in the completely wrong place. Hehe.
So continued on with the story. Was a bit disappointed that you couldn't try and save the old guy. Not that I didn't much care for the refugees and wouldn't have minded screwing them over, just leave no old man left behind?
Either way ended up being forced to defend the lot, which meant ship combat. Yay. Luckily there were are also pirates around who hated the order more than me and carried me through both fights. So sometimes, pirates are good.
Then there was a battle on the beach. Did like how the cutscene turned out the first time around, but was less impressed with how she obliterated me in the combat afterwards. Chose differently the second time around and was pretty disappointed, but survived the fight and there isn't going to be a third time okay?
Said Bye to Natakas but he didn't get the hint (and neither did Kass for that matter) so I was forced to watch some sort of family building scenario thingy. Bleh.
Then there was a cutesy fetch quest which turned out to be not that cute since the kid was still a baby and not a six year old like I'd been picturing. And since the little twat doesn't seem to have developed past gurgles I'm guessing he's younger than a year old and in no way developed enough to handle goat milk >:C Further proved by his look, since he looked severely malnourished body wise, or they bound him so tight they fractured his little baby skeleton and crushed his innards. Not sure which is worse.
Then found out why I couldn't save the old guy. Okay cool, but I'd have gone after him either way...
Then they tried feeding the kid shellfish. >:C Well guess he's not allergic.
Then this cutesy nightmare was over and lovely fire and blood returned. Along with a big fight with two feckers which ended that particular session. --- Then picked up the session today and won the feckers on the third try. Turned out that Fury of the Bloodline was the key, along with the press R attack and generous amount of rolling and desperately tossing arrows around. Good times.
I'm not going to say that I didn't want the guy to die. Because that would be a lie. But I do feel a bit bad about disliking him so much, since he is hella cute and maybe if I hadn't met Brasidas, Alkibiades, Elpinor or pretty much any other male in the game I might have been into him. Or heck just if I was playing someone other than Kassandra. At least the kid is in better hands now, until Kass mucks it up.
Did the helot quest and told the children to bugger off because the crying was pathetic. And found yet another cutie I had to brutally murder. Such is life. Dealt with the Kosmos fellow. And his friends and co-workers for good measure. Then saved a general who punished me by giving me oodles of ship combat missions. Which hahahaha no.
So loaded up Alexios save and went through Perikles party.
Got the fellow drunk and had a kareokee session with him. Gave Loverboy his oil but let him face the goat alone. Talked to Sokrates and got Despacito back on my mind when Aspasia entered. Why I have no idea.
Then ended the party and spent most of the session moseying around Athens. This time I actually did Sokrates quests instead of pointedly ignoring them. They were pretty fun and the man is growing on me. Like fungus, but still.
Killed the top left branch of the cultists tree and now just need to trim the root of it. So that's fun. Ended the session in Korinth, since I told Phobie that I'd do so and decided not to (unintentionally) lie to her this time around.
So for the most part fun if tad bit annoying. Also gave the Next Big Thing a bit of prodding and regretted disabling hotspots since I keep getting stuck. Then end up brute forcing my way onward because of pride. So it's sort of a like/dislike thing. Also a bit of Sims 4. Just for fun.

Geez Curious Crow, how can you not take Alkibiades up on his offer with the goat!!!!! Re Sokrates, yeah I hated him and his quests first time around but actually really enjoyed him this second PT. I wonder if it because you first meet him in Athens which is a bit overwhelming when you first go there and he is just so damn long winded most of the time?? Yeah I think Kassandra got ripped off with Natakas compared to Alexios getting Neema.

A bit more Witcher today
Gave the potion to Triss and managed to not sleep with her so first goal of the replay accomplished.
After Leo's funeral, parting ways, and arrival cutscenes, killed some barghests, talked with Shani, met Kalkstein the alchemist (I was so disappointed he was killed offscreen in W3), bribed the innkeeper to talk to me, then meditated until dawn. Next day, explored the entire outskirts area to get all the hotspots to show on the map. Beat off some racist thugs harassing Zoltan Chivay, picked a few bushels of Celandine, met with the ever dour reverend, got insulted by a royal huntsman, then headed back to the inn.
Basically, I walked around a lot.

Had a friend from Sweden visiting this week and we played a few VR games, like Robo Recall, Super Hot VR and the likes. One person (mostly her) would wear the headset while the other would watch the mirror on the monitor and spot enemies, give reminders when weapons needed reloading and other more or less useful advice. Was pretty fun actually. Now she's thinking about getting herself an Oculus Quest. Maybe then we'll play some MP. It's funny because she usually wouldn't touch computer games at all. You really have to make people experience VR to make them understand how much fun it is.

dazk He's got people to help him And trying to resist his charms this round as well. Yeah think your onto something about Sokrates. Also you are getting bombarded with plot and names and stuff and he wants you to think as well. Then second time around you know whats up so it's easier to take time and ponder questions with no right answers. Also it seems like the dialog is "Fall into his trap" or "Please stop talking" so your mind is kinda guided towards annoyance as well. ---- Wasted most of today's game time on Sims 4. "Wasted" because I just hit exit instead of save. Granted there is probably some form of autosave that kicked in, but yah know. So more Assassin's Creed Odyssey. Finished the Legacy of the First Blade so there is that. Decided to poke some more at the ship battles with Kass and eventually pulled through. Then got invited to a place with a view with some old man and the disappointment that "Death" did not mean a cool cutscene shank in the gut. Boo. Then Darius and Kassandra caused vandalism. Saw an amazing fight scene between a Athenian general and Spartan guards. Amazing because the man looked bored out of his mind. Like he had the enthusiasm of a child eating through a field of broccoli. Even when he died it seemed like more of a bother than anything. Met three clowns in a mine and laughed at the funny red splatters they made. Then to the temple. And Aspargus was right, the kid was safer with him. Probably getting proper human milk instead of goat and not having his fate tempted by shoving shellfish down his throat. The laughter he was hearing was probably genuine as well. And yes yes if everyone is dead they can't fight. Good plan. Social Services were hard core in Persia. Frig you fire. >:C Luckily second time was charm. Oh hey another guy that looks better than Natakas. And is a better parent than both of them. We truly are the villains this time around... So all in all I found the DLC okay. Or well the fighting bits and the people I killed. The romance wasn't fun because Natakas gave me creeper vibes and refusing his advances was pointless since the auto dialog went straight to pining. Bleh. The kid would have been way better if he was like 3 or 4 years old. Then he'd be able to communicate by more than gurgles, him eating bread and drinking milk would be fine since his guts actually be developed enough to process them, him liking hide and seek would make a lick of sense, Kassandra would have been less of an irresponsible twat for leaving him with Natakas for longer periods and he'd still be young enough that his memory of his parents would still be kinda fuzzy once he grew up. Darius was fine though. Both of them. >:3 Probably not going to bother with the extra quests. Because lazy lazy. But had some sort of fun. Then loaded up Alexios save for a while. Delivered a package for Loverboy but made do with a weapon as a reward and not erm his weapon. Then met up with Anthousa. Co-op mission with Phoibe worked alot better when I actually listened too what she told me. Heh. Brought the other lady back to the city instead of the island like last time. And then met Brasidas. Then next up will be brutal theater I guess? Did the sneaky sneak cave thing last time so time for something different. But all in all had a grand time in his session. And well how could I not with him being a pirate who rides around on a unicorn and pokes people with his stick.

More Witcher.
Completed a quest I missed out on last time because I couldn't find where I was supposed to go. This time, I found the cave where the merchant's friend was killed, then saw I had a dialogue option about it with the reverend, asking to bury him in the chapel. So, I placed the remains in the chapel sarcophagus and who popped up but our dear friend Eredin, King of the Wild Hunt! How Geralt recognized him while having amnesia, I'm not sure, but he did. He basically told him to begone, but when he disappeared a spectre in the shape of Leo appeared, and I had to fight him.
Lit the fires for the reverend and got him to cough up the names of his cronies to go visit.
I picked more bushels of weeds (sold Abigail several hundred Celandine for coin) and completed a couple contracts (barghests and drowners). I can't get into the crypt yet to get ghoul blood for Kalkstein.
I also played dice with Zoltan and some random gambler dude. I won a couple matches after losing a lot to begin with. I think the dice are loaded not in my favor. I decided to save before each match and reload if I lose.
Overall, more killing, less walking this time.

I decided to save before each match and reload if I lose. In the original version of the game, the dice odds were stacked way in your favor and you nearly always won, then in a patch, or possibly in the enhanced edition they reversed it and stacked the odds against you. Not sure why they just couldn't give you the same odds as an actual dice game.

I restarted Mystic Messenger. Then proceeded to forget I had, so the introductory conversation took two hours as I kept forgetting I was in it. Then it was time to go to work and between all those delays, missed 5 conversations. I plan to romance 707 this time, although won't be busted up if I get Jumin. Although he's a tricky one; if you don't balance things just right he'll either push you to suicide or lock you in a cage and call you cat names. Neither of which I'm into. And 707? I've seen one of his sad endings and it hurt, so I'll be careful here too.
Searan/Ray has my heart forever, but I was saving his romance replay for when the friend that introduced me to the game has time to play end of July. A PT is a timed 11 days, so I should have a couple days break before I replay with her trying Saeran/Ray for the first time.
She's a fan of V, but there is nothing appealing about that martyr-ing so hard you become selfish again jerk.
Anyway, I roleplayed as much as I could last time, but feeling kinda lazy about it. So self inserting with a dash of extra silly here and there. Going to make sure I'm as disrespectful to V as one can be, tolerate Jumin, and love on Yoosung with sister like affection. Jaehee will be a friend, I like her character on this route.

OK. I sold my soul to Bethesda and made an account on their fucking website to download a FO4 workshop mod that's not on Nexus.
I feel dirty now.
I refused to do that for 2 years but watching a number of settlement videos by people on console who all use this mod (Unlocked Settlement Objects), who can build way cooler stuff than I can on PC with Nexus mods, triggered me. Always felt like an insult that they get to have this mod that adds pretty much all game assets while I wasn't even getting close with dozens of smaller mods. Grrr.
I thought mixing Nexus mods with Bethesda.net mods was asking for trouble since Bethesda forces their own mod launcher and load order sorting on you that will mess up everything. You can't just manually install mods on their website. You need an account and then activate the mod in the game!
Buuut I learned that there's a workaround: Download and install. Then immediately quit the game, locate the mod esm/esp file in your data folder. Copy it somewhere. Go into the game and uninstall it. Then paste it back in manually and activate it manually or with a proper mod manager. Oh and save your plugins file because Bethesda will completely mess it up...
This way you are not dependent on Bethesda's own shitty system that was designed for consoles but is just bad for PC users.
This particular mod even works with my workshop menu overhaul mod when using a patch. Awesome!
It all worked out without a hitch and now I have ALL THE THINGS!!! My brain almost overloaded last night browsing through a thousand items. Went to bed too late, woke up way too early at 7 with a raging headache...
Good morning, junkie!

AC Syndicate.
I finished some of the associates' quest chain. Clara (street kids), Federick Abberline (police), Henry Green (district control, pressed flowers). There's still Ned (cargo hijack etc) to go. Also finished some memories; Charles Darwin, Charles Dickens (uncertain about this one, I thought there's supposed to be a Jack the Ripper thingy although there's a jack what's his name events that's irritating as h*** because all you do is chase him and he just disappears after some fighting).
Presently locating all the music boxes because I found out it unlocks a Isu cloak in the secret vault. I had thought of not wanting to do it but decided to. It's just as well I play the game this late because I'm pretty sure some players did MTX to buy the Helix in order to get the music boxes locations back when the game launched. Now all I have to do is look up Youtube.
I racked up quite a bit of money and Evie is well geared. A total of 110k pounds so I spent some on treasure maps; the location of chests in each district.

I'm replaying TW1 too, and for the first time I'm leaving Alvin with Shani as well as romancing her. I was surprised that Triss doesn't make more of a fuss about it. It's like one or two lines of angry dialog and then she's back to letting you hang around the house like a vagrant. A bit of a lapse in the writing there. I'm siding with the filthy elves this time around and it's opening up options I hadn't seen before, even after 5 playthroughs. I guess most of the time I go with the Order. I forgot what a pain the limited inventory is so I modded that right away. Also using Rise of the White Wolf mod. In alchemy I'm discovering a few new tricks like consistently going for the secondary effects. This guide I found is really good:

I've been trying for months to come up with a reason to side with the elves this time around and I haven't been able to come with anything story based, especially after reading the books and learning the Scoi'atiel were Nilfgaard patsies the whole time. All I have is "I didn't do it last time," but I don't know if that will be enough, especially considering when I did help them, they screwed me over anyway.
I forgot what a pain the limited inventory is so I modded that right away. I think I have an inventory mod installed too, one that removes stack size limits or something like that.

I actually downloaded a game off the PSN store today. Does that count? Between working a new job, spending time with the wife and pets, and writing . . . I just haven't had any time to game in a while.

In Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, I got up to mission 04. Freed the prisoners, and am trying to figure out how to get to the base commander.
This is def an oldie, but I'm actually quite enjoying it so far. That said, I'm looking forward to seeing how they give you force powers halfway through the game.

That damn chasing Jack was almost the end of me playing Syndicate, it was not my favourite AC game and when that quests started I was ready to stop playing. There is a Jack The Ripper DLC, I actually didn't like it but thought it was really good if that makes sense.

I've been playing Skyrim for the last month or so. If you asked me when I started that Pickpocket would end up being one of my favourite skills I would never have believed you, I hardly ever pickpocket in Fallout for instance. I've almost got my Pickpocket skill to 100 for the second time, I promoted it because it was such an easy skill to level. Problem is I'm running out of NPC's with expensive valuables for faster levelling, I've robbed everyone apparently. Haha.
Also, some Imperial Soldiers were practising Archery, I pickpocketed the guys bow right out of his hands. LOL.

Witcher 1
Just about done with chapter 1, I think. I've taken care of the main quest errands. This time I didn't give the elves the weapons from the hawker - I was quite put out in my first game when they ended up killing a guy I needed to talk to with those very weapons I let them have. So, a bit of meta-gaming going on with that decision this time. I can't remember how to get into Odo's dog's house where he's hiding something and it's bugging me to no end. And for Mikul's dead girlfriend, why can't I talk to Abigail about the potion the girl drank? Ugh, so frustrating sometimes!
I gave the ghoul blood to Kalkstein after saving him from Salamandra thugs, beat Odo a couple more times at dice poker (after much reloading!), and finally went to talk to the reverend to set up the showdown with "the beast." Went to check on Abigail and Alvin but they aren't in her hut anymore.
Only needed one reload while escorting the waitress back home - stupid girl trying to take on 3 barghests with only a dagger.

Mystic Messenger:
I'm on the Jumin/Seven route and doing some self insert rather than roleplay. Picking reasonable answers instead of super silly boy crazy stuff (like swooning at the model mentioning they're going to shower 🤨 )or gunning for one guy or the other (on a route, you're locked into only being available to up to three options.this route is only the two options)
Feel like I'll end up with Jumin, since everyone is so obsessed with implying he's gay on this route. 🤦 I'd forgotten that was the focus of bringing him out of his shell. and I keep telling people to mind their own business pretty much, which is getting me lots of hearts from him.
Yoosung is, sadly, still portrayed as an almost proud to be a depressed video game addict... I can't remember if he breaks out of that silliness on this route or not.
Missed a couple phone calls. While I sleeping off a night shift but they don't actually play a part in the points system so not too worried. I am again reminded of how silly the intro to this game is. You found a phone? Go here, live in this apartment, and volunteer work for us while we intensely befriend you!
