So actually first of all bit of a gaming dilemna...which not sure if anyone will offer their thoughts on this or not, but hey gotta bear my soul out somehow. I mentioned recently that I am a bit *scared* of Anthem. Mainly that I fear like I am almost done with the game and...well bottom line for a live service game there does not seem to be a lot of content in terms of...well any content. It just seems to be centered around free play challenges...which aren't my cup of tea...but there is just little in the way of side quests or main quests. No offense to those that like Anthem but I am surprised you played as long as you did. The demo was enough for me I am still tempted to go back and try it but other than the flying the game did very little for me.

That sounds like a bug. I don't think I've ever had that happen? (and I kill her a lot) Does someone else greet you when you arrive if not Cauthrien I can't remember? I definitely killed her because I have her sword.
I think you just go in if she's not there.
Still working my way through Dandelion's little black book. Discovered he talked to Elihal about Kalkstein. He talked to Vespula(?) about washerwomen at the bath house. He talked with Mirabelle the teacher about fungi (didn't see any info about the bog kids so I guess the Crones got 'em after all). Then on the way to see Rosa var Attre, got distracted by the nearby shopkeeper selling mystery artifacts from one unlucky mage named Aeramus. Bought all the goodies he offered, then challenged him to a gwent match. After losing to 500 spy card stud multiple times, I checked the difficulty and it was set to Normal. So, yay me for so far playing every match on Normal and still winning. Then I changed it back to Easy and beat him first try.
Found the back way into the var Attre estate but won't do that encounter until next time.

No offense to those that like Anthem but I am surprised you played as long as you did. The demo was enough for me I am still tempted to go back and try it but other than the flying the game did very little for me. Well that is part of it I wanted it to be longer, I wanted it to be interesting, I wanted it to take its cues from Live Service games like Odyssey or Breakpoint..which despite the latters issues is still very enjoyable with a great story and filled with some inspired character writing...and I think this game could've been interesting. There is the skeletal framework here of everything that makes BioWare great, fun if not always amazing gameplay, terrific and interesting character interactions...a story that COULD BE compelling if it was given more time to breathe and if they were allowed to expand on it. I mean this game has all the hallmarks of rushed game fatigue except that there isn't...well frankly I guess there isn't a strong enough protagonist to carry it in spite of its issues like with Ryder and Hawke with DA II and Andromeda. But yeah I am scared of it because I don't want the game to be over yet and I think I am virtually on the final act and may even finish the story soon and I don't *want* it to be that short. Unless I am missing something and the game opens up again...I am only on level 18 the level cap is 30...and I've hardly felt compelled to try out any of the other Javelin's and if the game ends this quickly to where their aren't really any other quests to do soon I am not going to just grind the same levels over and over again for the next 12 levels. On the flip side i might be just missing things too because there is a few outstanding plot lines out there. Edit: Though as I pointed out I do have loads of other games to play right now Breakpoint is about to start a new LS event of their own which might be worth checking out so if I finish Anthem in the next few days it does work out as the perfect opportunity to check that out before waiting for its big patch to drop in Feb I guess.

Swtor Got the swith inquisitor to 75 on Corellia which is a level 50 planet. The moment I hit it, some of the mission rewards started dropping level 75 gear so I don't really have to wait until the expansions for the 75 gear drops. Xp is now on renown. Every time I leveled, I get one or two pieces of 75 gear. I moved the adaptive gear to the customise slot and enabled it because no way do I want to the avatar to be seen in the 75 gear that look mis-match on her; they're more for a trooper than a force user, so strange. I finished the inquisitor's class story and kicked a particular slimeball's ass. A satisfying fight. Her next stop is Ilium and after that, it will be Revan's expansion story. Beyond it, Knights of the Fallen Empire. I decided to halt at Ilium and brought on the sith warrior, now on Belsavis, the prison planet. Once she reaches Ilium, then it'll be the agent's turn to move up.

Tooting around in Stormworks, a builder game where you design ships, aircraft, subs, cars, trains and use them on coastal archipelago map to do "coastguard" missions. There is a basic progression with research unlocking components to build with but I tried to load Steam workshop items and they all won't work, because ppl of course use all the doodads possible.
So I started new "campaign" with all stuff unlocked and loaded a Super Puma designed by another player. WTF? It has MFDs with touchscreens. And they run programs. Multiwaypoint autopilot. Camera feed. Sims within sims I'm used to since Minecraft redstone but working MFDs? That kinda blew me away.
There is also little hovercraft cube. It's so tiny I could never build like that. My stuff is bulky and chunky and ugly. It even has movable ballast to control tilting along the axises.

So I looked online because it's been a long time and most people said that the only way to save the children is if you talk to the Earlderman first. I can't remember what order you said you did your quest in? Here is a quote I found on the wiki. "If the player releases the spirit before consulting the Ealdorman in the Ladies of the Wood quest, the game will have an odd consequence in the Return to Crookback Bog quest. The village of Downwarren will be attacked but Anna will not be turned into a water hag. Additionally a dialogue element will give the impression that the orphans have been saved, this turns out not to be true as there is no reference to the orphans' survival later in Novigrad as there normally is when they are saved."

Finally made it to Novigrad. Did some shopping, banking, and card-playing, then went looking for Triss. Followed a thief to the King of Beggars' abode, where Triss was discussing the terms of their arrangement. Helped her catch some rats, escape a trap, and get paid double by the double-crossing merchant who hired her. She then sent him to find Corinne Tilly, an oneiromancer, to see if she could help him in his search for Ciri.
Hey melbella did you get to the part in Novigrad where you can check the outcome of the kids in the bog yet?

Wow this seems like another approach. Did you see the one I found? "After giving Johnny his voice but before heading to the Bog with him I went to the spirit and freed her. She didn't make an offer to save the children (and then lied to the elderman that I killed the spirit), but upon talking to the Crones, after they mention that the kinds are plump and ready to be eaten, I said "You used me!" and told them that I freed the spirit, they freaked out and said the spirit had taken the children away and that I was a traitor." Would be great to find a definitive list of approaches and outcomes to this quest. I have the Prima guide (had forgotten about that ) and will try and find some time today to read what it says.

So back to Redcliffe to kill some Darkspawn and then made a baby with Morrigan. Then to Denerim after an inspirational speech from Anora, kind of wishing I'd just romanced her rather than forcing Alistair to quit the Grey Wardens and marry her now. Anyway, went to Denerim and killed more Darkspawn and then appointed Sten to head the gate defence. Will take Loghain, Morrigan and Leliana for the final battle. Will probably bring the Dalish to the final battle for their ranged weapons and they are a bit more resilient than the mages. Undecided as to whether I'll let Loghain kill the Archdemon or whether Amos will. Pic's Decided to make Loghain wear Cailans gear: Anora rouses the troops Morrigan convincing Amos to make a magical baby: So she's not a heartless shrew afterall:

Curious Crow I had the same reaction about Incineroar It quickly became my favourite. Yup, it's a beast (I pretty much solo'ed Ultra Sun with mine). And if you like morbid entries, I can't wait to hear what you think about Sandygast's evolution entry (Moon has better one that Sun imo), seeing as you're using one now As for what I did... I got some new entires in both Sword and Shield Pokedex, and brought number missing to 5 and 10 respectively. Seeing how Pokemon HOME is coming out soon (I really like the fact that there's mobile version as well), I focused on hatching accumulated eggs instead of hunting other people's raid dens (since it's the only way of getting entries I'm missing w/o trading). I think I'm slowly getting into (or maybe even already in) 4 digit number territory with eggs hatched without a shiny. I really hope my luck will improve once I get Shiny Charm for completing Pokedex. I reaaaaally want some of them and I don't want to resort to trading them, since I like being OG trainer of my main team.

Rascoth Sandygast evolved today and all I can say about his entry is alright then. In a not terribly calm manner. Do kinda wonder if he's hauling all them bones with him or it's just the stationary ones. Because if he's dragging them with him, the player has some things to answer for. But then again, my girl has a permanent dead eyed stare and a grin on her face. so I figure I'll just let her go on about her business. Been curious, did you play through the Pokemon Let's Go Eevee/Pikachu and would you recommend them if you did? And would you say Shield or Sword is superior to one another or on the same level, since you've played them both? --- More Pokemon Moon today. Ended up playing a "little longer" yesterday and then it was 3am so that was a big oops. Had forgotten what happened in the bit I played, so it was kinda fresh to me which was nice. Did remember one or two events, but was kinda wondering if I dreamt up the part I got stuck on, until my nemesis Guzma appeared and brought back all those horrid memories. Decided to call it quits for the night there. Then picked it up later in the day and finally got to the spot where I rage quit last time, Po town. Well the town is pretty cool, it just has Guzma who was not as cool back then. So I was absolutely delighted to have Ignis basically smack him and his family down in three hits. Then sat in his chair for good measure. Got a chuckle out of the little cutscene after that. I'm your boss now! And finally running the game proper blind. Had a very dramatic bout of teamwork with Hau and gloomy kid as the plot took a not terribly unexpected turn. And am now on Poni island, which is so far sadly lacking in ponies. Am about to enter a vast desert, but leaving that 'till tomorrow as to not repeat the whole 3am thing. Team update is as such. Scum has turned into a Muk and is kinda sorta cementing herself into the A-Team. Finally gave her a bit of petting today and was overjoyed to find out that the hand gets all slimy and slow. Cloudy, PITA and Finna Fish have all evolved to their final form and are being boxed for now. The three slots they left behind are just being rented out to some mooks who I know evolve on level ups and am just abusing the massive amount of XP being tossed around. Kinda want to hunt down a water pokemon for the team, but simultaneously too lazy to do so, since Bouncee and Ignis are pretty much just steamrolling things between them.

Undecided as to whether I'll let Loghain kill the Archdemon or whether Amos will. If you did the DR with Morrigan, the Warden automatically kills Archie since there's no dilemma about who gets to die a hero.

This does make me want to try another witcher 3 run of my own for science, It's just that I have a lot of games in my library that I haven't played or only played once. Even your recent play-through of DAO has been making me want to start another DAO save for the millionth time after my new deadfire play-though. Decisions, decisions.....

Hey melbella did you get to the part in Novigrad where you can check the outcome of the kids in the bog yet? Yes, I got there but there were no kids. My game happened the way Onecrazymonkey1's quote talks about. Maybe if I'd picked a different dialogue option later when talking to the Crones it would have ended up differently?

Found some stuff but none seems to speak of what happens about doing the Spirit before visiting The Bog etc: witcher.fandom.com/wiki/Marabella%27s_School_for_Totsgamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/702760-the-witcher-3-wild-hunt/72664631

No I didn't see it but that's Interesting, there are more outcomes than I originally thought. This does make me want to try another witcher 3 run of my own for science, It's just that I have a lot of games in my library that I haven't played or only played once. Even your recent play-through of DAO has been making me want to start another DAO save for the millionth time after my new deadfire play-though. Decisions, decisions..... I played DAO at least 15 times after release but not since 2014 I think (1 aborted attempt in 2016) and have really enjoyed it. Will do the DLC starting tomorrow if I can do the final battle today and am looking forward to then playing DA2 again even though I played that not that long ago. Looking forward to playing as a female Rogue this time and think I'll support the Templars for the first time.

This time round I jus tchose to do DAI with a randomised world state as I didn't want the headache of playing all 3. Plus I didn't hav eamn ywardens or Hawkes in mind though if I still don' tthen I ma yjus tge tthe keep to pick a background for me and figure out a story around the rest so I can pla yall 3. Because sometimes in the past I've done that when I'm not sure what I want to play.

Crossed practice swords with Rosa var Attre and her twin sister Edna, and discovered Dandelion talked to them about some old dead guy. Won a horse race (minus Roach) vs Gen. Voorhis. Found Molly and learned Dandelion talked to her about getting his hands on a barge. So, add it all together and Geralt had a whole bunch of weird unrelated things. But, he put his weird things together with Zoltan's weird things and ended up at the Kingfisher Inn listening to a song about his awkward love life. Awkward!
Priscilla put Geralt on the trail of two other city crime bosses, Whoreson Junior and Sigi Reuven. Since Sigi was the one Dandelion was apparently trying to rob for some reason, he figured he'd start there.
Also won/bought more gwent cards (still playing on easy mode).

Been curious, did you play through the Pokemon Let's Go Eevee/Pikachu and would you recommend them if you did? And would you say Shield or Sword is superior to one another or on the same level, since you've played them both? Yeah, I've played Let's Go and... there's a lot of GO in that title. It's clear it's transition title for those who got interested in console games after Pokemon GO. It's especially visible in Pokemon catching system. There are quite a few new things in it, some of them made it into Sword and Shield, some didn't. Overall I'd say it's medicore entry in the series and while I enjoyed it, I don't think it's must have. Better to get Sword or Shield now that they're out, and maybe get Let's Go if it's on nice sale. As for Sword and Shield... I don't think any of them is superior to the other. It boils down to your preference. As in most cases both games have some exlusives and my initial buying decision was based on that. Or more precisely exclusive legendary (though now that I played thru both I grew to like Shield's doggo as well). Exclusive Pokemon (aside from legendaries) are easier to get than in previous titles thanks to max raids and the fact that you can join the ones hosted by people from the other game. So if you don't have preference for legendary, don't care about completing Pokedex, then the only thing that could influence your decision are exlusive trainers main games have different gym leaders, fighting and rock for Sword, ghost and ice for Shield. DLCs are going to have at least one more exlusive trainer, poison for Sword, psychic for Shield. And if you don't care about that either then really, coin toss is as valid decision method as any other, since none is superior.

I did a few more hours of Gears 4 last night.
The part I played felt a bit like the Deep Roads in DAO, but with better graphics, guns, no magic and enemies who took more steroids than the hurlocks has. Also, darkspawns filth everywhere. There was mention of wizards too.
It was a bit less repetitive than the first part I played, but the encounter design just feel so lazy to me. Walk in corridor with the squad talking some exposition, get to open space "Oh no! ambush", stick 200 bullets into every weak points and move on to the next corridor. Rince and repeat.

Sums up my experience with the Gears series. Single player only. G4 was nothing special. I played G5 on my nephew's PC. The game looks and runs great, but otherwise is the same as G4, but with a bit of a pseudo open map. Can't hold a candle to the MET even if it somehow inspired it's combat.

Rosa var Attre may be my favorite minor NPC in TW3. Full of attitude and somewhat naive, but I like her spirit. IMO she has more presence than Triss.
