Note: I maxxed all my Rares prior to doing this testing - this is purely for acquiring Ultra Rares So, after reading a few threads here and on reddit regarding the best purchase/upgrade path, I began testing/tracking Experts of my own, here is what I have found so far: This falls in line with the 20-25% drop rate on Premium Packs from here as well as the 10-12% drop rate for Expert Packs from here. Since Premiums are twice the cost of Experts, it makes no sense to buy Premiums as you get twice as many consumables from Experts for the same amount of credits. If you are instead spending CA$H monies you'll want to buy the Premiums instead, as the cost is 200 vs 300 instead of 50,000 vs 100,000. For the record, the URs I received: - P.A.W. VII, VIII (punishment for the others perhaps?)
- Hurrician V, VI
- Piranha VI
- Rozerad IX
- Crusader V
- Inferno I, II
- Atari Duelist IX, X
- Salarian Operator VI

Holy hell, you opened 37 packs in a single day? That's an insane level of grinding.

Been wondering about this, good to see some numbers. Also, for people who haven't maxed uncommons (like me), going with Expert packs doubles the number of chances to get an Uncommon drop from packs as well.

Holy hell, you opened 37 packs in a single day? That's an insane level of grinding. I had about 500k left over from the previous day, just didn't open the packs. But yeah, 13-ish minute Zero/Outlaw runs while farming the sniper rifle challenges on host isn't too hard. My Apex is 14,206 as of this post

I play games almost all day given the chance, but doing nothing but playing MEAMP between getting out and back into bed is too much even for me. I've heard that expert packs are better for URs than premium but was never too sure, but I'm hearing it more and more which is reassuring since I'd hate to grind for 100k then receive cryo ammo IV instead.

So what packs are best to max my rares? Expert, though advanced packs have a small chance to be a rare but obviously not as consistent as a guaranteed rare or better in an expert pack. There is pretty much no reason at all to go for premium packs unless they buff the UR rate in premium packs.

Thanks for data!
I've written down a bit what I got from Expert packs, and compared with Premium Pack openings from youtube. All seems to indicate:
-Ultra rare rate is same. -All other rates (common, uncommon and rare) are VASTLY better in Expert pack.
I just finished my collection (other than UR), and the URs I got are: Avenger IV Duelist I Kinetic IV Gladiator I Operator II =12 Blk Widow III Dhan 0 Inferno 0 Crusader I Eagle III Hurricane V Piranha III Valiant I Valkyrie 0 Nalden I PAW I Rozerad II Soned I Ushior I =22
So 34 URs, Expert packs only except 3 premium packs.
Tip: Skip advanced packs! - you get lots of commons and uncommons as a 'free bonus' in expert packs. (will miss out if you max those out in advance) When my rares were maxed out, I only had to buy around 20 advanced packs to fill in the holes that were left.

so, if it really turns out that Expert Packs are better than Premium Packs I will turn my back on this company. I noticed (and posted) on day one that Expert Packs seem to be better but then I was thinking: "No - this comapany cannot be that stupid. Nobody would simply double the costs and chances - while giving less items" Especially considering that the ITEM STORE is the very thing EA probably has had the highest attention on Rather than balancing, etc. .... Remember how it was in ME3? The Spectre Pack was 60k and the Premium Pack was 99k which I consider a reasonable distribution. Everbody knows that you'd rather get a quantity discount than the opposite

I just finished off my rares completely and i'm done for now.
10 percent drop rate on URs is just utterly ridiculous given how many there are and now they are going to add ur mods which is borderline insulting. Even when platinum comes out I don't think the grind is worth it. 100 packs to max an ultra rare is fucking nuts.

Everbody knows that you'd rather get a quantity discount than the opposite You might be right. The only thing I could think of would be that the number of opened packs for the statistics isn't high enough yet to completely rule out RNG-Luck. Looking back at ME3MP, Premium Spectre Packs were long considered to be the best at dropping UR (even stated so by the ingame tooltip) until the figures were high enough to show that Arsenal Packs had the statistically highest chance. That said, I've been extremely lucky getting URs with Arsenal Packs - however, a friend of mine got most of her URs by buying only Spectre Packs...Arsenal Packs didn't nearly pay out as well for her. On a sidenote, Spectre Packs also gave you a much higher chance of maxing uncommon mods and gear - Veteran Packs were only good for uncommon weapons, strangely. Seems to be not so different to ME3MP in that regard, but the cost difference between Expert and Premium Packs definitely shifts the balance towards Expert in general, I believe.
