When Morda headbutted Strux at the start I was like "yes! Krogan fight!" Then I saw the rest of the fight and it was more like "Bwahahahahaha." It was frankly comical. Krogan, with their short little stubby arms, having some sort of slap fight. Or when Morda goes for a gut kick which should double someone over, and instead Strux falls down like his legs have been swept from under him. Utter disappointment to end on.

There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting gods.

I thought it looked a little silly, but I feel that way about a lot of cutscenes. I really don't expect cutscenes in games to have world-class animations, especially games that have so very many of them.

I accepted the point (They fought. Morda won.) and moved on.

But this is also true. Animations are graded on a curve. It was adequate. It didn't look particularly good. It at least got its message across.

Offhand there's only one BioWare fight scene that I didn't think looked stupid, and it's the pre-rendered Thane vs Eclipse scene from the Mass Effect 2 trailers.

From what point of view? realistically? sure it was amusing (the close ups with both swords crossed, some noises and how they seem always out of reach with the swords), it was over the top Hollywood fairy tale thing but it suits the characters and mood. Morda overall seems kinda silly, I am not an expert or anything on the style? but the way they execute it artistically was just meh.

I dunno. I get that they were going for Errol Flynn rather than Tyrone Power with the Otranto duel, I just think that that wasn't something anybody should really have been going for in the first place. It was goofy as all hell.

The Disney Princess and courtly nonsense turned me off the Josie romance pretty hard. I guess it worked for other people?

I see where you are coming from but I did enjoy it, the RP possibilities are amazing with her romance. I mean the whole lesbian KISA PC was possible because of Josephine and as a latina I loved both her design and voice work, than again I loved Isabela for the same reasons... maybe I just like latinas in general.

Going back to topic I think it all about mood and how to get the message across, Josephine fight did that but Morda did not.

Andromeda made Krogan look like toads with too short arms, their menacing presence from the trilogy is really non existent here. Exept for Drack.
