Recently I have been getting quite annoyed because I have all of my commons, uncommons and half my rares maxed out and I'm only at 7800 Apex rating. Im seeing all these players with 15000 plus apex rating and I didnt understand. Are they really spending that much money on the game? Have they really played that much? I have 50 plus hours in the multiplayer and have spent about $120 and they have double my apex. What am I doing wrong? So I took off to google for my answers. I saw the error in my way and didnt relize challenges effect your apex rating so much. Hell, I thought they were still bugged and you couldn't complete them. Now that I'm working on my challenges, I have a few questions.
1. When it says earn points with a weapon or skill, what does that mean? Does points mean damage, use or kills? Example. I kill 1 enemy and did 400 damage. Do I get 400 points for damage, 1 point for the kill or 1 point every time I shot or used the skill?
2. What are challenge points? I completed a challenge last night and it said I was awarded 500 challenge points. I only revived 100 Apex points. I assumed if you completed the challange, those challange points would turn into apex points. Sounds simple and easy, but I guess it's more complicated than that. Can someone eleberate?
I will be adding onto this post, asking more questions and keeping it alive to try and get these questions answered. Bioware does not do a very good job at explaining how their multiplayer works. If you have any questions about the multiplayer challanges, please ask below and hopefully as a community, we can help each other out.

1; You get the points value as far as I am aware. 100 points for a mook and so forth. 70 hours played at this stage is not alot though, compared with the big league - just FYI.
2; Challenge points have their own ladder, so has nothing to do with APEX rating.

And 50 hours already played in multiplyer, plus campain beat twice and a full time job and the games only been out for a month, to me means every waking second I have outside of work and sleep goes into this game. So FYI, don't lecture me on big leagues. I just had questions. I didn't ask for your opinion.

Well, you asked a question and received an answer: yes, you greatly underestimate the amount of time and money some people are willing to put into this game. As for points, you can see XP awarded upon enemy kill. As long as you used exlusively the power/weapon in question, and no other player contributed to the damage, you should receive exactly that amount of XP towards the challenge.

You know, when you kill a standard raider (mook - low rank mob) you get 100 points, adhis give you 165 etc. Those points tallied up is what you need 140.000 of in total with the given weapon. And I'm not pointing fingers at you, so quit being so touchy and defensive. I'm just saying it like it is, so that you can understand that 70 hours played is not alot at this stage in the game's lifecycle, so that you can understand how some people can have 12.000+ APEX rating. (I've played with someone that had 17.000+ - which is crazy to me)

Another question. Do combos work one after another. Say I do two combos back to back. The 1st one you'll hear the explosion of the combo and it say biotic combo, but when I do the 2nd one I don't hear the explosion but it says biotic combo. Any thoughts?

Another question. Premium packs or expert packs? Premium gives me a better shot at n7 gear, but for the same amount of mp credits, i can get 2 expert packs which come with the same amount of gold items, plus 5 more consumables. 1 premium gives 2 gold and 3 consumables. 2 experts give 2 gold and 8 consumables. Is it worth the extra chance at n7 to lose 5 consumables? Is it even a better chance? 1 medium chance for n7 at 100,000 or 2 small chances at the same price but 5 more guaranteed consumables.

No one has confirmed that the 100k packs have a higher drop rate per slot than the 50k packs. So better go with the 50k packs because of more consumables.

You can detonate as many times a second as your mechanical execution allows, however the game does not show overlapping detonations. They are there, but to prevent the excessive noise and overlapping visual effects the game doesn't render similar combos that are too close together. So no two biotic combos will overlap, for the most part, there is a distance and a timing where they are far enough apart to both render.
Also, support powers give 10xp per use, some per person effected, so getting 50,000 xp is use it on allies 5,000 times, and some are not even that simple, shield boost requires you to use it on an ally who has shields missing when you use it, and stealth grid appears to be bugged and doesn't work at all.

And 50 hours already played in multiplyer, plus campain beat twice and a full time job and the games only been out for a month, to me means every waking second I have outside of work and sleep goes into this game. Well, that just means there are people who haven't put their available time into the SP, and some who don't have full time jobs. 50 hours into MP is a lot for you; but not for the people above you in the ranks. This seems like it should be easier to figure out And for biotic combos, there's a nice vid on the Asari Adept (sorry, don't have the link) that talks about how you can trigger multiple in short order. Combo off enemy one, pivot to enemy two and combo off him and get 2 quick combos. Each enemy has a combo cooldown, apparently, so the second combo won't trigger if you go too quick. So your options: combo #1, combo #2; or combo #1, wait a second or two, combo #1 again. Hope that makes sense!

On the other hand, in their current state some powers and weapons (well, most, who am I kidding) are simply far too weak to do any serious damage on Gold. Playing solo on Bronze would probably be the fastest way to complete their respective challenges.

well I certain skills are trash so getting them to complete is really difficult, i noticed that its virtually impossible to complete all the challenges unless you no life the game and waste a lot of actual money in order ot have the consumables to make them viable.
i idd the avenger challenge on bronze because its so bad it takes 2 clips ot kill anything on silver nad 3or 4 to kill stuff on gold, it has a low ammo reserve and you die a lot even with lvl 3 ar booster and lvl 3 ammo, also the game doesn't track several of the challenges and none of them reset so you cant for instance just use the talon on pistol challenge over and over until its completed, shiot i beat the pistol medals challenge before i had completed a single weapon challenge ....
to be honest the challenge numbers mean nothing, the apex rating means how many time you played a none level 20 kit, you get a couple of points per character per match, someone could conciveably gain a few hundred apex points just fro mplaying matches each day where they giasn challenge points but it varies wildly, i played a silver game with an infiltrator goining challenge points earned 10 apex points, played another match one same team new map gained zero apex points but gained challenge points, played a third game gained 10 apex points ....... because like most other things its buggy
only reason for the challenge boards is e-peen and most of those at the top are folks that spent thousands to get there, the remainder are those that use cheats .....which makes the whoel thing completely pointless /
