Biggy_DX In another thread, you responded to a reddit user who asked about the games ammo economy/management. You not only described what types of methods you used for players to resupply, but you also wanted the Anthem communities ideas on how we would like to see ammo resupply worked out. My first question is, "Has the team made any headway on this particular system?" My second question is, "Did any of the ideas brought up by reddit users - within that topic - give you some tangible ideas to work in solving the problem, or does the team feel they have a proper solution already in play?"
I'm only asking because I believe you mentioned, at one point, that one method you originally tried wasn't well received.
Brenon Holmes We've narrowed it a bit more, but we're still doing a lot of playtesting and evaluation before we really lock it down.
The ideas brought up were useful, mostly to get a feel for the kinds of things people were interested in. It was more like having another voice at the table kind of thing... if that makes sense?
When it comes to prototypes and evaluation, we usually like to let things soak for a while to make sure that we get a full and fair evaluation of features. 😊

Biggy_DX I don't know if this is already the case, but maybe a flight themed Javelin would be given greater In-air bonuses; rather than having increased flight speed and altitude. I'm thinking back to Andromeda, which let you hover in air while firing. You'd even get bonuses when hover as well; such as damage resistance, increased accuracy, and increased damage.

Kaladin04 I'm a huge fan of Destiny, but one thing I feel like they could've gotten around to sooner was the introduction of melee combat. Guns are great for mid and long range, but what other options might be available to us players who enjoy getting in our enemies faces? Would there ever be the possibility of extendable weapons that we keep attached to our Javelins? A particular picture I'm thinking of is when Gypsy Danger in Pacific Rim whips out it's sword and it battles the flying Kaiju.
Brenon Holmes First of all... you have excellent taste in movies. I don't want to exaggerate... but Pacific Rim may be one of the greatest movies ever made.
As it pertains to melee combat, we do have melee abilities in the game (you saw the Colossus stomp in the E3 video) - I can't really provide more details about melee quite yet... we'll need to wait a bit longer for this sort of thing... sorry! 😊

Here’s my reply: I’m more on the minimalist end of the spectrum. The only crafting I want to see in Anthem is for consumables, particularly ammo. As mentioned above, I like how Horizon Zero Dawn uses the gameworld currency to craft directly into ammo. That makes for interesting build/buy trade offs, and creates a natural limit on ammo supply. As well as a sink for excess currency. I’m not in favor of Anthem having gear crafting, or even just upgrades for gear through crafting, because as DAI demonstrated, **gear crafting devalues unique gear drops as a reward for doing something difficult**, like killing a boss to get a kickass weapon. If I crafted something 10x better days before, the drop becomes a letdown.

Figures, even with 'normal' staff turnover, they'll be replacing c.50 people per year in the Anthem team alone. I suppose that's true on both counts.

Two could be hired at any time: Character Artist and Gameplay Animation Programmer. Since new NPCs, new emotes, or new Javelin designs could be dropped into the game as “live” content after launch, I don’t think anything can be read into those. Something can be read into the third job: Live Service Executive Producer.

BioAdmiralXBioWare QA I wouldnt say a lot, but hard to compare. My experience was retail and then to BioWare and can state there is substantially less here than there was there.
But I know in my department, I have been here for 7 years, and in my office of 4 other people: 2 have been here longer than me, one started 5 days after me, and another is 2 years in now (for a position we created).
