So, this is a crash fix for people having CTD's or freezes with the game due to memory leaks. If it's been posted before ban me. Since I have done this fix, I have had no crashes whatsoever and I have tested it with a gtx 780 (yes 'top of the line' but had to run all settings on low just to get 60 fps) and a 1080. Apparently the Frostbite Engine does this for all games due to the engine so this fix may work for other games. (Thank you NuDice) My rig is sort of old, but still privileged tier, so mileage may vary. Sorry console peasants PC fix only :^) And just so nobody wines about specs: I7 3770K Asus Sabertooth z77 GTX 780 (now 1080) DDR3 8gb Corsair 1600mhz 1,000,000 HDD 1 Kingston SSD 3 Monitors cause multitasking yo Binbows 10 Go to: Control Panel >> System >> (Left hand side) Advanced System Settings >> (In system properties) Advanced Tab >> (Under Performance) Settings >> (Under Performance Options) Advanced Tab >> (Under Virtual Memory) Change So if you followed the maze correctly you'll end up with a window showing virtual memory allocation. I don't know if it's because I built my PC myself but the size was extremely low (1500 mb). You want to unclick "Automatically manage paging file size for all drives" and input a custom size. You can make it however big you want but the downside is it takes up space on you hard drive. I did this for my main drive and the drive I had the game installed on (15000 whole mbs at my disposal). After reading and typing this whole fucking thing maybe I'm retarded in thinking I need to do it for two whole drives. Don't know. Again, please note this only applies to CTD and freezes due to memory errors. Mileage may vary. If this fix works, you're welcome. If not, fuck off Bobandy. Grammar Nazis; too drunk to care :^)

I had a custom virtual memory set at 4GB (just use on one drive, that's enough). I set it to 'let Windows manage' instead and had no more CTD's since.
System RAM is 16GB in my case.

I have 32GB of RAM and another 32GB for virtual memory, so this doesn't help me out, but I appreciate the suggestion. I'm always willing to try pretty much any proposed fix.

OP, you might want to get more RAM. I did a little test and during single player, total system memory usage was a little over 10 GB. The game itself was using around 8 GB, with the rest of the system using a little over 2 GB (I had my browser open). If you only have 8 GB installed, that's probably why you're having success with increasing the virtual memory. I am using Win 10 Pro.

I haven't suffered a CTD since the last patch, and only had a few before that. But I've also made the custom VM setting on every Windows computer I've owned. Other than occasional boots to the main menu and the sound bug, I've had a pretty stable experience. Now if they'd just balance guns and powers.

If you only have 8 GB installed, that's probably why you're having success with increasing the virtual memory. I am using Win 10 Pro. You must have really terrible bloatware on your PC. The only game that comes close to needing that much ram is maybe ARK or when in 4k. I'm running windows, the game, and other silly programs like google chrome to watch Netflix and I don't use all of my ram. When loading into a new area or at start it's working at 95 percent loads but even afterwards it starts to die down after all assets are on screen. Picture was taken on Kardara. Evenything is Ultra settings except shadows and borderless mode. The problem is not ram but the Frostbite engine in general. After digging around it's a Direct X virtual memory error that no matter how much ram you have, if you get this bug it will crash and freeze the game, or any frostbite related game. I also wasted quite a pop on money to get the game running in creamy 60 fps with a new GPU and have no intention of dumping more money into a rig I might be scrapping soon to upgrade. If all it take is a little bit of numbers tweaks for VM I'm all for it.

Gonna have to try this out, I've been unable to play SP at all due to constant crashes during conversations from memory leaks, since patch 1.05. Which didn't even fix the retarded eye rolling/jelly face animations for me. Tnx biower.

So not only do you not understand criticism, you also don't understand memory architecture. There's no way in hell a game being displayed at 1080 res would use EIGHT GIGS of ram, because it only uses 3 at 4096 x 2160 with maxed out settings. Skyrim with literal 4K everything at 4K with parallax maps uses 7 gigs. You haven't the faintest, which is pretty amazing for a guy ''back on the olden days of the UTs and Q3s we had to internets both ways in the snow and we liked it, Donald Trump for Tax Collector 1816".

You should try disabling the Origin Overlay. Ive had literally zero CTDs since i did so.

I don't have to try because you have no idea what you're talking about, and can't even tell the difference between Ram and VRam. No go back and reread what I said and realize why you're abjectly ignorant and obviously clueless at best. neither of those is 8 gigs, even combined

I just switched to borderless window and I've stopped crashing, which has been nice. I've got a pretty advanced rig, though (I7 5280k, 32 GB DDR4, 1080 Ti) so that probably helps a bit. I play it on 4k ultra settings minus HBAO+ (that kills my frame rate even with the Ti).

Have you played with a xp booster and a weapon booster after that? Yes. Even got confident enough to use a level 3 booster on my Asari Adept and didn't crash. I do occasionally still have problems with sound cutting out, though. Sometimes just the voices, sometimes all sound.
