I like ME:A multiplayer, despite it's current state of sniping boredom. But holy cow it seems like I could play 1000 hours and get nowhere. I have played quite a bit, I have several characters at lvl 20, apex rating about 7000, and so on. Yet, I don't have the guns I want (they're ultra rare). And more importantly, I don't have freaking silver mods for my guns, for crying out loud (ok, I have like, 1 for pistols). I keep getting character cards and guns I don't want in the silver boxes.
At this point I would totally put money to buy the guns and mods I want. But, no, if I buy Andromeda points, that gets me more RNG boxes, so why would I?
Bioware, if you're reading this, please make ME:A multiplayer fun and rewarding. And do it fast because like all millenials I have the attention span of a 5 year old. Thanks.

Buy advanced boxes until you max all of that stuff...I am just at the point where I am getting all of the uncommon mods and I am at almost Apex Rating 10,000. $20,000 a box is a way better way to fill out your consumable pile as well. I did get lucky and got the weapons I wanted so I am happy just grinding away.

Welcome to the club OP. I want to say i'm still needing about 150 URs to max my manifest.
I only care about 43 of those URs, which makes me sad.

For 7,000 Apex, your progress sounds quite right where it should be at. I have friends who are at 13,000 and finally maxed their Uncommons and Rares and haven't even started counting their URs. I am at 20,000 Apex and my UR cards are barely halfway through (99 out of 190). So yeah, it is a long road to get there.

Was kind of inevitable when they figured how badly people would try for the bestest stuff in DAIMP.
You just don't expect them to do it without even kissing you first.

BW response: We increased the grind because jetpacks give all characters increased mobility.

Just remember this when 3 months* from now when you've maxed your manifest and all your characters are level 20 and you come to complain about how bored you are with MP because all the money/XP you gain in matches doesn't go towards anything. The key is to not think of it as a grind to unlock everything, but about the new things you get to play with as you continue to play *And yes, I know 3 months is probably optimistic

Yeah, the grind can get really tedious and boring.
How to make this grind more fun: Play different characters, complete challenges and get credits all the time. Do all of these in Gold only.

But in this game, the grind for leveling up character is a big mistake.

I still like it better than ME3MP where character cards got you XP for that character, so you just got a wasted card anytime you had a level 20 character. I would intentionally hold off buying packs until I had promoted a bunch of my level 20 characters (to try out new builds, etc) so that those cards wouldn't feel like a complete waste of credits. The best option (for players anyway ) would be if you had the starting amount of points to spend at level 20 that give you 4 of 5 skills maxed, and then the character cards give you the points to max the last skill tree. But then they would have to balance for having all the top tier abilities and people who hadn't unlocked them all yet would complain about balance

Talking leveling them up via playing. Would have been fine if the weapons were fine.

Yes, it takes longer to get to 20, but you never have any reason to promote them here, so I think it's fine. With ME3MP, you could relatively quickly get them to 20, which made trying new builds easier, but you can just respec here and do the same. And personally, I like playing pre-20 where my XP in a match actually means something. And where I don't feel like I HAVE to be playing gold every match

Most online games & phone games are not different.
Only thing that matters is that if you enjoy the ride along the way or not.
....I would say it is getting bit boring and too repetitive with MEAMP...

I get the attention span issue, and I get the "I must have it all and I must have it right now!" mentality. Really, I get that. I feel your pain.
But think, this is a game that Bioware hopes you'll be playing for at least 3 years...why in God's name would they want to give you everything in a few weeks?
So your option is to either give them a boatload of money, max your manifest and then get bored and go play something else, or grind it out over a period of many months. Or, as someone else here did, give them a bucket full of money, and play for 12 hours a day for a month.

Based on what we have now and the level of meta they flattened it down to, that quote is incredibly baffling, and I cannot fathom how they thought people were going to stick with this mechanical model in world where stuff like warframe and action mmos exist.

In 3 months I'll be playing something else for sure, that's why I want my toys now. Depressing, but probably true in my case. I've never been one to play a lot of games; I find a couple per year I really like and play the shit out of them. Played ME3MP for years. Played each of the trilogy SP campaigns at least a dozen times. At this stage in ME3 I was excited about what DLC would bring. Now I'm just dreading how much it's going to further water down the UR pool and make it even less likely I'll ever get that fucking Piranha before quitting. Wish I could trade in five levels of Rozerad or Ushior for one Piranha...
