Was the "phasing" ability of the Anchor actually by design?
It might have been nothing more than an accidental byproduct of Anchor becoming unstable, as we're told that the magic was desperately trying to find a way back into the Fade. Perhaps the increased attraction between Anchor and Fade was how the Inquisitor was able to briefly shunt themselves partially into it and leave them temporarily out-of-phase?
In that case, Solas might not even be aware that the Anchor had that capability. Much like Hedge Mages, perhaps the "normal" flow of magic from the Anchor had gone awry, leading it to start being channeled in completely new and unexpected ways?

I think dealing with demons is foolhardy, no matter how confident you are that you know what you're doing. Was it a Pride Demon or a Spirit of Wisdom. Merrill calls it a spirit continuously and even then says all spirits are dangerous in banter with Anders. The keeper always refers to it as a demon trying to eventually possess Merrill. To reference a certain apostate: go in expecting a spirit and treat it with respect and caution you get a spirit; go in expecting a demon your will/expectation corrupts the spirit. For all we know, it could have been a Spirit of Wisdom at one point.
What if being bound on Sundermount for millennia, unable to carry out it's purpose, was what corrupted it?
(Sort of like what happened to Solas' friend or the Librarians in Vir Dirthara)

Because Han did his 40 years ago, before modern sass banter became something you see everyday on twitter, the radio, TV, and in books. So you would have seen Han and chuckled with "nice wit", whereas you see Poe and roll your eyes and think "saw something like that on twitter yesterday." Well I did say that the trope was overplayed. I reckon they were trying to homage that scene with Poe, but it didn't work as well as it did back with ANH because it's become cliche, in part due to the huge impact that Star Wars has had on science fiction in general.
Something very similar happened with John Carter and Valerian, where audiences found those movies derivative of other works of science-fiction, when they were in fact the original sources of inspiration that other science fiction drew from.

Did you really want me to paste the conversation between Poe and Hux, and their cliche "I'll hold" modern day sass banter? The comparison is night and day I agree that the busted radio gag is overplayed in fiction, but how does Han BSing his way through that radio conversation not count as equally "modern sass banter"?
I've seen both of these tropes play out across multiple sci-fi works, everything from Firefly to Star Trek. It's not new, by any means.

Dude, we're the chosen ones. God created Earth and humans and told us to go forth and multiply. Once we use up Earth, we have to go elsewhere. Once we take over all of the uninhabited worlds in the galaxy, we start killing off the races who are in our way. Then we move outward into other galaxies. God's will, man. Damn, I was kinda hoping we'd end up going in a more Thunderdome direction than the Expanse.

Seems like a rising trend in storytelling. Jeremy Jahns did a video review of The Last Jedi where he said "when I first saw The Last Jedi I had that feeling, a feeling I'd never had in a Star Wars movie before where I felt like I was watching characters not from a galaxy far far away but from our own galaxy. And our own solar system. Our own planet. From the intro from the way Poe was talking to Hux, I was like that's from our world. That had never happened in a Star Wars movie before."
Han: Uh, everything is under control, situation normal. Imp: What happened? Han: We had a slight weapons malfunction, but, uh... everything is perfectly alright now, we're fine, we're all fine here, thank you... how are you?
Imp: We're sending a squad up. Han: Negative, negative, we've uh... a reactor leak here now, uh, give us a few minutes to lock it down. Uh, large leak, very dangerous. Imp: Who is this? What is your operating number? Han: Uh... *shoots console* Boring conversation anyway.
Granted that scene was largely improvised by Harrison Ford, but have people seen the original film recently?

The shoes joke did make sense in context though.
We've seen people having to go through customs and security checkpoints in previous games, so even with the high-tech scanners, taking off your shoes might very well still be a thing in the 2180s.
Another way to take it is that some people do take their shoes off when they enter someone else's home, so Ryder may have been jokingly asking if that's one of the house rules on Aya?
But either way, I don't mind that joke because Ryder was trying to defuse the tense situation with humour, so even if the Angaran's couldn't understand them, their tone was light and causal enough that they wouldn't appear threatening.

They are fanatical in ways that are truly mindblowing. Go through the Flat Earth and see for yourself. It's really not even that people believe it but that the numbers are growing. I'd think it's our duty to prevent that kind of sickness from spreading. The greatest irony is perhaps that the only way to get rid of Flat Earthers would be to find the edge of the world and push them off...
But then would we have won, or would they?

Come to think about it, would Fenris' tattoos be susceptible to a Seeker's powers?
Cassandra mentions that Seekers are able to set the Lyrium in a Mage or Templar's blood aflame, so surely having Lyrium branded into his skin would leave Fenris equally vulnerable to paralysis or crippling agony if a Seeker used it against him?
Not exactly what we were discussing, but it tpopped into my head when I was trying to work out what the potential disadvantages of Fenris' abilities were, or if he had any weaknesses that could be potentially exploited by his opponents.

Why not have her voice Yavana or another Witch of the Wilds? Or Rasaan!

I am currently working on nailing down my canon play throughs of DAO through DAI, and planned on romancing Merrill since she was a part of my Warden's story, but two things are stopping me. The first is the way Hawke has a vehement dislike of blood magic in DAI, which makes sense given how his mother died so I don't see him being ok with his lover being a blood mage. Doesn't Merrill agree to give up using blood magic though?
I know she does on the Rivalry path, but I can't remember if she does on the Friendship path?
I hate how they ruined my Hawke with this. To be fair though, Hawke already was shown multiple times to hate blood magic in DA2.
It's why having that spec made zero to have, as the story repeatedly makes Hawke seem like a hypocrite if they picked it.
(The only way I can headcanon picking Blood Mage is that Hawke technically had to use blood magic to break the seals binding Corypheus)

Well the brightness of the sun does visibly get dimmer as it moves further away, so not sure what your claim is. Incorrect, the brightness of the sun has to do with the dimmer switch that was installed sometime around the 16th Century.

Clearly, the only way to make sure is to nuke all other planets capable of sustaining life. We don't need to, turns out exposure to humanity drives alien life insane and they end up wiping themselves out shortly thereafter.
That's why no-one has ever contacted or visited us, because anyone who does become aware of us can't respond, because by then, it's far too late. It also prevents anyone else from wiping us out, because even if they do figure out that we're responsible for their neighbours going dark, there's no way they can locate our system without risking coming into contact with our signals. Therefore the only real choice is to avoid our area of the galaxy like the plague.

I've been super curious about the Fex ever since they were first name-dropped.
What about introducing one as a potential companion? Make them completely unintelligible to us, but able to understand our language (to a degree) due to having spent time in a Tevinter circus as a "curiosity". Maybe they join us in gratitude from freeing them from there?
And I'd love to see how a Fex would react to a Qunari protagonist.

Red Jenny quests can be found in the back room of the local pub. After completing the Jenny questline, we can return to the pub again, only to find the door has now disappeared and even the map doesn't show that room anymore. We can ask the barman about it, but he has absolutely no idea what we're talking about; "Yerwha'? We don't 'ave a backroom?"

The only way I feel that Fenris would only agree to help Solas is to end slavery across all of Thedas.
Aside from that, I have serious doubts that he would ever support Solas' plan to tear down the Veil. Fenris would not want to gain magic, nor risk freeing the Evanuris, if they truly were worse than the Ancient Magisters as Solas claims.

A lot of people see Merrill as an angel. An innocent puppy. While she does have a good side, I find that she can be overly prideful and sarcastic towards people who aren't even trying to insult her. Which is why Merrill seems the most susceptible to being influenced by Pride Demons, such as the one that offered her knowledge on how to restore the Eluvian, as well as Wryme in Night Terrors that can tempt her with the power to restore the Dalish.

Am I missing out by not getting the Enhanced Editions?
I've heard that there are some improvements to the graphics, interface and gameplay over the original, so would it be better for me to play the EE first, then go back to the original once I've finally gotten a better handle on how to play the game?
