I dearly hope it's not a nickname for Rookie. Because, when you need a person to dismantle the machinations of an awakened god bent on destroying the world as we know it, you DON'T PICK A ROOKIE Well knowing BioWare, it’s not so much they’ll pick a rookie but more things go terribly and the rookie is all that’s left.

Genuinely forgot that there is actually a group called Shadow Dragons in DA now. Ugh, what a stupid name. Eh, no stupider than Grey Warden, we'll get used to it. No, it’s far more stupid than Grey Warden, or even just Warden as we’re mainly referred. Yeah, get used to it the same way you get used to nails on a chalkboard. You’re used to it but still hate it.

I still hope they're not really called Rook. It is going to be infuriating if that’s how we’re referred. Hopefully it was just a code name in early development and they chose something at the very least bearable instead of this shitty name.

I think it will also be a shorthand for 'Rookie' in whatever organizations we're in. Yeah it just screams a nickname Varric gives us after recruiting us since we’re the rookie.

Looks good - but a purely cinematic trailer should always look good. How did AC last handle dual protagonists? Did they switch back and forth at various points on the critical path? Or was it a bit like GTA 5 (switch from one to the other, depending on what mission you were doing)? With Syndicate, for certain story missions you had to play as a certain Frye twin while with all the side stuff you could choose to play as either one.

What alternatives are you thinking of? wellll. Backing up what I was going to post to fair dragon I could see maybe as many as six Origins/ backgrounds potentially. I'm not 100% convinced that all of them will be, for instance only 3 are viable imo, but these are the factions which have been talked about so could be: Lord's of Fortune. Grey Waredens Crows Veil Jumpers Shadow Dragons. Mortalatasi. Of these I think being a rogue as a class option would fit in: LoF GWs Crows Veil Jumpers SD. Because of what these organizations are, their background, and rogue like characters have been associated with them. Genuinely forgot that there is actually a group called Shadow Dragons in DA now. Ugh, what a stupid name. Guess I’m going to be stuck as a Grey Warden again if these are the options, since definitely don’t want to be the others either because I genuinely hate them or they just seem so stupid.

Regarding the race or class being locked to certain backgrounds, I really hope that isn’t the case. I don’t want to be forced to play a Crow in order to go Rogue. I don't think you will. Granted I'm not sure if you will find the alternatives any more palletable but multiple of my theorized background(s) could support rogues. Well 5 of the 6 honestly. What alternatives are you thinking of?

I might be missing something, but isn't Dumat canonically dead? I'm a firm proponent of the Andraste was the original Old God Baby theory. It's just to good to pass up, I could easily see Dumat appearing in Tevinter So Dumat would still be dead then since Andraste died. Personally hope that theory never comes to pass. Much rather have Andraste remains a mystery.

Controversy opinion incoming. I am against equal representation for the sake of pure having it. For its characters first and not their sexuality or gender. For example i still think that it was an mistake to make Jaal bi because the one male squadmembers of the MEA has to be bi. Ignoring the first part because yikes, not taking that bait lol, Jaal was always meant to be bisexual, he was another of the many bi characters that got his gay content cut (typical biowhurrr cant wait to find out the next one in Dreadwolf), he didnt even have a rejection scene with Scott unlike other romances, they really restored Jaal how he was originally meant to be. And that gave mlm players another option in the squad. That said continue please, my job here is done about this matter lol //////////// Hopefully they will reveal all the companions or a good chunk of them next month, with a bit a luck we dont have to wait til july or august... " class="smile"] It also let mlm players actually get the achievement for romance without having to romance a woman.

She was a kind woman with room for character growth and is now an 11 year Inquisition veteran, groomed as a possible successor by its spymaster, whose been at the forefront of tracking both the venatori and the dreadwolf. They could do worse. See, that’s part of the problem. She was a good person but almost guarantee if made a companion they’ll make her more edgy and no longer her and call it “character growth”. They already started that with the comics. Speaking of, if they use either Varric or Harding as the Inquisition representative that whole “we need people he doesn’t know” will without any shred of doubt be a BS excuse for a new protagonist since they’ll be giving us the only Inquisition members he actually played.

They need to at some point have Lucy imagine a scenario happening then cut back to right when she began imaging it. It would be an awesome way to reference this.

One thing with the combat I hope is that unlike Valhalla they’ll have non-lethal combat be a viable way to play like the other AC games. Also curious if we’ll be forced to play as both and if so what will the split be. Would hate is Naoe is only like 20% of the game since I want to be a ninja far more than a samurai. Agreed on that. As it stands, I'm more excited to play Naoe. I heard some (unsubstantiated as far as I know) rumor a while back that it'll be 40% Naoe, 60% Yasuke. I'd rather it be the other way around. Hope that’s not true because if it is eww. If I want an open world RPG with a samurai, I’ll play Ghost of Tsushima. Even Syndicate let us use Evie for all the open world stuff and Jacob only for his story missions.

Hopefully they revamp the POI system, because vanilla has too much random buildings on planets that should be barren... I really hope a future patch or creation lets us disable those random buildings. Them spawning everyone goes against the lore and ruins immersion sometimes, like a big civilian mining operation being within walking distance of places where people say they’ve been stranded alone for years.

There are various options. If you romanced him in DAI, he seems to confirm he breakup saying that he will never forget you. Then you can either say you will never give up on him or you can come to your senses and take one of the other options. If you were friendly with him, you get his prolonged monologue about how terrible he feels about his past acts but how he doesn't intend stopping now. Then you can either say you will prove him wrong (redeem him) - how exactly is beyond me because what exactly are you going to prove? Presumably that he doesn't need to destroy the world but how does that redeem him? Well, I suppose he could finally admit he doesn't know everything and agree to abort his plan. Then in the final scene you say that we are going to save our friend from himself. Alternatively, you can just vow to stop him, in which case in the final scene you say you will do this no matter what it takes, so presumably kill him if you have to. That, of course, would also put a stop to his plan, unless it can't be stopped with him dead. Anyway, that option is also open to those who were never friends with him or hated his guts. The latter group don't even have to listen to his endless monologue. He basically says he foiled the Qun's plans because they "offend him" (fully mask off god there) and now he is going to destroy the world and he is only sparing the Quizzy because their death will cause needless chaos (which will also likely interfere with his plans), so enjoy what time you have left. Bye! I know you're approaching this from the view of someone who doesn't like Solas (judging from your phrasing), but I don't think the redeem vs kill choices are going to be meaningless. Re: "proving him wrong," I interpret that as finding another way to save the world from the Blight and/or the Evanuris other than ripping off the Veil like the bandaid it is. Of course, it will be difficult because (1) the Inquisition doesn't have Solas' lore knowledge, which he won't share other than hints through stuff like how alarmed he is that the Archdemons are being killed and (2) Solas thinks he knows everything (even though he obviously doesn't). But the Inquisition actually finding a way to break his determination (which a romanced Lavellan almost did already just by being herself when she knew nothing about his plans, per word of god) and/or mitigate the damage to the world would be a very interesting story to see. I think some big change in the Veil is going to happen either way, it just may be a question of whether Solas is ultimately the one to do it. As for redemption, I'd see Solas not going through with it as the start of a potential redemption arc, in the vein of sparing Loghain. You’re making a lot of assumptions about why Silas is doing this, trying to paint him as being more noble. What we do know is he wants to revert the world back to the world of the ancient elves when the physical realm and the Fade were one. And we know this act will result in the genocide of all the modern races. He states this. Can’t really redeem yourself from attempting to commit genocide.

Again, going to take Word of God over you. Especially since you’ve got some facts wrong and by your logic, there has never been a pacifist in our world either so it’s a word that has no meaning. But fine, I don’t want her to no longer be pro-peace/anti-violence. Is that better?

1) Will you be judging the final product of Dragon Age Dreadwolf against the time that specific version of the game has had for development? Or the entirety of the time between the release of Trespasser and the release of Dreadwolf? And 2) Assuming Dreadwolf is the most action oriented entry in the series, is that automatically "points deducted"?1. Yes. Any version of the game has been in development longer than any other in the series so if it is inferior it will be judged for it. 2. Yes. If it goes full action combat like the examples you gave instead of having some form of the tactical gameplay the others had, that would be points off.

Josephine, a pacifist? I guess perhaps in ideals, but she's a leader of an organization that is focused on (temporary) war and violence. And she believes these are required parts of politics in the scope of her job and life. She's even the one that makes *others* commit violence, even if you can easily argue she turns to it as a later or last resort compared to other people, at least the threat of violence is commonly used as a tool and I'm certain its implicit or explicit in many of her missives. She's no peacenik, that's for sure. She is a relatively non-violent character compared to most we meet in Dragon Age though, and if somehow they take her on a darker turn, I'd at least hope AT THE VERY LEAST that there's roleplaying to allow us to bring back more than just glimmers of the DAI self. Like be the push for her to reach back into her old mental toolkit and achieve a political miracle! I absolutely expect her to cut a b whenever the time comes, and believe its the right thing to do though. No crying over spilled blood. She knows the Game, she accepts it, and it'd be a character turn for her to instead utterly reject it in the name of a real pacifism. However, she's the first major character that really focuses on diplomacy, after a DAO of us fumbling around with it as Wardens and a DA2 where various efforts at it eventually led to cascading failure. She instead was able to make it work and that's cool. I feel her as a character who keeps the knife ready, but not in hand, as she's much preferring to shake on it. I’ll trust what she says and does in the game and those who worked on her more than your viewpoint, and she is a pacifist. Most tools she uses is diplomatic and economic favors, or the ruining of those. By all means, find examples where she threatens inflicting physical violence. Dont want another Leliana situation with her where she starts as a murder hobo but we can talk her out of it. Hated it in DAI and it would be worse here. Plus boring, where seeing her stay true to herself, holding onto that light in the darkness, would be far more interesting. As for the underlined, what you propose she explicitly goes against in DAI. She killed one person on accident while defending herself from him and it still disgusted herself so much she swore to always find nonviolent solutions to problems.

At this point it’s more I don’t want Josephine killed off or have her character bastardized which I see either happening. Also don’t want her relationship with the Inquisitor ruined since apparently they just left her and her family in hostile territory if romanced since I doubt the Inquisitor will be in Antiva with her. I don´t think that Bioware has the guts to kill Josie but i kinda fear that they make her into a resistance figure who also use violence if she has to. Its stupid i know but for some reason returning characters who aren´t small cameos have to change quite extreme.
That's one of my biggest fears, especially since her being a pacifist in this violent world made her so unique. To turn her into someone who’s totally fine killing would be such a betrayal to what makes Josie Josie. So I’d prefer she isn’t in the game at all over something like that.
