This is sad because this is exactly the kind of nonsensical criticism I didn't want to see validated becauseIt has nothing to do with what makes a game good or bad. No offence, that's just my humble opinion. Its my opinion not his, i do strongly suggest watching his video review, allot of solid points both for the game and against it I was talking about your opinion not his and I did watch the video.

Great review, and solid solid points. I think its a victim of the time we live in, to much forced social crap, what ever happened to sci fi's being about that and not the SJW stuff. No offense but its overly done in this game and thats my humble opinion This is sad because this is exactly the kind of nonsensical criticism I didn't want to see validated becauseIt has nothing to do with what makes a game good or bad. So it seems like we have Inquisition again where u have four responses to everything but non of them really make a difference. This to me is the worst news, at least Shepard had two completely different paths personality wise. I feel bad for thinking that wasn't enough.

For a video game seven out of ten is not good and it's getting lower than that from a lot of places. Now it could be that it is suffering from bugs, trilogy nostalgia and the current negative climate around the game but if it was truly great I think it would still have gotten great reviews. Even Inquisition managed to get decent reviews, this is bad. Since when is everyone thinking like IGN? 7 out of 10 is still good, even 6 is passable towards good. Are gamers that so damn picky with unrealistic standards these days that I missed? Also DA:I had amazing scores and was GOTY game, but for some reason way after it's released it became hated. Out of the blue. The bipolar attitude of gaming communities is getting on my nerves. I'm not saying it's a good system, it's a stupid system and one of the many reasons I don't actually read these sites. They inflate all their scores because they are scared of losing favor with big development companies. This is the same reason why they praised DA:I and ME3 when in reality neither was received that well and Inquisition won GOTY because it's best competition was Bayonetta 2. I liked both games but they both had massive problems that the reviews did not reflect. Critics have just realised that blindly praising Bioware does them no favors, it's a shame they haven't realised that about a lot of other companies but that's life. Non of this has to affect your enjoyment of the game but these are not good scores, they aren't even average scores really, not for Bioware.

If they survive this I hope they learn from it. You can't take the amazing IPs that are Mass Effect and Dragon Age and then give us mediocrity. Like from the looks of it this game is not completely terrible, I will still buy it and I think i'll probably like it but it's not gonna be the amazing game I want them to make.
To be fair to them, they have a lot to live up to.

How can the F up the storytelling and writing - that's what Bioware is known for!!!! They did the same thing in Inquisition, some of the writing in that game was just soo stupid. I still think I am gonna like this game, probably more than Inquisition but I don't think I'll love it like previous Bioware titles. Maybe next time tho, who knows.

So far the best score is from PC gamer tho. That's interesting, I expected ign and polygon to shill and it looks like they did a bit but the PC gamer article probably isn't shilling. Then again the other reviews are all terrible so eh. :lmfao:

It's really embarrassing and cringey but then it's obviously written to be that way intentionally soo, idk. I think that sort of thing is amusing and enjoyable in appropriate quantities. Always good to remember that the DA Origins sex scenes came from an "AAA production" too, and it was a masterpiece despite them.

Don't we already have threads discussing animation issues? I think the comment was in relation to the dialogue... which I for one found amusing and slightly endearing (if only in that's it is super rare to see a protagonist behaving awkwardly / shy). It's really embarrassing and cringey but then it's obviously written to be that way intentionally soo, idk.

I still remember "we want to keep romances a secret til the game releases" comments. I guess nobody told the advertising department or whoever it is who decides what can and can't be talked about.

Is it just me who never really liked Shepard that much? I'm not saying the new character will be better but As a character Shepard was a tad generic I guess, even with all the choices you had. Never really felt connected to Shepard. It was the story and companions that kept me going. I think femshep is very well voiced though, if that counts for something. Yeah Mark Meer is a great voice actor but femshep came off more invested in what was going on and I think that is because of the amazing job Hale did. I don't wanna say Meer did a bad job though and I am not saying I liked femshep much more. It's an rpg so the main character isn't supposed to be the most interesting character and that's fine. I guess what i'm saying is, I don't have this love for Shepard that a lot of fans seem to.

Yep, it's a 288.1MB update, dowloaded fine here, no freezes. For those who can't update, on your Origin's game library right click on the game cover and click "update game" option thanks, it's updating now.

I don't actually mind it, it's a bit unrealistic but at least there was a story based reason for it. Tho still I do have one issue When Cora uses her biotic shield Liam is surprised she is a biotic, her being a human biotic is important because they are rare. The issue is you can pick a training history that includes biotic abilities. So your character is potentially already a biotic and it never comes up. Like maybe it comes up later in the game I guess? Maybe all the Ryders have some skills in biotics and you can just choose to train them or not but you would expect Liam to mention it, he doesn't know you well either.
The trilogy didn't deal with Shepard being a biotic well enough either though, considering there were so many story lines about how human biotics are treated.

Problem is, Lead Facial Animator is often more than one person. It's usually a team. A director often sounds off on final decisions, not a lead animator. If were to really start blaming people for things, blame BioWare as a team for doing a mediocre job, not one person who you think is not qualified. That is where the witch hunt stuff becomes a problem. It doesn't matter if hes right about the position or not, he still should have did his homework and not imply she got the job because of her sex, which he did in his article. That is yellow journalism. wait what?! Did he really imply that? People like this make me hate that I share the species with them A good chunk of the hate for this game is about politics. Like that's not an excuse to write off the actual legitimate criticism but there are a lot of people who think bioware is doing things like hiring unqualified developers because they are women or minorities. They also think bioware is making female characters unattractive for feminist reasons, excluding white people, pandering to gay people blah blah ect ect. Like maybe not all of it is completely unfounded but most of it is obvious bs.

Even if she was the "lead animator" she's not the one who chose to release the game to the public with the animations in that state. Anyway, I highly doubt this issue is down to one specific person.

Wasn't this the Ralph Retort responsible for singling her out? I'm pretty sure he isn't on good terms with KIA. I guess but they're making a big deal out of the issue at KIA because BioWare took posted that image, and dunno but I think all the related tweets on her feed has been removed. I'm not saying they aren't involved. I don't ever look at KIA but I remember a lot of drama over them kicking people off and dissociating with people over harassment. Maybe they have changed since then I don't know. They also hate Ralph because well he's an asshole who goes after people personally like this all the time.

He isen't, but he was also a major supporter of GamerGate early on and has sort of channeled to into his own hardcore group of followers. GG is not responsible for this one, but I shed no tears for them anyway since they created the monster and let it run amok. About half of GG has always hated him. Like GG is dead (for real this time) I don't care about them being blamed for everything it's just funny but lets not remove the focus from Ralph. Make sure you don't make fun of him on twitter tho, he'll block you! He's blocked me like three times for this, idk why he keeps unblocking me only to block me again but it's very hilarious.
