Sort of a random question. Do you guys actually manage to roleplay Scott? Sure, you can have RP reasons behind picking certain dialogue wheel choices, but there is SO much auto-dialogue that he doesn't really seem like he would be my character. I'm not too bothered by this as this is my first ME game and I'm not invested in the franchise, as opposed to DA, but I was wondering what other people's experience was. Yeah, there is still plenty of room for roleplay! Personally though, I love having a more defined protagonist with a personality. It's one of the reasons I can't stand the Inquisitor, my least favorite BioWare protagonist. Hawke was a lot of fun with the sarcastic personality and there were still enough blanks for you to fill in. The Warden had very well-written dialogue and the origin stories really helped in becoming more invested/immersed in the world. I just can't get into the Inquisitor at all, and it really hurts my enjoyment of an already poorly handled game. I ended up creating an entire original story that brings together my original characters with my warden and Hawke...yet I can't seem to care about bringing the world of Inquisition into it. I really enjoyed having the choice of four different dialogue types for Ryder and found myself working with emotional and professional. It certainly helps set everything up for personal interpretation/headcanon and filling up the blanks in Scott's life. ...That's just me though. If you had asked me before Andromeda, I would've said I'm more invested in the Dragon Age series...but Andromeda has changed that. I'm more excited about exploring Scott's story than starting over with yet another character in Dragon Age 4 after how poorly handled Inquisition was.

I'm not a professional proof reader, but part of my job is reviewing code, so if you ever need a hand with beta-ing, I'm more than happy to help! I like what you've got so far! Thanks man. I'll take you up on that as I get going. Would be to good to get another Gil fan's perspective when I get into his dialogue. Trying to make him as real as possible. Maybe not with the sexy bits though. The next chapter has Scott sex. And I'm already feeling awkward at the idea of other people having insights into my perspective and possible kinks! That was wonderful! I really enjoyed reading it! It's always interesting seeing things like this and having these characters fleshed out through personal canon. I'd definitely be interested in the next chapter when you get to it, I love the idea of exploring Scott's life before Andromeda. I'd love to get around to that sometime myself, but I'm nowhere near as talented!

Aww...lots of hugs going out to all of you that need them!!! I can relate to a lot of what I've read and understand where some of you are coming from. I've never been in a relationship myself, yet I do often dream about what it is like...how it feels to experience such things. Like many of you, these video games help to fill that "hole" and allow me to form all these wonderful friendships and, better yet, experience romance as a man with another man. It's wonderful to see that Gil has helped out others as well and, yes, I can totally relate. I only wish I had something funny/smart to say and add to these conversations and participate more often, but I am not very good at socializing. That said, I love visiting this thread and seeing all the wonderful interpretations, analyses, artwork, and fan fiction. So much quality content here and looking forward to more!

Okay, so I've read through a lot of this thread (but only responded once / twice, maybe).... and I don't think I managed to find the answer to this anywhere but... I forgot that I had already locked in my Reyes romance and then Also locked in Gil's. I haven't gotten to Meridian yet, but I played through Gil's romance til end-game my last playthrough.. and I'm wondering if anyone can tell me how much I screwed myself over for the ending? Even if you can tell me what would happen pre-patch if you romance both Gil and Reyes would be much appreciated! I really don't want to have to rewind 20 hours to undo my Reyes romance, but if it seriously interferes with the end of the game (and romance character dialogue) then I might! The only difference if you have both Gil and Reyes locked in is during the final scene at Meridian. Instead of Reyes winking at you, Gil speaks with you. After, you still get romance dialogue with both.

Those are some very handsome Inquisitors! I'm never happy with mine...they always look strange! This is the first game where I've gone with the default at the start. Scott is pretty hot as he is, and he is just so adorable throughout! I've played through the game twice now, and I don't think I'll be able to do a custom Scott. The face just goes with the voice, so it would be pretty strange hearing Tom's voice on a custom face. I did mess around with the character creator, but I am never happy with the result. I've seen some very hot custom Scotts out there though and I envy them! I also really love default Garrett Hawke and Sheploo, but I started out with custom characters. The only custom character I've been happy with is my Warden, but it took several attempts to get something I really liked.

Hm, question for everyone. Let's say Gil show up in the sequel, along with Jill, Ryder, and everyone. How would you feel if Bioware suddenly just dropped the baby plot? You talk to Gil, and he gives some bs excuse (He changed his mind, Jill died, Jill changed her mind, Jill died, not enough sperm to go around, or Jill died), and the child thing just stops. Either if he has the child with Scott or Jill, how would that make you feel, because I'm not sure how they would include a plot like this if they brought them back. Unless it was handled with care and gave us the option to try again later (with marriage!), I wouldn't like that. I know it is silly, but I'm already emotionally invested in this storyline and the relationship. Scott and Gil both seem so happy whenever the baby thing is brought up, and Gil's relationship codex and his e-mail to Scott both reflect that. It would be just wonderful to see them as a happy, loving family. Sure the storyline could have been presented better, but the endpoint made me happy. There are plenty of ways that Gil could still be part of the crew/main storyline while he and Scott have a child. It doesn't have to invovle Jill and I, personally, wouldn't mind never seeing her again.

I just wish I could have Gil without the Jill. That would have been sooooo much better. Love his personality! He's not nearly as handsome as Kaidan for me personally, but he's more attractive then Reyes for sure. Eh, Reyes personality though is actually more attractive to me-it's really confusing. I just wish both of them had decent content instead of being the ones with nothing basically. I would love for their content to be run worthy so I could feel torn on who to romance each run, and never want to play as Sara. However, right now I feel like after my Sara run, it will be very hard to convince myself to do a third run-and even then playing as gay Scott would be a harder sale. So let's hope the patch really is a game changer. Oh golly, I'm quite the opposite! This is the first BioWare game where I feel conflicted about whom to romance! Reyes is a lot of fun and he made Kadara my favorite planet, while Gil is such a sweetheart and I love the idea of building a family with him! I've gone with Gil both times now, but I do feel guilty about leaving Reyes! I know I'd feel the same if I chose Reyes over Gil! (Used the method to romance both the second time though, so...) But yes, I am trying to remain optimistic about these "improvements" coming in future patches. I can't deny though that both Gil and Reyes made me happy despite their lack of content.

Living in the Midwest, I don't get to hear a lot of British accents, but when I do...whoops, there go my underwear. Like so many others have said, it's the personality that really draws you in. Gethin Anthony did a fantastic job, it's too bad people are so caught up in the story stuff that they're not giving the performance of the voice actor much attention. But I guess you really wouldn't have gotten to hear the best stuff if you didn't romance Gil, so... Out of the last few games, I find Gil the most attractive, both physically and personality wise...I love that look he gives Ryder when he says "Children huh?" or something like that during the infamous last kiss...melt.... That "hi" he gives you right before the sex scene gets me every time. I'm so happy with the casting choice on this one. ...Although I am totally biased because I love Renly. Also, definitely agree with that last part.

Gil is so handsome. I just wish he had higher-quality textures at all times. I'm on PS4, but I don't think that's the reason why sometimes his face looks higher quality in some scenes but not others? He definitely looks higher quality during cutscenes like his love scene, the scene where he is strapping Ryder into his armor, and at the end of the game when he and the crowd meet Ryder and Gil gives (or does not give) him a kiss. I think that's one of the reasons it was so easy to fall for him. He's definitely my type even though he wasn't exactly the type of redhead I imagined before we had any images of him. The excellent voice acting by Gethin Anthony is just the cherry on top. He wasn't given enough scenes to show off his talent, but the romanctic bits still make my heart melt. It sounds so genuine!

I can't express how much I love this wonderful man. Words just wouldn't do it justice. I somehow found myself watching the Kaidan/Sheploo romance on YouTube and it brought back some wondeful feelings. I have nothing but fond memories of my time with Kaidan amd he will always have a special place in my heart. He was one of the highlights of the original trilogy for me. I still remember how happy I was when I first got the date scene at the Citadel and they finally confessed their feelings... I'm now feeling nostalgic and want to go through the original trilogy again to be with my first video game boyfriend again...but I'll wait until the time is right.

I just remembered another scene they could fix: movie night. Scott should hold Gil. They do it with the other love interests, so there's no reason Gil and Scott can't have that as well. It's a small thing, but it would be nice to see. Probably copy paste from the female version and Gil's body is too big to use the same animation for the holding part You're probably right...which means Scott's hand is going right through Gil's body! Definitely hope they fix this bit! I just remembered another scene they could fix: movie night. Scott should hold Gil. They do it with the other love interests, so there's no reason Gil and Scott can't have that as well. It's a small thing, but it would be nice to see. That reminds me. Did this eye patch fix the fact that Scott didnt look at Gil in the film night and looked over his head? I can't believe I didn't notice that before, but you're right! I just got the movie night scene and unfortunately Scott is still looking up instead of looking at Gil with loving eyes. Ugh...I hope they know that this scene needs some little fixes for Gil. I think they could also have crew members hanging out in the outpost on planets where we can have additional conversations with them. I want to bring Gil out of Tempest and have him experience the planets with me. And yes, Gil is welcome to sleep in the pathfinder's bed any time. Why, of course he is! But yes, I agree with both posts. Little things like that would not only help to enhance the relationship, but would just be absolutely adorable! Mass Effect 2 did that with Kaidan/Ashley/Liara and Mass Effect 3 with Kelly and Tali, so I don't see why it couldn't happen here.

I dont care what it takes. I want lots of Gil in the future and in MEA2. I need him and Scott to be happy in love and inseperable. I hope bioware understand the vicegrip they have on my heart. Removing or reducing the only shipboard gay romance from mea2 is just not something i can see them justifying. Yeah, I've noticed that a lot of people either want him gone, or believe that he will be off-ship in the next game. It would be a pretty bad move for BioWare to get rid of the only gay male on the Tempest and give him a minor or nonexistent role. He already has very little content as it is....I don't want to believe that they would screw us over again by getting rid of poor Gil. There is so much that they could do with his character. If he has to be off-ship for whatever reason, he should at least have a constant presence throughout the game and NOT just disappear after a small scene. Of course, I'd prefer for him to stay on the Tempest. That way he'd be guaranteed to at least be part of the main story. At least in this forum...there seems to be a lot of hate for the poor guy. It's why I love being in this thread, surrounded by fellow Gil fans. There's just so much to love about him and my Scott is very happy with his amazing boyfriend! I agree that I want to see them together and inseparable! They are so adorable together!

On my drive home the ME3 romance theme came on and I realized that we didn't really have a great theme this time around, did we? I really love the "I was lost without you" theme and wouldn't have minded some kind of music to carry us through the relationship. I think this is one of my favorite images from the story....what led up to this moment, what it's leading to, the intensity in the eyes...the Bokeh effect sparkling in the background. I definitely agree with this! I really loved that "I Was Lost Without You" played during the scenes with Kaidan in Mass Effect 3. It's such a beautiful song that reminds me of the amazing romance between male Shepard and Kaidan. It still remains my favorite video game song to this day. Brings a tear to my eye when I listen to it. I was hoping Andromeda would have something similar...there's something that plays during the kiss with Reyes, but I'm not sure if it's the "romance theme" for this game. Anyway, I'm really curious about where they will go with what was announced today. Will they give Gil/Reyes more content in the current game along with fixing the animations...or should we expect only minor changes with nothing major until DLC? Also curious about the improved "logic, timing, and continuity" things for relationships. I admit I don't mind how things currently play out...it would feel strange to go through the romance again with additional content added in the middle or completely changed. I can only hope this is good news for Gil!

Hmm... I think the reason why I enjoyed this storyline so much is because it's something that is constantly on my mind. I'd love to have children someday and I do think about what it would be like. I'm not at that stage in life yet, but I'd welcome it with open arms when the time is right. Getting to experience this through Gil's romance was an unexpected and welcome surprise. Gil and Scott seem so happy when they talk about having multiple children at the end...and that kiss was really sweet. Could it have been handled a bit better? Definitely. Gil deserves much more attention and love than what he was given. I'm not fond of Jill, same as many here. But, I am happy and appreciate what Neil Pollner has given us. I love the fact that it is the gay romance that has the option of building a family. I can understand why it's not something everyone wants and I'm happy for you all that you do have the option to say no and still have a very happy and loving relationship with Gil! He is such a sweetheart either way! That said, I am so, so happy with how the romance played out and just thinking about Gil and Scott being happy, loving fathers gives me such warm feelings. Well...that's just my two cents anyway. It just breaks my heart that I seem to be in the minority here and that having children with him is seen as the "wrong" choice in this thread. Are we still putting these things in spoiler tags? Anyway...I don't want Gil to be written out of any potential sequels/DLC. He is a great character that really deserves to be given more screen time and content. This is one storyline I want to see developed further! Gil is still without a doubt one of my favorite characters in the series and definitely my favorite in Andromeda. (Funny that Neil Pollner is the one that gave me my two favorite characters...) ...Also it wouldn't hurt to have more of Gethin Anthony's lovely voice...

For those of you who were fortunate enough to get Gil banter/squadmate banter about Gil out in the field while driving the Nomad, which combination of squadmates were you using at the time? Peebee and Drack. I mainly used Peebee and Vetra but I don't think they mentioned him in banter....well...they might have at some point but they weren't kidding about squadmates having a lot to say. Peebee and Vetra talk quite a bit.

I started a new game plus to complete the Reyes romance but...it's going to be very hard to resist Gil! I'll feel so guilty flirting with him and not taking it anywhere! I love him too much to not flirt though! You can do both Gil and Reyes romance in one playthrough. Honestly...I might just do that if I can't stay away from him...I'd feel guilty about it...but he is just too wonderful to not romance. Well let's hope there's actual DLC for the game at this point, and that DLC contains Gil content. Anyone else a little concerned about all the SJW hate starting to be a significant thorn at BioWare's side? All that metabombing and "face is tired" meme'ing was heavily influenced by people wanting to shit on BioWare for their "pro-lesbian transsexual agenda". EA may not look kindly on that. I'd LOVE to see more Gil in a DLC because he definitely deserves more screen time! (I was surprised that even Lexi didn't have anywhere near as much content as others...considering her voice actress...) Unfortunately...previous BioWare DLC hasn't been any good at including crew members/advisors. I'm hoping they won't make that mistake again though! After how they treated the m/m group, it would be awful if everyone else got romance content in DLC while we get excluded again. (Still bitter about Kelly and Chakwas being absent from the Citadel DLC!) Just got Gil's romance scene. It was actually better than I was expecting! And now I got the email right after... and I'm dead. I'M JUST DEAD FROM ALL THE CUTE. YES THAT'S EXACTLY HOW I FELT! I'm already finding it hard to resist his charm...he's got me! He still makes my heart race every time we talk. There's also one of the outcomes of pursuing his romance that I can't resist... Scott being a father which is just the sweetest.

I started a new game plus to complete the Reyes romance but...it's going to be very hard to resist Gil! I'll feel so guilty flirting with him and not taking it anywhere! I love him too much to not flirt though!

I just got another conversation between Peebee and Gil on the Nexus. This one is easy to miss if you aren't doing the smaller quests. It's not much, but it's always nice to hear his voice and see him interacting with the others.

I wonder if the codex changes if you lock in another romance. Once you complete Reyes, it shows up on codex relationships as a locked romance. Where is this relationship codex? I read about it but certainly couldn't find one or anything about Reyes.

So who do you all like better? Ryder or Shepard? I think everyone on this thread is basically fully aware of my thoughts on who's cuter, but aside from that I really appreciate that Ryder's my age and not a hardened war hero. Don't get me wrong, Shepard was a great character, but it's easier to step into Ryder's shoes. I'll start off by saying I love, love, love Shepard. By the third game, I was so emotionally invested in his story. It was the first time I was able to play as an openly gay protagonist and I was so happy when he confessed his feelings for Kaidan. There's so much to love about Shepard and his story with so many good moments throughout that helped me when I needed it. Shepard came into my life at the right time and I will always be grateful for that. That said, I honestly have to say I prefer Scott. I love that he is a younger protagonist with a more defined personality. He's hilarious and adorable and I always enjoyed listening to him when he had something to say. It was easy to believe that Scott and the Tempest crew were part of a family as they got to know each other better and I loved that he contributed to the banter at times. I really like that there are four ways to define his personality in conversations. It flows so much better than the Paragon/Renegade system and is definitely superior to the bland Inquisitor, which was probably the most boring BioWare protagonist I have played. Scott easily became my favorite video game protagonist. It was just so much fun exploring his story and building all these friendships/relationships. I played as an emotional/professional mix leaning more towards the emotional side. Shepard might have Kaidan (a relationship that still means a lot to me!), but Scott has Gil and... I just really love that a gay Scott and his amazing boyfriend can have a child together in game canon. This alone makes me just so happy and I really need to see this storyline come to fruition in future games. So...yeah. I would love to see Scott return in a sequel with the man that he loves. I'm really surprised by how much I'm enjoying my first play-through romancing Gil. This might be blasphemy, but part of me thinks I actually prefer him to Kaidan... which is HUGE considering Mshenko literally got me through some dark times and inevitably inspired me to come out. The thing is, I think I see more of myself in Scott and Gil than I ever did with Shepard and Kaidan. Not to mention, it literally took an entire trilogy for that relationship to build. I really hope we'll get to see more of Gil in future DLC or a sequel. Honestly, I've grown so attached to Ryder, it would really be a shame if they didn't continue his story in the next game. I can definitely relate! Mshenko came into my life when I needed it most. I had never experienced a gay romance storyline in a video game before, so I had no idea what to expect. It's what drew me to Mass Effect and gave me an amazing and unforgettable experience. I went on to play BioWare's other games, but no other gay romance even came close to Mshenko...it's why I had low expectations for Andromeda's gay options. I was prepared to be disappointed again after how awful Inquisition was...yet both Gil and Reyes won me over and quickly became some of my favorite BioWare characters and romances. Ok so i'm a bit annoyed after what was a very exciting and dramatic finale. you lose a dialogue option with Gil on meridian if you didnt have a childand you dont get to kiss him in front of the crowd You don't?! That's such a shame! I loved the option to tell him you did if for their future children, but they really should have kept the kiss for everyone. It was really sweet and a very satisfying way to end the game/romance.

Finally finished the game... I'm very satisfied with how this story played out. That was more content at the end than I expected. It was really sweet when they held hands before the final battle. Not only that, but to get another kiss after the battle and talk of "children plural"?! He was also just so adorable when talking on Meridian. Yes, this man has my heart. It was so much better than I was expecting. Out of the m/m romance options we've had in BioWare games, Kaidan was the only one I loved...so I was preparing myself for another disappointing game. Yet...the more I found out about Gil leading up to release...the more interesting he seemed. He already had my attention just because Gethin Anthony was doing the voice, and all the little bits we got just had me more and more excited. We might have gotten the short end of the stick compared to other romances...but for once I am actually happy with what we got. After completing this game, I can say without a doubt that Andromeda has my two favorite BioWare romances and two of my favorite characters in the series. It might be an unpopular opinion...but I absolutely loved Andromeda and enjoyed it so much more (and I do mean a lot more) than Dragon Age Inquisition. I'm looking forwards to any potential sequel and really hope they continue the Ryder storyline. I need to see Scott and Gil raising a child together! Really, I'm so happy that Scott and Gil can be dads. It was totally unexpected!

I finally got up to the sex scene with Gil and it was actually pretty good and really sweet. Shortly after I got the baby conversation and naturally I agreed to becoming a father! His whole romance has been so satisfying and enjoyable. He melts my heart. I am nearly finished with the game and I can't wait to see the rest of the romance! Gil is definitely my favorite character and I am so happy with him. I couldn't have asked for anything better. He's perfect! Now I'm really hoping for a sequel that continues the Ryder family story to see these relationships grow across multiple games. (Haven't spoiled the ending though so I don't even know if a sequel would be possible!) It would be interesting to see how they'd handle this storyline. That said, I really love that we have codex entries detailing our relationships with the crew. Seeing how much Gil's has changed- from friends to lovers- was nice.

so...5 flirts with Gil in...still not even a kiss. Zero flirts with Peebee she tried to mount me. ffffff... Being gay in Andromeda is lonely. So this. I didn't realize how long it takes for romances to begin lol. 40+ hours in and just got Peebee anti-gravity sex offer which I was like "no thanks bye!". Meanwhile, still just flirts with Gil, haven't even met Reyes yet and Vetra still stuck on first flirt conversation lol. Pushing Asari on the player is strong in this one, I see you Mac Walters... Also, since I haven't watched the most of the Gil spoiler vids, I finally saw the scene where he: talks about babies. That was handled cool and the flirt was hilarious and very self-aware in a good way. Good conversation all around, this is definitely a fitting topic for a colonization expedition like this so I'm satisfied. Gonna see how it progresses but so far so good. Ah...so that's where she offers. I'd read about it, but Peebee never seemed like she wanted that with my Ryder. I was already in a relationship with Gil so it was just two friends spending time together. It was sweet. Glad I avoided that though! Would have been awkward...

Yes he is! It's such a shame people are writing him and Gil off just because they are human. They're without a doubt my favorite BioWare romances and very interesting characters. He made Kadara so much fun!
