Kind of a bummer that they didn't go for an EA logo on the shirt instead of Blasto.... Now that would've caused a real outburst here On another note, although the new design doesn't bother me I'm gonna stick to the hoodie. Blasto is awesome but it isn't something I would wear.

Considering that my girlfriend has more of my hoodies at her place now than I have in my closet, I think they must be.

They should've just stealthily added a Blasto plushy, complete with weapons, that you can find somewhere on the Tempest and collect it for your quarters.

Ok, I have to say something here in defense of the artist's choice of clothing. The choice of clothing makes sense. It's practical clothes. You're not going to take dresses or tuxedos to Andromeda for a 600 year journey. You're taking what is practical and makes sense. With that being said, I was a combat medic in the Army and some of the female hospital staff looked damn good in Army PT gear. If you're attractive and wearing sweats, you're still attractive. I also got the headphones thanks to a fellow forum member. Now I can see Angaran influence creeping into clothing over time. I can see a Versace dress two or three years down the road if the initiative continues to be successful.

I said it myself before that this will be the argument (excuse) for not presenting any variety. There's quite a lot to be said about that being an excuse. First, and foremost, if you outfit the player character with all the sex appeal of Mao's blue ants, every human would wear the exact same outfit. They don't. Even Cora has something more appealing to wear. Also the Initiative would have made the same choices when it comes to armor and weapons. They would have chosen the most efficient gear of their time and left it at that. What you develop afterwards with the resources you harvested is a different matter, but same could be said for cloths. No, this is a conscious decision to use one and the same mesh all over, with minimal adjustments and slightly different textures.

I still like my answer better, but yours is just as valid. I agree that it is some re skin, but variety in any initiative is going to be limited due to economic factors and equalizing all the participants. No one wore civilian clothes in the military until they were deep into advanced individual training. And even then, the only store accessible was the base PX. Everyone was styling in the same clothes, same haircut and same birth control glasses.

No one wore civilian clothes in the military until they were deep into advanced individual training. And even then, the only store accessible was the base PX. Everyone was styling in the same clothes, same haircut and same birth control glasses. And yet this isn't the military. This is a private endeavour carrying all kinds of people. Even if you only have the choice between three large groups to wake up, it's still finance, science and military. I'm well aware what the realities of such an edeavor would be, if someone were to undertake something like this in the far future. Efficiency before privat needs. But they already deviated from that in the character creation. The most efficient hairstyle would be a buzz but. So everyone would have that. Makeup, who needs it? Outfit everyone with the same set of cloths, the same set of armors and a low variety of weapons, depending on individual training. That would be all. I'm sure the realism card will be played again and again to explain it away, but that's out of the window, even looking at your own ship where only Ryder and maybe Liam are stuck with the same Mao-like outfits. Suvi looks more appealing as does Cora. Apart from the fact that even NPCs on the Nexus have at least a low variety of different outfits. I suspect the reasons behind that are simple. Cora or Suvi don't run around in their civies and the NPCs usually just stand in their predestined spots without moving at all. My guess is, they took the easy way out. It would take some fiddling to create non clipping outfits for different animations. Not a lot, as is proven by the modders of other games, such as Bethesda's, but it takes work. And they just didn't care.

Or they could just use an outfit that actually looks like it belongs in ME. I know, crazy right... My thoughts exactly. The only two persons wearing the hoodie in MEU are Shepard and Starkid (and now - 'Deluxe' Ryder too). The leather jacket was Sheploo-exclusive but looked somewhat fitting, Ryders' 'biker' jacket w\scarf is nothing like ME-fashion we've ever seen (Why not take Addison's version instead?). This outfit is a joke, and it does remind me of Sims (3, not even 4). Why couldn't it be a t-shirt? And the headphones make no sense at all. Hello, people, they've got implants and omnitools! Not to mention that wearing 'ear buds' fits the sport exercises way much better. So far the best 'casual' outfit belongs to ME1 - simple, stylish, practical. ps: It must look especially ridiculous on femRyder during Kadara port episodes.

ps: It must look especially ridiculous on femRyder during Kadara port episodes. I didn't play the male so far, but I can imagine how it must look on the bro. Something along the lines of gangbanger, fresh from the hood, I would guess. They should have included some badass arm tatoos and some blink for the effect.

Or they could have just used something from their concept art. Every single one of these outfits would be preferable to that laughing stock of an outfit they gave us. wtf do the female models have those weird holes everywhere?? Like every male outfit looks like normal but very female outfit has weird stupid holes, looks impractical?? How does one flounce itself leisurely around with that skirt without it riding up and exposing your undies? How does one run fast and jump over obstacles without face planting all the time or flashing others? "No, dear angara, showing our underwear is not a noted human tradition, it's only the pathfinder doing that, please just ignore her, NO please DONT TAKE THAT OFF...." Like.. Seriously every single fryder outfit has holes in impractical places.. Free backs-perfect for all those angaran who dont like aliens, just "stab here and be over with it" it really looks quite like fetish wear.. Which is super nice, don't get me wrong, I'd buy those if they'd exist in RL(and if I was rich) but MEA isnt a fetish sexparty, is it? The second from left lower row looks like a fetish latex skirt I've seen on a kinky play party(but the person who wore it had no undies on..) Its nice, good access for fucking, But I wouldn't walk around with a skirt that shows saras underwear, are we a JPG female chara or what? i mean if your fRyder is an exhibitionist, goodspeed you, but..can the rest of us get at least a few options that dont look impractically sexified? like almost no normal looking clothing, Why are there so many are skirts? Dont women wear trousers too? And then there are those shoes you can't run in properly and that will get stuck in grating or even break your ankle when hopping over the railing on nexis or tempest.. (lucky we arent like PC in DayZ then. Breaking legs by climbing over a fence...)
They grey one or the first red long skirt would look nice for special events, like a date.. But that for the first contact with the angara??Its even more inappropriate than anything else we got.. The males ones look super samey and boring in colors.. Like..why not match the two designs and give both models sensible and sexy versions.. I hear a lot of guys that like clothing be annoyed that their options are so limited in comparison-now the game designer does that too.. But they dont have to.. Why can't we get an outfit like sheps alliance uniform in 3?? something that is classy and appropriate to wear for a representative of the initiative on official occasions. If we could just choose ALL outfits no matter the gender of our chara then I say: go on, implement it. Then people can have their sexy sara and I can dress in reasonable clothing that scott gets per those designs. Freedom and choices for the win. and maybe I can dress scott in a dress and have him look sexily stupid for once. He'd sport that dress fabulously and would look great in heels., I'm sure. ..

The dress in ME2 and ME3 was retarded and created the most retarded picture in the trilogy (garrus romance in the dress). This one at least is actually casual - as in something to wear at home. People don't come home from work and put on a skintight dress and high heels. That's not casual.

the dress in ME2 had a non casual origin, it was for a special event with the thief KASUMI, you were invited and you HAD to wear a dress to enter.
then, the dress became a bonus that you could wear when you want for the rest of ME2.
and it came back for ME3 too...
but Ryder in dress could be nice to see too ! just to see it.

The description does say Athletic and the outfits seem pretty typical of someone who's dressed for a workout, headphones and all.
You can't trust SAM to stream workout tunes without interrupting about emails or some other such nonsense.
Not to mention the SAM implant is mono only and doesn't support high fidelity stereo audio - true story, I read in on the extranet.
If anything the outfit does put a lot of Ryder's dialogue in better context.

so Ryder has an implant but still needs headphones , fascinating.
what's going on in 2185 + 600 that they're so obsessed with retro early 21st century fashion and music ... and everything really.
