Am I the only one who thinks that his "ugly teenager" beard is kinda hot? But I do agree that it should be customizable just like Hawke in DA:I. Personally, I think he's fine the way he looks now.

If I remember correctly, Hawke was customizable in Dragon Age 2. And we saw "bearded DefaultHawke" in trailers, even in the cinematic one. At least, let us make minor changes like removing facial hair, changing hair/eye color...

Well I created a twitter account and asked Ian Frazier and Mike Gamble about this and Cora's shotgun. I really hope they'll listen and add this two little features. I'm more intrigued by the idea of the shotgun, to be honest. It likely wouldn't be as great as the Piranha, but it's so nice-looking. Scott's beard is like that because it's his model's beard: Brewis' stubble is better than Scott's sad, patchy thing. I often keep stubble, whenever acceptable, because I've grown to hate shaving. My stubble doesn't look like I'm in Middle School, though. I suspect that they got halfway through the creation of Scott's beard and gave up. The hairs look very real; but there should be about 3 times as many of them.

The CC is getting updated, that's good, but let us customize DefaultRyder! Honestly, it shouldn't be hard to do. Because I just hate Scott crappy ugly teenager beard! I NEED to remove it! It is the first time in a game that I toggle "always show helmet". Please Bioware! I understand the desire... I even modded DA2 so I could mod Hawke's beard away. But Bioware has a very solid history of not allowing us to alter the default appearances. I remember reading somewhere a long time ago it had something to do with licensing - especially if the default is based off of a real person. But who knows how true that is.

Whatever the issue is, if the current CC is representative of the limitations we get using scanned heads I'd rather they don't use scanned heads at all. Not worth the trade off for whatever the supposed benefit is. Not that I can think of any actual benefit to doing it this way to begin with.

He's not that bad Agreed. It's hyperbole, for sure. No sooner than I posted this, I logged back on and played some more. I thought, "It's not as bad as my imagination, or faulty memory, make it." I'd shave, if I were Scott; but that's entirely a personal preference. They likely thought that it gave him a slightly more grown-up look.

I was being sloppy above. Yeah, all the heads are scanned. The problem is that the CC heads have had a bunch more work done for them -- alternative elements, coding to link the CC with the model, etc. All doable, sure, but this is a fairly major feature request, rather than just unchecking a box someplace. I'm sure, as you said, its not as simple as just unchecking a box. Faceman is probably on the right track, it likely is a contractual issue with the models in how they use the likeness or something. Still seems kinda silly to me, but that's why I'm not a lawyer I guess. Though I would think Jayde would be happy to have that game model customized.

I actually like what I can get out of him a great deal more than default Scott. I would say preset 2 is closer to default MRyder than 3, I like preset the better, too, less blocky head, higher eyes and a straighter nose.

I get the feeling there is some contractual clause that won't allow the actors face to be modded in CC. Same thing happened in the old trilogy with Shepard's face (Mark Vanderloo).

Given that Sheploo was unchangable I doubt they'll do it, and it could be that they can't make them customisable without a fair bit of work. Plus they'll want to keep the defaults pure and unchanged so they're 'iconic'. <---- trying not to pmsl as I type that ut they use those presets a bit modified for npcs.. like for example that scavenger guy you meet see on eos sie 1:promise after restarting the generators.. he has her face. really. Im not joking. oh and the first 2 NPCS that look like sara and scott you have when you use the tram on the hyperion the first time in the whole game. so yeah,scavenger boy uses sarahs face-texture... his lips are fucked, almost as ugly as scott's btw.. scotts lips now look like he uses weird flesh colored lip liner.. the only flesh colored thing my scott should take in his mouth is reyes dick.
