Not to be a dumbass, but how advanced are they exactly? They don't seem to have any sort of advanced fleet or ships except shuttles. *God please don't embarrass me*

They are not more technologically advanced. THEY (as in, their selves, now what they presently have) are more technologically advanced. Various circumstance prevents them from being objective superiors to the MW/Kett/Remnant drones left over. The Helius Cluster is an arena where everyone is able to fight each other, but their stories allude to greater possibilities.

Just wanted to say that equal and on par mean the same thing. Maybe you meant more advanced? They seem pretty technologically advanced enough to build AI, but they've lost a lot thanks to the Kett. So, I'd say they're close, but currently a little less advanced than the Initiative. The Kett, on the other hand, are less technologically advanced, but are much more advanced in biological science.

Well, they used to have a fleet, but either the Scourge or the Kett destroyed them. Either Evra or Jaal, can't remember which, mentions that at one point.

On the surface they seem a little less advanced than the MW races, but as you go thru the game you learn how much more advanced they were before the Scourge and Kett. So perhaps it's better to distinguish between the current day Angara and their ancestors? Makes answering the poll tricky...

I think they used to be about on par with the Initiative race. The Scourge put them into a dark age where they lost space travel. They were just coming out of that when the khet arrived eighty years before the AI asrrived

Their tech seems less advanced than the Milky Way races by the time the Initiative arrives at Heleus cluster. This is hinted a few times in the game. Any information about their technological development before the Scourge is less than reliable because the Jardaan were still in the cluster, so they were either still making the Angara or the Angara were stil using remnant tech instead of their own.

They arent at all.
Because Spoilers went and spoilered them.
They inherited everything they have and are still relying on remnant now to "advance" themselves
If you took them away from remnant ruins they'd struggle to figure out how toast works.
Much in the same way a spoiled pet can't survive in the wild.
And the radiated, cat people sound a lot like pets to me.

They are technology. The Jardaan saw the Matrix movies and thought to themselves "Living batteries, now that's a good idea."

They are tools created by a higher power to regulate and oversee the worlds most likely. Pardon my Martian but that's some deep shit. Humanity is real life kind of has the same purpose.
I would say on par when considering both the Angara and the Milky Way species advanced to their current status due to technology from a higher power.

Well, they used to have a fleet, but either the Scourge or the Kett destroyed them. Either Evra or Jaal, can't remember which, mentions that at one point. The lookouts on Voeld mention it was Kett that destroyed their military. The Kett spread misinformation between the angaran colonies which lead to infighting among the angara, the kett kidnapped the angaran leadership which made them an easy target (also see quest: Past, Present, Future). They also mention that their war against the kett was failing until Evfra took over as leader of the Resistance.
As to how advanced the Angara are, I think they are about equal with the Initiative. If you talk to the doctor on Voeld Ryder says that the Initiative is not any more medically advanced than the angara. And they both only have FTL travel. Biologically they are more advanced and we all know why.

Some angara technology and science is on par with the Initiative. Predictably, they're even better at a few things. The one area in which they're way behind is in starship technology. They used to use remnant vessels. Unlike the Initiative species and their Reaper-tech, the angara lost their advanced starship technology in the Scourge. They've done very well to engineer the vessels they have in so short a period of time.

Spoilers about some significant plot reveals. I'm so iffy on this. Angaran relics found suggest that their "ancestors" didn't quite look the same as modern angarans. I think, somehow or other, the Jardaan history has unknowingly be latched on to the non-history of the artificially-created The Jardaan are the ones who had the advanced technology. All theory, of course, but it's how I interpret things.

All theory, of course, but it's how I interpret things. I got this feeling as well. The statues at Mithrava look like Angara, but are slightly different. I think these statues are statues of the Jardaan and the modern angara just assume they are their ancestors because of their similarities. I guess they kinda are their ancestors in a round about way. I'm not going to disregard their advances, however, just because they got them from the Jardaan. As I don't see that as any different from the MW races getting all their tech from the Protheans/Reapers. Why is this thread not it the Spoilers section?

They definitely primitives where it counts. Every major Milky Way but the Quarians would push their sh1t in. If we're talking about a direct assault, then the quarians would be at a serious disadvantage, but they would probably just pursue exploiting remnant technology rather than face them head-on. If they were to manage to control it, the angarans would be screwed.

Point is - the topic is interesting. Try to make sense of your thoughts.

Instead of being disciplined military they're sensitive boys who like to play with tech and shittier with rifles. And they got no Cabal biotics
