Whats your secret? No anxiety, no discomfort, nothing ever? 9 hours sucks though, I'm a 7 hour sleeper and thats already long enough! In my case, it's not a choice. In order to even be functional in classes, naps were mandatory and that's never comfortable doing it in public on a couch no matter how often you see college students do it. Don't ever trade for idiopathic hypersomnia. You'll sleep whether you want to or not even while driving if you tire out and it can happen easily. Melatonin capsules, muscle relaxers, and Benandryl can be used to help you along if you're home. Meditation is another. I've had nights where the mind is racing and I have to tell it, "Shhh, these concerns are important but we'll deal with them in the morning. For tonight, let it be fine, let it rest. It will be better to deal with it rested." And keeping a vibrate alarm on your phone and under or near your head will ensure you wake up on time. I think a friend of mine might be suffering from the same condition. She sleeps like a baby, instantly falls asleep in every vehicle and if she gets just one hour less sleep than her 9-10 hours schedule she can't even concentrate enough to drive a car safely to work. For a long time I thought that it was quirk of hers but when I saw it first hand it was quite shocking. Normally, if I get less sleep than usual I'm a bit cranky and have some troubles to concentrate on complex matters but nowhere near as bad. Also about my periodical bouts of insomnia, I can't do anything about it. I've been to a dozen different doctors and tried just as many different drugs and relaxation methods. Some of the drugs were really damn potent, that kind of potent that puts you to sleep forever you if you are not careful with the dosage. The problem is, my brain is immensely stubborn, if it does not want to sleep its simply not going to happen unless you sedate me. You'd have to knock me out to make me sleep - and I got some meds that do exactly that. The problem with that is even though they knock me out pretty good in a matter of minutes I wake up an hour later when most of the effect has vanished. And the insomnia continues. I'd have to find something that puts my mind at ease, just a little, thats probably the only way to improve my sleep somewhat.

I can sleep fairly easily if I'm relaxed enough, doesn't matter where I am. The trouble is that I'm too much of a heavy sleeper. I once slept through an earthquake. I'm the same way. Easy to fall asleep and then I'm dead to the world. Slept through construction work being done near the house, heavy thunderstorms, plane turbulence, loud music and/or televisions, etc. Alarms, Sirens, and barking dogs all wake me instantly though.

I have this huge lake right across my apartment, it stretches through several cities and I love going down there with my dog to get peace inside, it relaxes me. I take long walks with him along side this lake and it's so soothing. I love stuff like that xD

Random fact: my shoes only last 2-3 months until they suffer from terminal damage. I have no idea why, even when I buy really high quality shoes they start to fall apart in 8-10 weeks. Its mostly the soles that detach from the rest of the shoes, or the sides of the shoes simply tear open in that amount of time. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, its really frustrating. I know tons of people that have shoes that easily last them for a year or more, and they use and abuse them really hard.

I like to celebrate birthdays for the entire week. Today is my husband's birthday. I got him some gifts, we're taking a trip over the weekend, and every night (that we're home, anyway) I'm cooking him something Slavic (he's Polish and Ukrainian). Tonight is beet borscht with homemade pumpernickel bread.
Why not make a weeklong holiday over the fact that you survived another year? Wee!

I destroyed 3 size 42 shoes to finally realize the baggy 43/44 ones are better and for the greater good.

I've been dreaming about intersteller travel for as long as I can remember, and I wish magic was real (force spell casting and the like)
I will watch any free film on amazon prime and struggle to the end no matter how bad it is if its about some sort of intersteller event (and by god those big budget ones in the last coupole of years were dreadfully dull)

I ate lunch at the same restaurant during my work break for almost a year. In my defense, they had a huge menu, were inexpensive, and offered carry-out.
Meaning I could grab my food, eat, and still have 45 minutes to an hour of nap time before heading back into hell work.

On the topic of frugality, I only purchase store-brand or budget food or groceries when possible or feasible. It's more or less the same as what you get from any name brand, and you save plenty of $$$.

I never eat fast food from burger joints, or drink soda/fizzy drinks, nor those ready-made frozen dinners or other preservative laden stuff. I've also stopped buying pre-spiced meats or those that soak in some sauce. I prefer to prepare food from scratch, especially meat dishes or make my own tortillas.

I'd like to say me neither but that would be a lie. I love A&W teenburgers and will break down on occasion and splurge. I also find it cheaper to pick up a rotisserie supermarket chicken than it is to get a roasting chicken and cook it myself...which I actually enjoy because after a trip to the grocery store, I'm in no mood to cook. On the most part I'd rather get packs of meat and spice it myself than rely on pre-seasoned/sauced meats and, I prefer to do my own cooking too.

The rotisserie chicken here are smothered with some red sauce I don't like (and something in it aggravates my skin, too, gah). If I found chicken without that sauce, I'd consider it - I do like rotisserie chicken, even dry. The only take-aways we do eat (rarely), are from a local Chinese/Thai place - and wanting to try local Nepalese, but that's more restaurant food than simple takeout. Honestly, for me just driving by a McCrap-nalds is off-putting for the greasy smell, and I often take the road that goes past it.

Here the store I pick up the rotisserie chicken from is spices it, no sauce, and it's pretty good.I hear you about Rotten Ronnie's though, not much of a fan of theirs...mind you, they do have a tastey hot carmel sundea...but then so does Dairy Queen... And yes! Oriental food seems to taste better from a restaurant...I've tried my hand at oriental cooking but it never seems quite the same.
