I was just wondering. I know the Mass Effect series is basically the humans leading the charge against the Reapers and yet again it's basically a human element in Andromeda that is leading the charge. (yes we have other races of pathfinders as well) but the focus still remains that the human element is still the dominant one.
We are the one species without any special powers and other civilizations are waaay ahead of us in terms of technical scale, but we are still looked upon as the go-to race. Now i understand that the narrative has it framed around the human element and writers having us be the chosen race, but honestly, should the humans actually be the one race that dominates this franchise?
Should it be the advanced race of Asari or Salarians or Maybe the Quarians? Just asking.....I think i've added everybody, that i can possibly think of

Eh, all of you are speciest bosh'tets. The turians of course, they have the biggest military after all. Actually, the Citadel Council stepped in the First Contact War because humanity had a military that was more than easily a match for the Turians.

In Andromeda galaxy, it should have been Angara. They were created for it. Alternatively, if the real foe are not the kett, but the Remnant, then it should be kett. From MW races, Salarians that control the Krogans is the uber powerful unit of power.

The Treaty of Farixen means the turians have 5 times the amount of dreadnoughts the Alliance has. I don't remember any quote that implies that humanity was a match for the Hierarchy in anything but "potential". Could you point me to it?

When you want a problem shot, ask a turian. When you want a problem talked to death, ask an asari. When you want a new problem, ask a salarian. When you want a problem solved, ask a human.

Unfortunately, the readily accessible Wiki page says that both sides prepared for a full-scale interplanetary war which caught the Council's attention. It was somewhere... Also, the ratio is 5:3:1 Turians:Council:Citadel meaning that for every five Turian dreadnoughts, other Council races are allowed three and Citadel races one. Humanity gains a seat on the Council in 2183, meaning we have three Dreadnoughts per five Turian ones. Not 5 times difference. Also, humanity has the largest amount of Carriers. And we all know how air superiority can mess up a good battle.

As mentioned many times over the mass effect series, humans are unpredictable and resourceful, also they use tech not to outdo their opponent's, but to cover their own weaknesses.

Probably asari, since they had biggest leg-up in development. Turians could try to get on everyone through military, but that doesn't work well when there are salarians around. Actually, the Citadel Council stepped in the First Contact War because humanity had a military that was more than easily a match for the Turians. What? Humanity's fleet was nonexistent back then.

I can't remember when the amount of carriers was ever mentioned either, but regardless, during the OT the turian military is repeatedly aknowledged as the biggest one, while humans are reported to have a relatively low enlistment rate (the lowest of the major species IIRC?).

None of them would be leading the charge. It would be like the Allies in world war 2. The British would have fallen without the Soviets attacking the German Eastern front, and the Soviets would of lost, if it weren't for the Americans attacking the German western front. They all have an equal hand to play, and if they do not stick together, they could possibly lose the war.
Same principle in Mass Effect. They all have a hand to play, and no one race would be the dominate party. Humans are leading the charge in the game because its a fake story.

You say humans have no special powers, but its repeatedly stressed through all of the games that we are the most adaptable of the races. Humans are good at thinking outside the box, the other species are a little more set in their ways.

Also I see humans, along with the Turians and krogen as the most driven to 'rule' The krogen are their own worst enemies and don't adapt at all. The Turians would give us a run for the money but I think there is some mutual respect there and we would end up working together.

Most of of the above. All the council races have different but complementary strengths, the Angaran are native to Andromeda, the Krogan should be a Council race already. An equal partnership would be most beneficial.
Asari have the benefit of long life spans and can see the bigger picture.
Turians have the military proficiency to get things done.
Krogan are a force of reckoning.
Salarians hold the damn line.
Angara have the Andromeda savvy.
Humans are a catalyst for change.

Well from the trilogy, Humans are supposedly the most biologically diverse. Also as the new species on the block we have new ideas and ambition. As portrayed humans are very good at being opportunistic and taking over C-Sec after the Sarin debacle.
Turians would be the next most capable, but they have a history of being behind the Asari and Salarians. Asari live a millenia, so no rush. Salarians live too fast. Krogan are great soldiers but no scientists.
