I expected someone in ME:A of the quality of Kaidan for Male Ryder but seems like nope, still for me the best character and romance of all the games so far and seems like will be for a while (or ever)

I knew there was no way they could come up with a character that I loved half as much as I love Kaidan, but I was hoping they'd at least try. I don't feel like they tried very hard in MEA.

I can't express how much I love this wonderful man. Words just wouldn't do it justice.
I somehow found myself watching the Kaidan/Sheploo romance on YouTube and it brought back some wondeful feelings. I have nothing but fond memories of my time with Kaidan amd he will always have a special place in my heart. He was one of the highlights of the original trilogy for me. I still remember how happy I was when I first got the date scene at the Citadel and they finally confessed their feelings...
I'm now feeling nostalgic and want to go through the original trilogy again to be with my first video game boyfriend again...but I'll wait until the time is right.

Personally, I have fallen for quite a few MEA characters. Kaidan is great, but so are some of my new Andromeda friends and I'm happy to know them.

I don't feel it's fair to compare the new cast to Kaidan like he's a mold, even more so considering he was around for 3ish games and not just one (so far).

I agree.  I don't like to compare either.  That just sets one character up for being a disappointment.

Kaidan is fantastic in more ways than one and he will always own a piece of my heart, being my first video game bf and all that.  But I've fallen for Liam pretty hard.  But that's a story for another thread

Did anyone get the coloring book? Seems like everyone had a hard time drawing Luciano Costa.

There's just no one like Kaidan out there. Even, sadly, in MEA.

Yeah I definitely like the more subtle aspects to both his character and his relationship with Shepard. In the relationship they just seem so comfortable together and after the big hurdles they had to go through they probably have one of the most stable relationships in the game. Someone somewhere (can't remember) posted a few scenes with Kaidan and Shepard and how they touch each other often, just casually, and it makes the romance feel more organic and natural I think.

See I actually like Ashley in ME1 but I have a strong dislike for her in ME3 so I save Kaidan for character development purposes. I don't think he reacted too badly to unfaithfulness, he was calm and he wanted to know if it's true but he was very rational I think. Ashley reacted much worse and with insults towards the women (except for Tali of course) but even then I found it humorous rather than annoying. Besides it's not just Kaidan that said Shepard cheated. If you cheat on him with Jacob and have the Citadel dlc then Jacob says it too so apparently there was enough of an attachment for it to be considered cheating.
