Because it's the only thing that really provides us with a prominent cliffhanger near the end of the game. The Quarian Ark and it's transmitted message. So when they finished the main game, they obvously already knew that this can be provided, since it already was in the works.

yeah asme her I didn't think she did either because other than speaking with her relating to the hammer quest which leads to the engagement with Eos's Architect I don't remember anything moer than that either.
