The layout of the Tempest I find to be stupid, and does not feel like a star ship as the first Normandy did. And if the Tempest can only be driven by a Pathfinder wiggling their hands over the do-daddie, then why does it need two other pilots saying stupid stuff like Leaving atmo ?????? Path is calm ?????? Who the f write this garbage? Path is calm? Hey, thanks...I've been trying to figure out what she is saying! I thought it was Pass the comm! But couldn't quite hear that.. Now...Why is the path calm? LOL. Let me guess, you're also a native speaker, yet my listening skills are already greater than yours will ever be. *sigh* And path is calm could refer to a few things. Such as no debris or stray objects present in the flight path.

Now...Why is the path calm? LOL. I always hear her as saying "paff is calm" and "weaving atmo". Back on the Nexus, when I'm in the cultural center, I think it's the dead Jien Garson's voice that advises us to contact the "something something" if we have questions. Every time it sounds like she is saying the "pizza master" but I'm sure that can't be what she is really saying. Also, when we first meet Lexi in the cryobay and she is trying to see if your SAM implant is working, it sounds like she is saying "salmon plant" rather than SAM implant...my hearing or lack of it, is driving me nuts.

The layout of the Tempest I find to be stupid, and does not feel like a star ship as the first Normandy did. Other than the size of the Pathfinder's quarters, I don't really see how the Tempest is any worse off in terms of internal layout than the Normandy. The whole "feels like a starship" thing is kinda meaningless; both are clearly some kind of spacecraft on the inside. But frankly, they're all examples of wasted space that don't really have much of a place in a more believable spaceship, but being a space opera, there's a "fuck it" design that goes on with all ships in either Mass Effect or Star Trek. So it really comes down to personal taste on aesthetics, and personally, I think the Tempest actually looks better overall, despite basically being largely an inverted Normandy. I always thought the SR1 did a pretty good job of conveying the feel of a bit of a cramped interior while still allowing for all the encessary gameplay. But it was the right size and all of it was designed for functionality. Of course, it still has that ridiculous flight of stairs and a few other issues but I figured those were mostly technical restriction with the game. I did like that within the lore it was a spartan functional military vessel. The SR2 of course was a pleasure boat. Two lounges? A captain's cabin that takes an entire deck? Half of which is a fish tank? Please! As for Star Trek, at least those spacious ships also look like that from the outside (se the Enterprise D, what a tub ). All that said, I do like the Tempest and I would agree, the only real issue with the ship is the pathfinder quarters which should have been maybe a quarter of their current size. In general, open space is a bit too big (e.g. the area behind the bridge, where the airlock and Peebee's escape pod is, you could park another Nomad there). But otherwise, I think the layout works pretty well and I didn't feel like there was a lot of waste going on there. And though it's lore unfriendly, the Tempest does get major points for the beautiful views of space that it allows through all it's windows. It is a bit ridiculous to literally build a glass ship but hey, the visuals are too beautiful to give them crap for this one. EDIT: As for the showers, maybe it's just post-industrial style. Possibly they got them designed by some hipster artist from Brooklyn.

If you talk to Kallo, you find out that the viewing screens are actually some kind of tough composite material. You can see the honeycomb pattern when you're close to it.

I know but that still doesn't make sense as the Tempest was made at the same time or before the SR2 and even the SR2, the most advanced warship of all time doesn't have that material and rather needs shutters. So whichever way you look at it in 2185, windows are structural weaknesses. But as I said, I cn forgive this dues to the visuals, it's fine.

LOL. Here's another.... 'You don't know how long I have waited for a pathfinder to say that' So she's been waiting a full two and a half hours since leaving cryo, or has she been hanging around the canteen for 650 years waiting for those magic words? I know you could say it was because of this and that, but how ever you spin it, the conversation feels so misplaced, and far to casual.

Pretty sure she was up and about for months since she was taken out of cryo to replace someone who died in the uprising.

Gil thinks they should remove the rust, Kallo thinks it should stay.

I just noticed that too, the other day actually. I don't think it's rust, so much as it's just scum.

It's also not a war/ stealth ship, so I that makes it a bit easier to look past too.

I doubt they would give Ryder a ship in rust condition. I am of the opinion that the pilot (who shall remain nameless) took the Tempest for a spin first before Ryder acquired it. And during this run he stupidly crash landed it on a desert planet... so in short it is sand that they still have not got out of the ship completely...
... Could be wrong though.
