It wouldn't be that big of a deal for the pathfinder to have such a big room considering they take the point in every dangerous mission and that the tempest doesn't stay out in space that long. I always figured that Ryder didn't have their own apartment on the nexus anyway while the others did.

Personally, it'd be a constant source of annoyance, more so the wasted space than who got it. Space is a luxury in confined quarters, and so much of Ryder's is simply wasted. You could give Ryder a quarter of that- still more than anyone else aboard- and turn the rest of it into an actual recreation/observation deck for the crew. Honestly? I'd be sleeping on in the pilot's chair, or getting cozy in a bunk with Jaal/Cora/Drack...but yeah, for all the talk of new beginnings and stuff, having one crew member inhabit half the lower deck while everyone else is hot racking would be a little disheartening. Just cause you'r the pathfinder Ryder, doesn't mean you need to waste all that space! I liked Shep's quarters, they were suitable for the rank of Commander but still felt efficient. Normandy 1 or Normandy 2? Normandy 1's captain's quarters was 'realistic,' or closest to being such for anything approaching a military ship. Normandy 2's loft was ridiculous on space grounds as well.

Space aboard vessels is a matter of rank, not danger of duty position.

My Sara needs a massive room - given how many times I change her uniform colours, the wardrobe must be huge.

Space aboard vessels is a matter of rank, not danger of duty position. What I meant by mission danger is that none of the others would "care" about size of room considering the extra risk the pathfinder takes. Matter of rank? I was under the impression that the initiative was non military If rank had anything to do with how big his/her room is, wouldn't Cora also receive her own room though maybe smaller considering she was second in command? How bout the chief engineer/first mate Gil? Or the pilot Kallo? Those two have titles connected with the ship yet don't have their own berthing which in my experience on military/commercial vessels in real life, just isn't the case. The Tempest isn't a realistic vessel military or civilian in regards to living space anyway, there are just four beds outside of the pathfinders cabin though there are a 10 person crew or you can say 8 person crew prior to Peebee (sp) and Drack later joining up which wasn't planned.

Yeah the captains quarters where a bit big but atleast there was crew berthing and private quarters for the second in command (Miranda's room) plus the captains quarters had its own private bath. The Normandy 1 had no private bath for the CO nor was there separate quarters for the XO or chief engineer (LT Adams), or OPS boss/Navigator (Lt Pressly) not to mention none for Dr Chawkwas in either Normandy despite she being the ships medical officer.

That... would be within historic scope of old ships, when only the person with a private quarter would be the captain. The lack of rooms for XO/medic is more anachronistic, expect perhaps in submarines, but the space allocated for the Commander is what I was referring to.

What I meant by mission danger is that none of the others would "care" about size of room considering the extra risk the pathfinder takes. I know what you meant- it's no less silly. That's not how people rationalize being cramped without privacy while one person has more space than everyone else combined. Rank doesn't just mean military-rank. Hierarchy still exists in non-military organizations, and that hierarchy is why The Pathfinder gets their own room while no one else does. Not necessarily. Your experience is a bit dated to the present. Such positions not having their own rooms would be within historical practices. ...and? The fact that I'm not saying the Tempest is reallistic aside- again, total waste of space for the Pathfinder's quarters for no good reason- halving fewer beds than people is the least of the issues. Hot-bunking is totally a thing in ship-settings where space is a premium. MEA fails at this, mind you, by having everyone up at the same time rather than worrying about shifts, and of course not giving a shit about space utility consistency, but that's why we're talking about whether the use of space on the Tempest would annoy us.

I'd love to just pack a sleeping bag into the comm room and sleep there, camped out by one of the windows. That's a hell of a view. I just pray they're made out of some kind of hyperdiamond though.

If I were a crewman on the tempest I would kill liam, eject PB into space, then enjoy dinner with the rest of the crew who likely would toast me for getting rid of two of the most annoying people they ever encountered.

Considering all the pressure that is on Ryder I would not exactly be envious. As long as I have a clean comfortable bed to crash in when I need sleep I am not picky.

I would be ecstatically in a good mood. Less mess to have to clean up.
Especially if having to do so after a flight like this:

Why the hate for Liam? I can see getting rid of PB who IMO didn't care to much for the crew of Tempest (until late in the story) and didn't even care if the asari ark was found or not, but Liam seemed to always be positive and engaging with the other crew members (he seemed to be the only one to interact with Jaal) Liam did organized the first soccer match in Andromeda as well as help set up movie night for the crew on the Tempest.

I agree, other than maybe Cora early on, no one seemed too envious of Ryders position. As far as a comfortable bed to crash, how long does it take the Tempest to get from one place to the next? It would seem that it would take just a matter of hours to get from the Nexus to all the habitable worlds and in the transit, they would need atleast Kallo and Gil up and monitoring the operations of the Tempest along with also Suvi navigating. The Tempest being a scout ship seems endurance wise, not meant to spend to much time traveling in space.

It was a joke. I'd just kick them both off my crew. But in fairness he is a hysterical idiot. I just noticed today that he shot the kett first. Granted they turn out to be worth shooting BUT I told him not to and he shot before the kett really did anything. One more reason to kick him off the ship.

Yeah and I think that in part she was expecting to take over herself when Alec died she was a little bit in shoc kherself and probably did feel a little pity towards Ryder having to wake up to the news that their dad was gone. Got to hand it to my Ryder's as they kept their cool.

How pissed would you be at Ryder for their huge cabin room? I mean all you get is a bunk in a small hallway. And Ryder's room is like a quarter of the whole ship. I don't mind. I'm banging Sara so we share the room plenty anyway 😉

I would care about the missions and not where I sleep. Schedules are tight and missions dangerous, I do not see myself spending tons of time in a big luxury cabin on a spec ops space ship. Give me a bunk, a place to store my gear and I'm good, you can keep your XXL sized cabin thankyouverymuch.
In fact, if I was a crew member on the tempest and given a luxury cabin the size of Ryders' then I would re-purpose it for training or storage and grab myself a crew bunk. I hate wasting space, resources and dislike unnecessary elitism.

Well imagine how mad the poor hamster is...he doesn't even get an exercise wheel now. And what happened to the fish tank?...guess there are no fish in Andromeda.
