Listened to this, but didn't exactly watch it; I had my other tabs open. But yeah, I love EZA, or Easy Allies, as they're officially called. Best gaming podcast out there. I don't know another that's as good as they are. Anyone else?

A'ja Wilson having received the MVP award for 2024 is based on delusion. Because if the teams had the opportunity to pick one player, whoever they wanted, all of them would have chosen Caitlin Clark. And if you present this hypothetical scenario to A'ja fans, they get sort of silent and dampened, because they know in their hearts that it's true.

But "best" yes, not "greatest", because you have to win a lot of things to become "great", and she hasn't done that yet.

Yes.  The failure of putting in any sort of cost limiter is the central problem.  That is why Porsche could come in with enormous resources - not just financial, but also technical and industrial -, the other 'Garage'-teams couldn't even imagine.
The big pushrod V8s weren't expensive, not relatively, quite the contrary.  That's why they were used.  But yeah, boring and stroking them all the way to 9L was maybe not cheap?  Who started doing that?  Shadow?

Cost limiters have their problems too, but yeah.

I really liked the Group C rule that focused on fuel flow, because that's really how you can make it an even contest while still leaving the engine choice free.
Unfortunately it ended in a mess, when they allowed Mazda to run lighter cars than everybody else in their fuel class.  Whatever you think about the Mazda, that left a bad taste in my mouth, and it directly lead to the ban of Wankel engines, and death of Group C.  All that of course in turn consequences of trying to unnecessarily force in a 3 Litre rule, (or was it 3.5 Litre? Can't remember.)
