Ok I finally made a new girl and I'm satisfied I think. Maybe I'll tweak her some more later. Ieldra I believe you mentioned the horrible lighting in DA that turns black hair gray? You're probably already done with your new game but if not, you might like the black from this hair color utility better. www.nexusmods.com/dragonageinquisition/mods/83/I thought I would try it out and even when I have my reshade off the black looks nice imo. example without reshade I can see a difference when compared to my older character. Nice black hair mixed with the dark Viv robes has made a really nice combo here. Was thinking something like this for my next mage. I was going to use a different hairstyle but a similar kind of look. Which hair mod is that btw? As I don't think I've got this one I have similar shoulder length styles but I don't think I have this one I only ask as it's quiet a nice simple style and I think I'd like to maybe use it myself on a future Inquisitor. Edit never mind I found it. Noticed you'd put it up further down the page.

I usually play a male but I decided to make a female elf for the story with Solas. I was happy with my character so I decided to put her here. So here she is Skye Lavellan Clan Lavellan's full of pretty elves it seems.

Hi everyone. I have a special request. If you play on a PC, Xbox or PS4, could you post a headshot of your inquisitor and then label which medium it is from? I'm thinking of investing in either a new console or play DA off of my PC but the graphic quality is important to me. Thank you! My portrait shot on the previous page is made on a PC. Ultra settings, but no graphics enhancements beyond that.

Slyvalyth All of my shots are on PC with Ultra settings and even though I use a reshade, I believe I left one or two shots without it on. sjsharp2010 Sorry you had to dig for the link. I'm glad you like her though.

I'm glad you like her though. It's all right. It's probably just me playing catch up on the forum as I've not been able to log onto the forum the past couple of days due to myPC being down as my hard drive died otherwise I'd have probably seen that. It's repaired now though as I've got a new one in now just busy trying to rebuild my files from their backups that I've got. Not what I needed when I was attempting a ME/DA marathon but still as Sloane Kelly would say "Shit happens". It's taken all evening so far to restore it but I'm almost done I think.

Weird flex but okay. Kidding. I'm fortunate to have the same thing. While I dislike this game a lot, for screenshoots in ultra quality with a cool reshade no one can deny that looks astonishing. PCs even more so.

Belavhana Mirwen Lavellan
Belavhana (Given Name, informal) --> One with many questions. Mirwen (Mother's Name, formal) --> Resolve, or the will to move forward. Lavellan (Clan Name) --> One who journeys to a hopeul place. (Decided with the help of FenxShiral's compilation of Elvhen language and naming conventions. Google it, it's really interesting and useful for getting into character as a Dalish elf.) Groomed for leadership and responsibility since early childhood as the First to the Keeper. Also the first to make contact with any foreign group of shemlen, using her pronounced Vallaslin and dignified air, and magic if necessary, to intimidate them into civility. Recognizes the need for shems to see the Dalish as dangerous and mysterious and deserving of respect, rather than fearful vagrants to be bullied or exploited. Obviously prays to Elgar'nan, God of vengeance, fatherhood and the sun. She's known as a bit of a taskmaster to young Dalish under her command, and walks the human world without showing an iota of fear, even when a pack of resentful drunkards or a mounted guardsman or templar in heavy armor makes her feel small and soft and vulnerable. Once a dangerous animal sees you, you can't run from it. You have to face it down and scare it more than it scares you, or you're either in a fight for your life or already dead.* Besides, they never have any manners. She uses her mother's name in shemlen lands. No hairy ape is ever going to be allowed to address her by her given one. *(Disclaimer: Definitely not a suggestion to confront obviously dangerous or unstable individuals without a clear reason, regardless of provocation. The legal ramifications of even being a victim of assault or battery and managing to defend yourself can ruin your life. Always leave and run if you have the option and nobody else you can realistically help are in danger, and alert authorities from a safe distance, preferably with witnesses present, even ones who can only attest that they didn't see you do anything stupid.) As always, played on PS4 classic. So no mods.

Jesus Christ she's adorable. Not gonna lie, this girl ticks a lot of boxes. Also the spitting image of an old classmate of mine. Same light skin and freckles, although more orange than red hair, and blue eyes. Tiny little country-girl thing that laughed and smiled like the sun and loved to do PE outside barefoot even at 14 or so. And also heatedly tried to convert me to Christianity every time we sat together. Probably my only friend at the time. Seriously used the flight of the bumblebee and the fact that buses can turn as evidence of the divine, which really put our equally Christian physics teacher on the spot when she wanted him to ref. Also tried to arrange a party one time I bombed at an exam and she got better marks than me. Had some trouble when she got older, but still a lovely girl. Anyway, I like to think that I'm a fair hand at character creators owing to drawing in real life and playing mostly on consoles without mods, but this cute and pretty and lively creature shames me. Well done. I hope you're getting a blast out of playing her.

I did have a lot of fun playing as her *laughs* Funny, the girl you describe is very close to what I imagined this Inquisitor to be (minus the religiousness, plus some mischievous shenanigans). Voices you can choose and most dialogue options don't quite fit the image, but that doesn't stop me from imagining she is like that. Also interesting, this was my 36th attempt at playing DAI, and she was the first character that actually got me through, she kept me going through the slower parts of the game.

It's not like religion really informed anything about her. It was just our simplest and most obvious and least personal point of contention. And we both knew we were right, of course. So we debated and teased each other like crazy. Ha! You're preaching to the choir there. I know the starting area of every Bioware and Obsidian RPG to date like the back of my own hand, but have only seen most endings once or twice, if at all. It seems to get better as you gain a stronger sense of what sorts of characters you find actually interesting and relatable though. Characters with values and themes that really intrigue or mean something to you. You want to see those play out and expressed as much as possible, and then you hate it when the games end. Also helps to deliberately make characters that aren't picture-perfect to look at. Then you don't chafe at how they don't look exactly how you intended every time you see them in-game. Your Lavellan hits the perfect spot. Pretty and full of character, but with cheekbones and chin and jawline quite short of supermodel-hood. One can tell you've been careful about moving the sliders too far from the center. She looks like an actual person and not someone who won the genetic lottery and had to build her life around it.

By the Twelve, yes! (to most of that) I could do prologue to most BioWare games blind at this point, even if I can only boast of very few complete playthroughs of any game. Some of them I've done so many times I don't even want to go through the beginning anymore, like ME1. And I hate it when a game ends! It's sort of what draws me towards MMOs (usually to disappointment at lackluster story), the idea of a world that doesn't end once credits roll. Right now I found home in FFXIV, a game with story ranging from competent to great (it can really play on the heartstrings, just the other day it made me cry ), some fun characters and a distinct style. The story might be linear, but because your character has no specific lines outside of couple choices you get sprinkled throughout, it's great headcanon fodder. The character up in the gif is mine, I like to imagine she is in her late teens and way in over her head, found friend in one of the main cast (who is actually a teenager), and just stumbles from one problem to the next, trying to be the best adventurer and bard she can be. As for my Lavellan, believe it or not, I don't introduce flaws...or do anything specific really...intentionally. Or rather, I sort of do, but not quite? My character creation process is something like this, I start by imagining the character's personality and choosing a preset I don't dislike, then finding eyes that fit the personality I imagined, and then just sort of...fiddle with everything else until the face clicks with the personality. And if it doesn't, well, time to start from scratch. I do have some knowledge of what facial structure should be like, but if it doesn't fit with the rest of what I have, I disregard rules and do what feels right instead. Uhhh...I'm just rambling, sorry

Uhhh...I'm just rambling, sorry *is mortally offended that you only enthusiastically agreed with most of what he said, and finds rambling on video game forums to be the greatest sin* I hear what you're saying about MMOs, that's how I used to feel about them before I gave up completely after SWTOR. Final Fantasy passed me by though, and now I'm just too old and grizzled to take JRPGs seriously. Except for Drakengard. I'll always have a place in my heart for Drakengard after the original PS2 title. Darkest and weirdest game ever to hit international shelves. And yeah, I went through my teens jumping from one game to another as I got bored. These days I have so little time though, and finishing what I start is kind of something I had to learn the hard way. Just the thought of ten concurrent half-finished playthroughs of different games sitting in the back of my head gives me shivers. Now I put a lot of thought into starting an RPG with the intention of seeing it through, and making sure the character always has enough meat on it to keep me engaged. Anything else would just end up stressing me out. Your character creation process makes sense. I usually spend hours idly thinking up ways a particular character would fit into the setting, what sorts of motivations would clinch with the tone and story in interesting and thematic ways relevant to my interests at the time, make sure to think up ten or more cool things that tie the character to everything else in the world on some level, and then when I'm sufficiently psyched up I start the game. First thing I do is always set every slider to average, and get a character that's as absolutely vanilla to whatever climate and community s/he comes from and what sort of work s/he does for a living as possible. Then I fiddle with it to give the character some... well, character, until I hit upon a look that gives a cool, and different from what I know everyone else is doing, and grounded impression that works with whatever attributes I've already thought up for him/her. Only then, if I can't stop myself and there's a way to do it that makes sense with the story, do I give him/her some larger-than-life feature. Like my Lavellan's rather extreme Vallaslin associated with Elgar'nan above, symbolizing her bone-deep commitment to keeping her clan safe and fed and too deserving of respect to push around. That sort of thing is normally a turnoff for me, but when it means something powerful and specific within the story and setting I can enjoy it.

Thank you. It's an easy recipe. Default 5, mouth and nose left1. I used the same face with a redhead, medium-long hair variant in my T8 dish.

Yeah I use face 5 a lot as well for a lot of mine face 1 and 5 are my go to ones for human Inquisitors although I think my Linet is face 1 but tweaked a bit and a hair mod added
