I know I'm going to get a lot of flack for this, but I want to be able to turn all the gay, lesbian and transgender stuff off and on in my games. I know it's becoming more accepted in the world we live in, but I play video games to escape reality. I have no problem with people that live that life style, but why must you force it on others that don't. I know I don't have to choose any of the gay choices, but the fact that I see them bothers me. For example, everytime I speak to Liam, there is an option "Im interested in you". I dont want that there. I cant make it go away and i dont like seeing it. Why are they trying so hard to make this LGBT community happy? Why are we treating them diffently? Why must we force their beliefs into my life? I just want an option in the menu to turn these type of things off, just like you can turn blood and gore off or bad language off. You can do what ever you want in your life, leave it out of mine.

I suppose it wouldn't hurt to have a game option where you can choose your sexuality or just set it to story mode to be as it is currently. Personally I don't need it myself, but in the interests of fairness to those that do not want it, I don't think it would be a bad thing to add.

If you have issues with characters being gay, bisexual or what have you, then just don't buy the game. One would think that a game that represents humanity hundreds of years in the future would be passed the obesession we currently have with sexuality, gender and ethnicity.

And that existence being fairly represented in any form of media, let alone his video game bothers him and makes him uncomfortable. To bad he doesnt seem able to do what we Gays have been doing for years and years, avoiding the straight LI options like crazy. I mean, do you know how hard it was to avoid being forced into a romance with Carth in KOTOR playing a female Revan? arg. Of course, the OP cant imagine what that moment where you see a part of who you are represented in any form of media is like. I think I reloaded and replayed the scene between my Female Character and Silk Fox in Jade Empire at least a half dozen times before I believed what I was seeing was true. |
