Smart phones have fucked up the web experience in the same way consoles have ruined gaming. Pages are dumbed down, people can't do half the shit they should be able to do, and now companies are making things exclusive to smart phones so PC-only users are fucked.
The only way smartphones are better than computers is mobile content production and pocket mp3 libraries. I actually really resent the rise of popularity in internet browsing on them. Don't even get me started on how asinine it is for people to watch movies on them.

But watch the 12-17 year old kiddies what they are doing/using - it's them defining demand and governing the offering. Not us. We can cry, we can regret, we can reject and deny but it won't make a difference.

I often wonder why companies choose to offer their services per app instead of a website. A properly designed website can be visited on computers and consoles alike, as well as provide an app look-and-feel when it is visited through a mobile device and functionality is practically identical. Because responsive web design is hard and the tech guys would rather put 'app developer' on their resume anyway.

Looking at my last 20 matches, I had 17 full extractions on (2 bronze APEX, 16 gold), one partial extraction when I charged into a hidden room and couldn't get out, and one failed gold solo attempt. I looked at my last 20 matches too. All extracted. 19 of them gold. bwahahahahah I win !

Because responsive web design is hard and the tech guys would rather put 'app developer' on their resume anyway. Yeah, I was waiting for that response: while posting, I was already wondering "But maybe that website that works on different browsers and has interactive functionality might be way more expensive than an app, even when taking into the maintenance of only one application." And, to be honest, I don't know... With regard to what people would like to put on their resume, my guess is that EA, like a lot of other companies, has outsourced the development (and maintenance) of the APEX app to the (Far) East with regard to labour costs. But then, that is being done not only for apps but for a large score of stuff: call centers & customer service (like SalMasRac {I believe it was} having an ISP customer service in the Philippines).., and websites. Admittedly, in the end, I just don't know enough about programming and software development to give any justification to the costs of developing an app vs. a website but I'd think that EA would choose the cheapest option (not because it's EA, btw, but because it's a company with public stock). I am interested, though, would a website (multiple browser, including mobile compatibility) with functionality like the APEX app cost that much more than app development for two platforms?

The apps: go to www.masseffect.com/apex-hq-appLook for the big download buttons. Click the one for your device type. If you couldn't find these you suck at the internet, seriously. Learn 2 Google. = = = The iOS version of the Apex HQ app was built by 'EA Swiss Sarl' which a little Googling tells me is the company EA uses for a lot of their mobile app / game development.

I have the app, sorry. I meant where in the app is the 20-game history. It's pretty hard to miss, it's the first thing you see under the banner on the home tab when you open the app. Hint: look for the big bold lettering that says "RECENT MP MATCH" Edit: I guess it's pretty easy to miss if the app isn't up to date : P

Home screen of the app, scroll down to a Widget called 'Recent MP Match' [sic, should be 'Matches', right?].
I suppose if you've turned off Widgets previously it might not be there so turn it on.
Also you can re-order Widgets so it's not on top/bottom for everyone.

That option is literally not there for me. It isn't in the list under manage widgets either. I'll follow up with ea help (or not, whatever).

The iOS version of the Apex HQ app was built by 'EA Swiss Sarl' which a little Googling tells me is the company EA uses for a lot of their mobile app / game development. EA Swiss S.a.r.l is an EA subsidiary, which is based in Geneva Switzerland and serves a vehicle for a multitude of EA business services, such as VAT transactions outside of the US or the European Headquarters. If you're based in Europe, like I am, and you'd put in a request for refund, it would be handled by EA Swiss S.a.r.l. As a European gamer, all the legal agreements I enter in are with EA Swiss S.a.r.l. VAT transactions not only for Europe but also for countries like Australia and Korea are handled through EA Swiss S.a.r.l. So, sure, they hold the app's IP, which as much tells you one thing, I believe: the APEX HQ app wasn't built in the US...

Moreover, in choosing a website, you only have one app (the website) to maintain support-wise... My guess? A backdoor deal intended to promote the purchase of smartphones. Not that I believe in conspiracy theories.
