Overview:

Once a kind hearted and honorable man. Ever since he became Teryn, Jon has devolved an morbidly obese man who constantly pursues pleasure rather than helping the people of his land. Whether it's partying, drinking or having sex with any decent looking woman that moves. Jon has absolutely ZERO impulse control and pretty much does what he wants.Jon has become so fat, that he often requires his servants to help him move around his castle. His council is mostly made up of those who kisses up to him. Unsurprisingly he's not very popular with everyone else in the Ferelden monarchy. Recently Jon's foot has been rotting badly. With his healers baffled at the possible cause.


Ronald Elinor



Overview:

The son of Jon. The 19 year old Ronald is the opposite of his father. He is kind and sensitive and a vociferous reader. He was often neglected by his father who saw him as a disappointment. Preferring that he become a warrior rather than a reader. In an effort to please his father, Ronald did just that becoming a decent warrior but nothing special. He desires to achieve knighthood so he can be just like the heroes he read in the story books. One day, while trying to investigate the murders of his father's soldiers, Ronald was allegedly captured by the raiders. His father though couldn't care less about his fate. Seeing him as an potential threat to his leadership.

Aline Soloua




In her mid-thirties, Aline is a mage who specializes in destruction and has worked with Cyrus in the past. She is currently serving as an advisor for Teryn Elain. Ambitious and determined to climb up the social ladder. Even she is disgusted by the Teryn's abuse of power though she does not speak for fear of being executed. Aline though is secretly planning to overthrow him and possibly become Teryn herself if the right opportunity strikes. Though recently Jon's foot has been infected and even though she is a capable healer, Aline was unable to fix it. Forcing her to write to the Empress to summon Lady Lavinia to Ferelden.

Faustine Dupont (Belongs to Nimlowyn )






Faustine was born in 9:31 Dragon to the Dupont family, elven servants who have served the de Fonteins faithfully for three generations. In 9:45 Dragon, at age 14, she was promoted to lady-in-waiting by the Comtesse de Fontein herself. As the position is usually reserved for nobility, Faustine is one of the few elves in Orlais to ever achieve such social mobility. The appointment caused a scandal at the time, which has subsided somewhat since the deaths of the Comte and Comtesse.

Faustine is reserved, observant, and possessed with the patience and insight that comes with being the third generation of a serving family.
She takes her duties with a seriousness that belies her young age, though she does find herself missing her former mistress...

A wealthy client of Rhonda's. Though he wore his wealth on display, there was a rigidness to the way he carried himself that made Rhian guess he wasn't accustomed to luxury. He stroked the rings on his fingers as if to remind himself of their presence and tugged constantly at his restrictive clothing. The sword on his belt was the only item on him that looked as if it was chosen for function rather than display.



He spoke highly of the Teyrn, but there was an edge to his tone that implied that with different company his words would change. He was man that would do what he must to achieve his ends. She could respect that.

I don't think my character Lavinia makes sense as an adventurer. Could she still participate as someone the adventurers come into contact with, or would I be better of making a new character?

Right so let's get started! The thread will be titled: The Nature of Conflict and it will be located in Gwaren, Ferelden.

The thread leaders will be gervaise21 and myself. (gervaise21 also has a prequel to this thread called the Sins of our Fathers check it out!)

The world state: I tend not to give out too much info if it has nothing to do with the story, but Alistair and Anora are King and Queen respectively. With Celene being empress.

Hear ye, hear ye, our esteemed Teyrn Jon Elain is looking for skilled and determined individuals to undertake a quest on his behalf. Many of his knights and soldiers have been murdered or are missing. Furthermore many freeholds and villages bordering the Brecilian Forest have also been suffering a loss of their inhabitants. The Teyrn wishes the matter investigated forthwith and the perpetrators dealt with. Terms to be negotiated with the Teyrn but a heavy purse is guaranteed. Those interested should apply to the Teyrn at the Castle.

On top of that his son is missing as well, allegedly kidnapped by the Raiders. But that's something he'll tell the group when you meet him.

TO ANYONE WHO'S READING THIS AND IS NOT IN THE THREAD YOU ARE STILL WELCOME TO JOIN US!

Happy to start posting but I'm wondering about the Teyrn. What sort of man is he? By this I mean what sort of reputation does he have in the wider world rather than his actual character which may be concealed from them. In other words, what sort of image does he like to project? Have there been any notable events in the Teyrnir since he took over that may have influenced the people's view of him?

For example, does he make generous donations to the Chantry or give alms to the poor on his birthday? Does he hold extravagant parties? This might raise his popularity among the richer classes but earn the derision of the poor. These are all things that the other characters could know about from general enquiry or actual experience of living under his rule and might influence their motivations in helping or demands they make for payment. If you know the guy throws his coin about as though he has a never ending stream at his disposal, you might wish to push the price of your services up.
