There are two with SAM Implants left on the team. Lt. Harper and Kosta.
Were no others to get the Implant (as was mentioned, Drack, Peebee, Vetra and Jaal only have SAM linked to their PRRs) Cora is the obvious choice. She trained for this, and were it not for Alec Ryder's demise, would probably see some action as the Human Pathfinder. (I'm of the opinion that Alec was willing to transfer SAM to his kids with a gap)
If anyone else were to get the Implant... no, I still think Cora. All we know about Bain Massani is that he's a lot like his father: A lone wolf that does the work quietly. He's no leader like Alec is (and like his kids can become) I don't see alternatives. On the Tempest, we have Gil and Suvi who would qualify outside of the ground team, being humans working with the Pathfinder. Gil's a gearhead, and Suvi is... Suvi.

I'd give the entire crew Pathfinder status. I think its wrong and not efficient to make just one person pathfinder, having the combined strength of all of them is superior than choosing a single crewmember.

Cora. She's been training for it, but I have a feeling that the transfer won't be easy. Man, I really wanted to say Kallo or Gil for the "whaaaat?" responses. Exactly because she's had the training I'd transfer pathfinder authorizatoin to Cora as well.

Sadly though, I'm dead so I won't be able to see SAM give error messages all the time.

Between Cora and Liam, Cora, hands down.
If I could choose anyone? I remember thinking the Asari pilot (name ?)on Voeld who runs ice to other planets/stations seemed interesting....wished their was a mission with her, but it was just conversation. She struck me as a Han Solo-type freighter captain (possible smuggler). Or the Turian attempted murderer turned outcast on a path to redemption might be an interesting character. Would love to play as a Salarian commando, too.

each other races have their pathfinders already. If Ryder dies we need a human replacement.
Liam takes goofy decisions so that leaves Cora . But i bet there are others in cryo or on the Nexus who could do it.

Cora. She couldn't have handled it before with her need for a commanding officer/father figure, but the journey she went on with Ryder really gave her the perspective she needs to be a good pathfinder and leader.

Cora would be the logical choice because of her training if the sibling isn't available (which would be strnge with QEC technology, unless (s)he is dead too ). After her i would choose either Vetra or Drack since both are level headed people. In penultimate would be PeeBee since she needs to learn how to be less impulsive (she is stil paying for the escape pod ). Liam would be the last because his mistake put not only the Pathfinder but the whole Initiative at risk.

Jaal would be my second option but he isn't from the Milky Way. Can we have zombie Alec Ryder as a option? If so I pick him.

Pretty much in sync with most ... Cora. She grew in the story ... too much of an Asari fangirl at the start, but had an epiphany in her loyalty mission, plus learned to trust herself, be a leader as the story unfolded. So Cora. I would have no problem with Vetra or Drack, but Cora has the better combination of skills. Jaal turned down his chance at command ... so no. Ultimately, he wants to be a follower, not a leader ... so no. PB? Too self-centered, too immature, too flighty ... she's smart in a limited way ... but only pays attention to those things that interest her, total lack of appreciation for anything outside those narrowly defined interests.
Liam is an idiot ... he was written to be that way.* He really didn't learn anything in his loyalty mission ... despite his post-mission apology. Pick the option that leaves him pissed off at Ryder and you'll see what I mean. Would not trust Liam to bring takeout back to the Tempest. Moron, idiot, tool, sh*thead ... pick the pejorative ... not fit for command, not fit to lead, not fit to be on any away team, ever. Voted most likely to get a teammate killed. There was a reason he got fired as mutually agreed to leave the profession of being a cop. A Pathfinder is much more than being a cop ... and Liam failed at the more limited task. Yeah, pretty much, I despise the character. It gets more and more difficult to do the Liam loyalty mission, on each successive play through ... I like the humor in the mission ... good writing, just can't stand why we are there to begin with or how Liam reacts to the scenario ... which is also good writing. I've worked with people like Liam, had folks like Liam work for me ... it never ends well. That his choices place others at risk ... unforgivable, unacceptable, intolerable. Rate him 10/10, most likely to toss out the airlock. Bad call on Alec Ryder's part ... an N7 should have known better. Liam is a fool and should be eaten.
*Don't misunderstand, BioWare wrote Liam to be the character that he is, that was intentional, not a mistake. And Liam's loyalty mission was hilariously well written. That I react to Liam so viscerally is a testament to how effectively the writers have created a character, brought that character to life. Beyond the loyalty mission, Liam's comments seem to really fit the character that they created ... they seem organic, natural ... something I would expect from a real life Liam. To wit, Liam reminds me of folks I've known in real life ... perhaps only Drack is as well developed as a character. So I give the writing an A+, but the character, really don't care for him at all. Which I'm guessing was one of the goals in creating the character.

Damn. The "human" requirement makes this a hard one for me. There are so many cool aliens in this game that would totally be up for it. And if our twin couldn't take over (obvious successor is obvious), then who does that leave us with, really? If you listen to Cora's character development, she actually comes to the conclusion that she wouldn't want to be Pathfinder, since she likes following another's lead. And while Liam does try to do things on his own, he really kind of sucks at it. I support asking Fisher, Greer, or Hayes to do it (although I lean more toward Fisher because I've got a soft spot for his VA: see Fen'Harel Faceman 's Sandal). They were all part of the original team, and Ryder proves training isn't necessary.

I wouldn't choose Cora, because she's proven she's more of a follower than a leader. Same with Liam, though he tries. Drack is on death's door, so he wouldn't work. Peebee is too into Peebee. Would not pick the recent ally, so no Jaal - who really has no vested interest in finding a new home for MW races. I think it leaves me choosing Vetra. She will make tough calls, will make deals to get what she needs and actually gives a shit about the AI succeeding.
Of course, I could always go with Addison, but refuse to call her a pathfinder until she does the job. I expect she'd be dead inside a week.
Why no poll? We get better results that way because people will vote in a poll that won't respond in the thread.

Well - I would choose someone that still has a lot to learn as Pathfinder, but already has that title (In my play-through's that is). It's someone that is still young, but has a very long life time to develop. It is someone that is capable to hold herself in battle and has already saved lot's of life's. It is someone that is still uncertain, just like Scott/Sara was at the start, but has the right mentality to grow. No - I'm not talking about Cora, but the new Asari Pathfinder Vederia. I think she could really team up with Cora as second in command. Do not forget she was second in command to Sarissa (and learned a lot from her). The same Sarissa Cora was adoring, so those two would fit nicely together as team.
So - Maybe not a very obvious choice, but I think it would work out very well.
