I've heard rumors of a 5 game plan before. After that it may be time to move on or shake things up within Thedas. I'm sure they will continue to make games as long as the series does well though.
It would be neat to get a new Jade Empire game but I think chances are pretty slim. Even though I really liked it, I'm not sure it ever had as strong of a fanbase as Kotor, ME, or DA.

I think everyone is waiting for possible Qu.Ark DLC and Dragon Age: Anywhere But Ferelden. I'm not sold on Anthem yet, but keeping an open mind.
Let them take the time they need to make a good game.

^^^^ Skyrim: silent protagonist chosen one with weak sauce romance (no one woo'd anyone at all) and no friends or family. I played it for a month. I got bored. Tried Dragon Age right after- played Trilogy 4 times. If you don't see those two worlds and game series as completely different? I don't think you're trying very hard. They don't scratch te same itch at all.
I play DA for a lot of reasons, but mostly for a happy ending with steamy romantic bits and friends set in a medeval setting.

I understand that whoever does Skyrm provides different content. What I wish for is BioWare style content in a less generic setting than DA. I guess we have the LotR and Martin to thank for them producing DA setting instead of growing the JE setting that has far, far, far more intriguing themes and possibilities. I'd really rather do Definitely Not Central Asia, SEA, NEA and India than the Definitely not Aquitaine and UK. Well, my hopes now are for Ubisoft. If AC: Origins does well, maybe there will be appetite for other exotic settings or the remake of their older titles with the new graphics with the exotic locations. Monster compendium and PC races are not on offer, but you can't have it all.
I mean, do you absolutely have to have Dwarves and Elves and European vibe? Or would you have been happy to get the same stuff as DAT provides only in a more unsual exotic setting?
By the time DAT came out, I've played BG1, BG2, IWD1, IWD2, and NWN2 for a decade, all of which are fantasy medieval Europe with elves, dwarves, etc. When Jade Empire came out, it blew me away. It was different. And yes, I played in their TOR setting and in the Effect settings, and I love them, but I am as sick of lightsabres as I am of bows and swords; and Effect is faltering. I like Remnant, and I like Andromeda, but people did not.
Another Jade would have been right on the money for me just now.

I agree but I guess you have to follow the money. Also, I think a lot of their internal focus group studies showed that the medieval setting is more desired than an ancient China fantasy setting.

I'll continue waiting for the rest of the world to get fed up with Gimli and Legolas. If the Egyptian Creed does well, maybe it will move the descisions makers in EA to dust off their own Asian treasure trove.

Even for a wishlist this seem to take a lot of time. I'd rather bump Jade to 2020, and see SWTOR-SP experience in 21-22. I don't think they will pilot new IP that soon. Anthem is supposed to have 10 years in it, so 2028 if they use all their IP, including resurrecting Jade.

I've heard rumors of a 5 game plan before. After that it may be time to move on or shake things up within Thedas. I'm sure they will continue to make games as long as the series does well though. ... In an interview Mike did in November, he said they're always looking 3 games ahead. So they have at least some idea where they'd want to take DA6. But yeah, as long as it continues to make money, and the will is there to do it, maybe they'll hit Final Fantasy numbers someday...

KOTOR overshadowed it at the time. I understand KOTOR/SWTOR, I get Anthem. I still don't get the DAT. I mean, is not there Skyrm for all your medieval fantasy needs? DAT is so uninspired conceptually... and there is no competition in the West for Jade IP. There are other games with a medieval fantasy setting, yes, but very few with writing that I like as much as Dragon Age's setting. It's the same with A Song of Ice and Fire: there are other books with a medieval fantasy setting, yes, but few with writing that I like as much as A Song of Ice and Fire's. Because of the writing, I've become invested in A Song of Ice and Fire. Because of the writing I became invested in Dragon Age: it's cultures, it's races, it's religions, it's histories, it's stories and so on. That's the kind of thing that makes Dragon Age stand out and makes it feel unique despite there being other medieval fantasy games on the market. While I may be interested in checking out a book because it's seldom that I see one in its genre that does not mean I'll become invested in it because of its rarity. I've looked at games in the wuxia genre that I've found no interest in because the writing made the setting feel bland, uninterested or a collection of wasted ideas. I would not be opposed to a second Jade Empire game as I quite liked the first one despite its shortcomings but I would not trade Dragon Age for it. Though to be honest, I would be more curious about seeing Bioware try their hand at a tribal setting as I so seldom see those done and not often with Bioware's focus on story and level of world-building. This is only semi-relevant, I admit, but I recommend trying out Okami. It's an old game but it's one that has held up wonderfully. It combines japanese classical history with japanese mythology, legends and folklore and an art style as well as story that weaves it together into a beautiful game.

It combines japanese classical history with japanese mythology, legends and folklore and an art style as well as story that weaves it together into a beautiful game. Well, for me, the lackluster setting is the major drawback of DAT, and that is why it was the last BioWARE game I've played. And I pretty much have not played games other than BioWARE/Obsidian. I've tried a couple of Asian games, and it did not work for me. I was expecting far more from them given how breathtaking the other artwork coming out of the East is. I love my games to be visually unusual and the characters/monster/weaponry/spells compendium creative. I find that DAT falls short on every account, most particularly in DA3. The setting is tired, and it does not lead me anywhere interesting. ASOIF was a revelation when it came out, but it's lost its momentum and I doubt it can recapture it. As much as I want to see a certain open secret confirmed in print, and as much as some of the protagonists are still of emotional empathy, it had been a decade or so since I've cared for the series enough to keep checking the release dates. DAT's like that. I'll play it. I would like to see what happens to Dorian. But I don't expect to be left breathless with excitement and royally entertained. Unfortunately, I am a PC gamer, so consoles are out.
