Not just DLC. We are waiting on another patch that was promised. Patches usually come at the beginning of the month so I suspect we'll get a patch next week. What it'll include I don't know but I hope there's one or 2 nice SP things in there to play with They broke a bunch of animations, and some missions are still broken too it seems. The report forum for EA ran wild after the last patch lol

US conspiracy-theorist psychopath. Our current president gave an interview on his show during the election. That's all you really need to know about what it's like to live here right now. Oh. Good to know, I suppose. My condolences. He seems like a real nutjob. Basically most liberal's biggest fear aside from democracy and POTUS. Go figure. OT, all there's left to do is wait a little longer, nobody's gonna pump a DLC out with their long ass posts on BSN.

I think there will be probably be at least one DLC for this game, since DLC gets made for flawed/medicore but reasonably profitable games and this a title in a major series. But it also seems the backlash against MEA was unusually and dedicatedly loud. I really do wonder how the internet response + the MC reviews have affected sales over time. There aren't any figures, right? It seems that how things operate is changing and social media response is having a more pronounced effect on pretty much everything. So it sounds like the game did okay out of the gate, but how much did sales drop or slow after the trolls were done thrashing it to a bloody pulp in all regions of the internet? And how will those numbers determine whether an EA DLC is finished or abandoned?

Also a friendly reminder from the producer: I read that as " we really want to tell you and will as soon as we can."

How I read that is : "I'm not sure if I still have a job or not, but here's how we've always done it in the past." lol Wild how we can see something and get totally different things from it. Oh, and not to sidetrack this off to Anthem, but... They really did a great job at stemming the bleeding out of the company with SWTOR. Let's see if Anthem can't bleed out the company completely this time.

So it sounds like the game did okay out of the gate, but how much did sales drop or slow after the trolls were done thrashing it to a bloody pulp in all regions of the internet? And how will those numbers determine whether an EA DLC is finished or abandoned? Social media definitely played a big part in how MEA launched, that's for sure. I'm pretty certain that had the sales figures and reviews been exactly the same, but there hadn't been any of the memes and mockery online, things wouldn't seem so gloomy right now. In Mike Laidlaw's recent podcast interview, when discussing the chances of a Jade Empire 2, he talked about how they basically have people who in very simple terms monitor 'buzz' about games and how people discuss them online - I think that sort of thing is playing a huge part in what's going on with MEA right now. During the first month after launch, pretty much every single post from the official BioWare and Mass Effect twitter accounts was just bombarded with mockery, gifs of glitches and memes - that won't have gone unnoticed and I'm pretty sure right now they're more concerned with the franchise's prestige and standing in the eyes of gamers, rather than actual sales figures (which despite what certain youtubers like to claim, weren't abysmal) That said, now pretty much every tweet from the official BioWare and Mass Effect accounts is bombarded with single-player DLC questions, so who knows?

Asking here from another thread:
Did anyone find proof in that one article where they said the devs told fans they would tie up loose ends in a satisfying way? I never found the source for this claim. It was some Twitch stream with the writers apparently. 1 day after that article was the SN hoax, then Kotaku a day later.

It could have been solid gold and people would still call it gold plated shit.

MEA is in Hiatus so they can work other projects (read Anthem, etc...) The only "official" line I have seen from Bioware/EA is "We cannot comment at this time on any dlc" ( I paraphrased) Possibly due to NDA so I am suspending judgement. And Kotaku has NEVER impressed me as they either Start a love fest or a hate train nothing reasonable in between. They were dissing MEA before it even came out. Shoddy reporting with no objectivity.

I'm just wondering if tying up loose ends meant the novel.

The books are meant to explain some of the stuff that happens when Ryder's not around, not tie up any loose plot threads in the game. Plus the books wouldn't bring in the same revenue as DLC.
