Well I mean the fan fic was not me fixing the ending, just the ending, but really my reaction to wanting to fix ME 3 as a whole because its a game I saw a lot of problems in the game as a whole, and a lot of things I wanted to fix...so in that sense it was very fan ficky. Basically though Abigail Shepard manages to convince the Catalyst the Reapers are not needed and that the solution is not necessary. He then takes the fleet and flies them into the sun. She is very gravely injured so has to go through rehabilitation. Then at the end, starts being a part of the rebuilding effort to rebuild the Galaxy in the wake of the Reaper war. Then Abigail discovers a group of people, the Disciples of the Reapers, who start worshiping them as dieties. They want to bring the cycle back because they view the cycle as necessary. At the end of the day she discovers that the core of Harbinger, his essence, rejected the Catalyst and is the one leading the Disciples of the Reapers, which then sets up a final battle between him and the forces of the Galaxy. Sacrificing are made, blasts from the past are resurrected, and Shepard is temporarily indoctrinated. +100 for creativity. +1000 for making it plausible in a very unorthodox way. Colfoley, I am proud of you. well you haven't read it yet.

I'm not sure that MEA's release was as bad as some people think (or as good, for that matter), and I generally accept that it was at least "all right". But Inquisition had a crazy good release for a few reasons, and I don't know if we'll see that topped soon. ...Ironically, I don't love inquisition as much as I love Andromeda, but emotions are whacky and frequently not much good for marketing. Especially mine. Gut feelings are not indicative of truth or quality. I think it ended up being a bit under EA's expectations, but not by an awful lot. This, and the meager critical acclaim, ensured that a sequel would not be greenlit ASAP and that plans for post-release support were altered. But I doubt the sales were so catastrophic that they axed all DLC plans entirely and killed the franchise. Of course the above is a gut feeling and only EA has actual answers as to how well the game sold, and more importantly they're the ones who decide where the IP goes next.

I have no doubt it sold well initially - could see it selling in that 2-3m range, but I doubt it has legs beyond that - that's what would disappoint EA. 3.5m would be pretty bad overall compared to 6+ for ME3.

What I don't get is those of you who take utter delight in the thought that there might not be a dlc, or anything else good coming for MEA. We get it, you don't like the game. You were trashing the game before it was even released, so no surprise there. No matter what you think of MEA, cheering for it to sink is just stupid. This game failing isn't going to magically make the ME franchise whatever it is you think it should be now.
It's a long while before anymore Bioware games get released, so I'd like to be able to enjoy this one as long as possible, and dlc's will help with that.

Instead of checking the prepared remarks from the shareholder meeting I checked the full transcript. The meeting was on May 9th, 2017. I'll post full quotes of what was said with regard to Andromeda and let you guys figure out what's important.

Yeah that's not sounding like MEA sucking and being shelved. Not sucking, but it left me with a few questions. I'd heard rumors that there was a March release date so that EA could include the earning in Q4, but they've deferred them to Q1 of fiscal 18, so why do that? Another rumor I'd heard is the full budget for Andromeda was $100m. So it only made a little more than half that, if that number is true. Again, I don't know the veracity of either claim, but that was the rumor.

It has something to do with that the Deluxe and Super Deluxe content would be arriving outside of Q4 and into Q1 18. So they have to defer some of that revenue to the next quarter. It's very similar to the DLC thing. If they announce it now, then they will have to defer certain profits until after it comes out. SofaJockey had a great explanation for it. It's basically all bureaucracy and legalism, not conspiracies or anything.

I think that's the package that included the remote controlled car and art book, but not a copy of the game. It was probably deferred to Q1 FY18 due to not having enough inventory to meet demand, meaning they sold more than they thought they would.

Bioware are being idiots... Just flat out confirm or deny...so bloody cryptic all the time... More people are getting annoyed at their crap...the thing is, their reputation has taken a big hit, but they are still pissing people off more. I'm wondering if this kind of pr is good or bad for their business?
