A couple of things I would like to point out about using anonymous sources: Jason, people in the journalism industry who use legitimate anonymous sources quite often quote them directly. Why, it gives some credence to their actual statements while still protecting their anonymity. You're not doing this... you're expecting us to rely on your "take" on what your alleged sources said... and you have had a notably biased position about this game in the past. As it is, there is no way for anyone to assess whether you are slanting what was actually said just to suit your personal position on the matter.
Furthermore, you have made it abundantly clear that you actually have no qualms about not protecting anyone's identity since you used screen shots here with avatars fully visible to "mock" people from these forums on your Twitter.
To the forum members here, I'd like to point that, regardless of whether this article is correct or not, the more people who let Bioware know (in a positive way) that we want DLC and would buy DLC if they made it, the more likely it is that Bioware may become convinced to go ahead with it regardless of ME:A's sales.
I for one want DLC and will buy it if it's made... and Mr. Schrier, please feel free to copy this post to your Twitter account so that Bioware can get the news that they have a fan here who wants them to make DLC for ME:A.

Mr. Schrier, please feel free to copy this post to your Twitter account so that Bioware can get the news that they have a fan here who wants them to make DLC for ME:A. Samesies. I will also add that I removed my Origin ID from my account profile solely because Schreier didn't crop out username and profile info when he decided to mock forum posters. That was unbelievably irresponsible and unprofessional.

Here's a thought!
What if they planned to wrap things up in the novels, and make MEA2 later? What if Jason used the lame and dramatic excuse that the game sucked just to make it sound like he knows shit, but the reality is, there's no DLC not because the game failed, but it was never planned because the books would have all the answers?
"Titan is publishing four unmissable Mass Effect novels. The novels will act as prequel and sequels to the events in the games and will become part of the overarching Mass Effect saga. These new stories, developed in close collaboration with the BioWare game team, weave directly into the action of the new game - and will reveal events kept secret over the course of game play - and will add to the canonical Mass Effect saga."
Now since the DLC demand is so high, this might have altered things and they might have to make some now.

The game didn't fail, the EA report to their investors and the information regarding sales point to ME:A being successful. Not the roaring success that was hoped for, but still successful.

What if DLC was never planned because they wanted to slowly get back into the world of ME and test fans, so they thought novels would be best, but now they saw how many want DLC and things might have to change?

I don't either, but trying to see both sides, and makes sense of why "sources" (if they were legit and Jason is just messing up again) might think DLC was not planned. I'm with you, believe me lol I'm just saying if we don't get DLC, it's likely not due to the game sucking like many wish, it's because they wanted to try something else. We have so much proof the game was a decent success that pleased EA.

They set up too many game elements for DLC, I don't buy into the novel idea, no offense. Ditto. A nice idea but not one I think is the case. The end of game hint about the quarian ark screams DLC and fits in with this story, and is too connected to be part of aa separate game. Ellen Ryder too perhaps, although that may just be for an upbeat note at the end. On the other hand the background, about the Jaardan and the Scourge feel more like laying the groundwork for future installments. So DLC hooks which may now be shoved off into novels instead is a possibility but I very much doubt that was always the intention.

We have so much proof the game was a decent success that pleased EA. I wouldn't go that far - only a moderate success is sometimes not enough, big successes are the only acceptable outcome in some quarters.

I like how people forget before Andromeda released, some people made romance leaks from anonymous sources and this forum believed them. Suddenly, a reliable journalist also uses anonymous sources for things people don't want to be true and suddenly everyone screams fake. This forum deserves to get mocked

I wasn't trying to imply you shouldn't edit your stuff to feel comfortable, especially in light of recent events. I'm incredibly sad and disappointed that our forum members even feel the need to have to protect themselves from potential doxxing by a Kotaku writer. "Seething" would be a good descriptive of my underlying mood for about the past 48 hours.

I did find it ironic that with most AAA games it's the fashionable thing for the audience to scream bloody murder about DLC and how 'THEY'RE SELLING US HALF THE GAME ERMAHGERD THINGS WERE SO MUCH BETTER IN 1999 WHEN GAMES WERE RELEASED WITHOUT BUGS AND WERE PERFECT GODDAMN MONEY GRUBBERS NICKLE AND DIME IF THIS WAS A CAR IT WOULD BE SOLD WITHOUT WHEELS' blah blah blah. Here, the reverse is happening and it's equally the end of the world. Tough gig, eh?

Why the ire? Jason is simply reporting what his sources have communicated to him, nothing more. You know, Laura K Buzz recently spoke to dogs abuse she got after revealing things (that turned out to be entirely true) about the Switch. It's almost as if those people blamed her for the development. Such is the the case with Jason it seems!

I have asked multiple sources close to Jason, and can confirm that he unironically uses Comic Sans and thinks the Sand Snakes and the Dorne storyline are the best parts of Game of Thrones.
