Wow, regards the Ashley vs Kaiden poll, looks like it's Ashley that is toast.

Why?

The Twitter poll favours Kaiden,
while this site favours Ashley.

Odd that there is a different opinion, don't understand that...

I guess I had expected both polls to have the same consensus, one way or the other.
I don't understand why that one would take a different view to this one.

And the poll isn't done yet, it was just interesting to see the difference.

Both the poll here and the one on our twitter are valid.

I've checked a variety of other polls and the outcome varies, though Kaiden seems to be toast slightly more often.

I voted both polls and in both polls I picked "Sorry, Ashley." I've never saved her, even though I really like her a lot in the first game. After seeing clips from the 3rd game, I doubt I will ever save her.

I voted Ashley to be saved of course. On the topic of why twitter is different from a forum such as this one, as far as preferences go, I think comes down to a couple of reasons.

First off, if you as a player take the time and effort to register on a forum and engage in ongoing discussions, you're likely to be more emotionally involved than someone that played the game, perhaps liked it, but moved on to the next one.
Sharing game experiences, common interests and joining discussions lead to more knowledge of the game and perhaps less bias. This might be the reason the forum poll is quite close so far.

If you go to media like Youtube or Twitch, you'll notice quite a lot of Ashley hate or negativity, while on forums such as these or the Bioware forums I didn't notice it nearly as much.
It could of course also be the demographic of this forum. Perhaps the more open minded or reasonable people from the Bioware forums migrated to here. Or there's are about the same amount of people that liked either of them.
Although, chosing one or the other doesn't mean you hate the one you didn't save. Sometimes there's other reasons for justifying that decision.

I don't have twitter, if I did, I would have voted. Perhaps there's just more people with twitter that happened to have played Mass Effect than people that were really invested and knowledgable but don't have twitter. Then again if everyone had twitter that has played the games, and would have voted, Kaidan would still have won.

There was a survey done on the Bioware forums. The same question was asked there, and it was 48% Ashley saved vs 50% Kaidan.

I've locked the Ashley / Kaiden poll, it's just too close to call, and I'll accept the Twitter audience as being more 'random'...
