#SAVETHEQUARIANS - DLC Support Hub

I think it depends on what people mean by "dead". Do they mean dead as in nobody is playing it, the servers are empty, and Bioware has no scheduled patches? Or do they mean dead as in, people still play it and Bioware still plans on patching the game, but in terms of continuing it's story through story DLCs and sequels? It think it is more of the latter. 

Is the game dead as in nobody playing it? No, I am sure there are still people who play MEA for the MP or SP, but how many? That is what EA knows internally and that is what EA will use (or have already used) to determine if it is financially sound to put more money into the game and develop SP DLC. 

I mean, so yeah, this hashtag movement is supposed to show EA/Bioware that people like the game? Again, that is so hilarious because I am sure it is obvious that people like the game as Bioware as a very loyal fanbase. But but if their internal data shows that it still isn't financially sound to go forward, then that is what they will base the decision off of. 

I mean, I seriously doubt some suit & tie up at the Electronic Arts HQs is sitting at his/her desk and saying, "Hmmmm, this #SaveTheQuarians movement is quite strong. Our internal data shows that if we pour money into SP DLC, it would be a financial loss, but who cares? I am going to go forward with DLC anyways, despite the financial hit we will take since #SaveTheQuarians is so strong"

I mean, really?

But if a dev or two who had to go through all the post-release hate sees some of the positive comments in the hashtag - showing some enjoyed the game and would like to see more of it - and gets a smile because of it, then the hashtag's already done some good.

That's part of the reason why I've been pumping it: a show of support and appreciation.

If that's so horrible and offensive and illogical, then here... I will spread my arms and you can go ahead and nail me to the cross, then. Since this hashtag apparently has you, what, exactly? Some type of negative emotion, clearly, since you've brought it up at least in two or three other threads across the forum.

I'm not questioning whether or not the movement will make some executive, artist, or programmer smile. What I am questioning is people believing that the "movement" popularity will somehow override whatever other metrics/data that EA uses in order to forecast profit gain/loss on a particular endeavor.  But I won't deter this thread any further. Continue on with your movement.

It is not speculation. All publishers have certain formulas or standards that they use in order to decide if a game should get a sequel or future content. Now I am sure that EA/Bioware had already planned for a string of SP DLC for MEa (hence the Quarian hint). However, they just do not go blindly into it. They will evaluate if it still makes financial sense to go forward and they would use certain factors to determine Yes or No. This decision is most likely done within the first few weeks after launch as that is where most of the sales and activity comes from, this is when the journalist reviews come, and this is where the initial reaction comes. By April, EA most likely already made up their mind if they are going to go forward or not because game development is very complex. EA has so many projects going on, they have to make decisions quick and not drag them out because they are sitting on money and they have to decide where it is allocated. I doubt, here in mid-July they are still debating on whether they should make SP DLC or not. If they are making SP DLC, then this decision was already made months ago and money has already been allocated toward that endeavor. If they are not making SP DLC, then this decision was again already made months ago and the money has already been allocated to other projects (as the Kotaku article suggest). 

So we gotta continue to #SAVETHEQUARIANS!

I usually finish a game once, then stop playing until first DLC is released and then continue playing DLC with that character. Once all DLC is released, I start a complete new playthrough with a new character. That's what I did with ME 2 & 3. Although I like MEA i haven't played it in the last few weeks because I'm waiting/hoping for DLC so I can continue to play.

Excellent. That shows how pathetic Tali is. She stands there like the dumba** she is while the geth uploads the code instead of making any attempt to stop it. She never cared about her species. Too bad there wasn't a renegade interrupt to laugh as she's falling.

Is there any hope that you could just leave the positive ME:A threads alone? There isn't any harm in being optimistic and there is no need to shit on the optimists.
