I'm waiting for someone to mention human sentinel and kineticist and saying how easy it is for those classes, so I have the courage to try for myself. Human Sentinel is one of the BEST for platinum (especially vs. Outlaws). I leave throw at Rank I and max everything else, electric barricade is a must. Find a corner and hunker down behind your barricade. 2 Human sentinels can lock down a room that only has 2 entrances (works best on Sandstorm vs Outlaws). Killa has some videos up of the PS4 A-Team doing this. Easy Plat farming. While I agree that rank 6 Barricade has much greater utility in Plat than it ever did in Gold, I still prefer to only put 1 point in it. It doesn't lock down areas quite as effectively without the stun, but you can still slow down all non-bosses entering a tight area or room from one direction - e.g. during a hack or upload - long enough to stack and 'splode them, or headshot them, or both, as your preference and abilities dictate. It also redirects fiends quite effectively even at 1 point, although that's much less of an issue since their sync danger's been all but removed. Hydras/Blaze Hydras just hop right over, whether 1 point or 6. As for Throw, if you leave it at rank 1 you're sacrificing: -- 30% detonation damage with 6B (since swift detonation has been fixed); -- significant recharge speed bonus(es)(30% and 50%, respectively, if you take both 5B and 6B); and/or -- an AoE primer (with 4B Radius and 5A Duration). The loss of the detonation damage is particularly noticeable if you're using ammo to prime and detonate frequently. Very subjective, so I'm not saying I'm right, just that I much prefer a mobile detonation build* even on Plat. Personally, I love Throw and max it on every kit that has it. My opinion is also heavily influenced by the fact that I actively avoid groups that campfarm, so the playstyle you described wouldn't mesh well with my Plat lobbies. *Admittedly, the asari Sentinel does the same better, subbing Backlash for Barricade, so there's certainly a separate argument in favor of utilizing Barricade if only for variety.

Adding Krogan Engineer to my list. Glass Jaw is not recommended with her though...

I've only done ponytail and the human infiltrator bc I have pretty much nothing other than the uncommons leveled up to 20 (and I haven't even finished those bc I love the ponytail).

Asari Sentinel. Reflecting Platinum Observer death lasers is hilarious. Just be careful not to get your Backlash Aegis broken, the stagger will likely lead to your swift demise.
But yeah, super tanky queen of Tech Combos is still good on Platinum.

I'm waiting for someone to mention human sentinel and kineticist and saying how easy it is for those classes, so I have the courage to try for myself. The kineticist was fairly easy, we ARE talking about platinum so easy is a relative term, however I topped the board when I used her the two times I actually completed platinum. She's just garbage against robots tho. I use disruptor ammo and that kind of helps but they shake off your biotics so quickly that even though it's possible to get a combo you're getting lit up trying. And she's still squishy. So, provided you're not going up against remenent she's a beast. No idea about the sentinel tho, I've never used them. Don't use most of the humans outside of Kenny.

The havoc surprised me with how tanky she still is in platinum. Until you land, of course. Or if you think you're hovering but you're actually not. Or if you're indoors and the camera decides to transform into a microscope examining her carapace. But yeah, the rest of the time, floating and raining flak and death on all comers.
