Bring back Nightman

Yep, the queen of BSN got banned.

Sad news, yet true.

And so it begins

OMG. Dragon Racer got banned, this is unbelievable.
 

Ok that's not cool, unless he did something really bad; surely a BSN regular and ME3 vet deserves a wee bit of leeway? I also vote to bring back Nightman.

We wouldn't normally comment on these things, but I'll make a couple of points.

The moderators around here don't ban people on a whim, you really have to work pretty hard to get perma-banned (or drop a nuclear post).
I happen to like Nightman but yep, there was more than enough reason (particularly in the shoutbox) to merit it.
There were plenty of second chances.

Alt-returning is a mighty 'fuck-you' to the forum, particularly as it says the poster has absolutely no respect for the temporary ban.

We're not looking for rule-abiding alts of rule-abiding posters.
The alts that the moderators particularly pay attention to are the alts of banned members.

Nightman is one of only 4 'celebrity' banned members (that we know of) who try to pop back in from time to time.
(one of whom made 16 alts in total - who knows, maybe they were successful or gave up after that)

So to the OP's question, yes we are serious and no it wasn't a minor breach.

And we'll be equally alert the next time we smell steak.

I seriously doubt he was banned without earning it. Coming from what we had back at BSN, the staff here was never going to nitpick at members for bullshit reasons, but they also aren't going to put up with the type of personalities that undermine their authority and challenge them repeatedly. If Nightman got a permaban, he was probably asking for it.

Anyone with BSN history can't possibly find this outcome all that 'befuddling'.
I have zero knowledge of these recent events, but I've had the dubious honor of being on the receiving end of a choice Nightman/2Fase drunken tirade before.
