I've failed three plat pugs, all with avengers - one that definitely wasn't the avenger's fault. I've yet to fail a plat pug with no stealth kits (to be fair, there have only been a handful of these). Yes hydras still track you and dogs still "smell" you, but that's such a small percentage of the aggro. These are exactly the excuses I would have used to defend cloak had I not learned better playing with the top tier guys in ME3MP. Having played with inert, I can testify that he's a very efficient killer disguised as a perfect teammate. ...but the argument could also be made that it is the teammates of cloakers that need to learn to get good as well? My 2 cents.Certainly true - but it doesn't address the core problem of aggro dump. Being good enough to compensate doesn't make a teammate's cloaking any less selfish. Ultimately it doesn't matter what people pick to play as. You can always judge if you can do well in the lobby or not before readying up (a luxury compared to ME3MP). I'm just sharing my opinion that cloak is a crutch and a selfish one at that. Reliance on stealth =/= git gud. If you must use stealth, you better really bring the hurt. Fortunately there are some players out there that do.

Get close to the doggie-like things and they can 'smell' & attack you (love their 'sniffing' animation) Actually allmost every enemy can do that. Berserkers 90% of the time dont care about your cloak, they will just stay there you go invis and spam their flacks right into you. Too bad cloak haters dont realise simple things like this. They do not realize things like this because they are just that good.

Beloved Bioware, this is how we defeat the cowardly cloak scrub army. 1) Hacks should not work when cloaker cloaks. Hacks should only work when his cowardly behind stays revealed. 2) Cloak and Stealth grid need a spool up time. They'd need to hold respective buttons for 3 seconds minimum before cloak or stealthgrid activates. During this spool up period, characters should gradually turn invisible. Kett Bros, Beserker bros, Behemoth Cutie and adorable li'l adhi doggies need to be able to annihilate these cloakers during the spool up time. 3) Lets turn that Angara Avenger into platinum trash. In Jesus name, Amen. P.S Let's add 20 more points to the Vanquisher's weight for old times sake as well. You say that now but when your non-cloaking ass is downed and somebody with invis comes to res you without getting taken out in process, i bet you'll be singing a different tune. The problem is not with cloaking heroes, its with the badly designed hacks. Every time a dog re-spawns directly behind you, the hack is halted. If enemies re-spawned further away, people would be less reliant on cloak because they wouldn't have to be constant medics for the rest of the team. Teleporting dogs/fiends/krogans are also a huge problem right now. People are sick of that bullshit so they pick a character with a cloak so they survive the bugs. A lot of people aren't like you and me with a decent manifest. Many of them only have vanilla rare weapons. They can't survive onslaughts coz they don't have siphon weapons at decent levels.

A lot of people aren't like you and me with a decent manifest. Many of them only have vanilla rare weapons. They can't survive onslaughts coz they don't have siphon weapons at decent levels. Which is why you use consumables and pick your time. You're basically taking a very long time to say you don't know to play anything else on platinum, or you're simply not good enough to. Also if you're dumb enough to stay cloaked and stationary on an open lane you deserve every ounce of shrapnel your noncompetent butt receives. Bioware's implementation of what was a hacky SP function is now a shitty reproduction that can only be labeled as lazy. The engine they have now is fully capable using other methods for temporary targeting obfuscation and choosing what they did is simply lazy, there's no nice way to spin it. There's no excuse for it, and they had over four years to come up something equivalent to Warfarme, to AvP, to even good ol L4D, put together with the finest tape and glue Source had to offer. Your logic is the same kind of carryme that pervaded me3 plat until such time as ammo IV was a prevalent thing, by the Build Team's own admission.

When the shields go down and I'm in a shitstorm, I cloak to recover. That brief few seconds of agro that go elsewhere is trivial, compared to the lengthy agro that goes elsewhere if I go down. Plus, it's a worse effect on the team if someone is down in a crowd and no one can get there before the big stomp. There are many things that make some missions harder than others, but this one is pretty small.
If anyone can't handle that, they shouldn't be in gold. If you don't like it, leave the lobby if an infiltrator shows up. I sometimes see players leave silver lobbies when I show up with a low-rank character and my weak common weapons; even bronze sometimes. Doesn't bother me, we all have to level up and a cloak helps.

Nope, my ass doesn't need a revive from a scrub. A decent manifest or siphon weapons not gonna cut it for a scrub either. The very minute Bioware makes my requested changes, they will truly know their place and go back to farming gold at 50K a piece. That would be a good day. P.S. Just had a 15 game platinum winning streak with 3 of my buddies...2 Krogan Mercs with uncommon Ruzad Siphons, Human Soldier with Piranha IV, Salarian Operator with a revenant. Yep, not a single cloak character and we had weapons that are easy to get. Plenty of hacks (No fing problem). There are simple tricks with positioning to beat the AI. I even talked about it on another thread at some point. Cloak makes platinum that much harder for a team effort. But, .....Stoopid is as stoopid does...A scrub is a scrub not because he's got a bad manifest, but, because he's dumb.

Stealth Grid is the best ability in the game. Something has to be the best. The question is, are the various cloaks so good that nothing else makes sense to play? I see a lot of variety out there, so I suspect it isn't too overpowered.
If you wanted to nerf cloaks a bit, the most logical way to do it would be to shorten their durations. That would keep them "in the mix" with non-clockers a bit more.
My opinion though, is that they're fine as they are.
