Hamletic's Tales from the TrenchesWeek 11: The CitadelII. Scraping the Bottom of the Barrel (Hardcore) 26:58 - fraggle | BalbockHack / Devices / Targets A rather easy and relaxing challenge and I really enjoyed sniping away at those toasters Btw, this is not my result screen, as Balbock wasn't shown in it (thanks, buggy game ), so he kindly let me use his to post it. Avoiding a triple post may or may not have been the reason that I'm the one posting the results of this challenge

This one gave us a bit of trouble (, as in I died in stupid places with my Novaguard too often where fraggle didn't really had a chance to revive me). A few attempts ended at the wave 8 mark, and today, with only time for one match, we gave it another go: Hamletic's Tales from the Trenches
Week 3: Grissom AcademyII. Exchange Program (Hardcore) 26:55 - fraggle | BalbockHack / Delivery / Delivery The Hack was brutal and needed some more missles, OpsPack and Medigels than we would have liked , including a missile'd Abomb, that got me (Nice One ), but we made it through and we started to play a lot more carefull from that point on. Wave 6 Pizza was very nice. 2 short ways with no enemies what so ever on it. And then wave 8 rolled around and went without any major problems. Wave 9 aswell and for wave 10 the Pizzas were in nearly the same spots like in wave 6 which made those somewhat easy and quick aswell. In the extraction wave I lost track over a Pretorian till it reminded me about its presence with 40s to go. fraggle managed to stagger it, but sadly it was a fraction of a second to late (still well done ). From there she went for the long way around the map to a succsessfull (Lone Surviver) extraction. (I guess the Abomb made the difference )

In search for another Solo to get stuck on just to have something to come back later. I have heard 183 Pull-ups a popular one for that. Making my way towards it now: N7 Challenge Series (Gold)
N1 - Recruiting All ForcesI. Enhanced Defense Intelligence 41:30 - Balbock (264707)Hack / Hack / Devices Probably some more kiting than nesseary in this one. The Loadout was kind of interesting for the AIU. Not sure if it is enouth for me to play this kit anytime soon again. II. CDEM 46:18 - Balbock (270015)Escort / Escort / Hack I can't remember the last time when I did play the Paladin for anything else than Snap-Freeze Support for a friend. And that showed ingame, but I enjoyed something about the loadout. That's a bit of a first for me with this kit. Guess I will start some experimenting soon. III. Cyone Must Not Fall! 46:04 - Balbock (204569)Delivery / Escorte / Targets Some "awesome" gameplay with usinng my last Medigel in wave 8 ... This map always gives me trouble. I should really start to learn it better...

Redid some N7 Challenges (Gold) quite a while ago:
N4 - Vital Signs
III. Annihilation
N6 - The Scope of Perspective
I. Garrus' Calibrations Part 2 - Archangel
I'm just not fast. But at least I was able to shave some minutes off the former runs.

Congrats to Pfefferi for completing the Weekly Themed Solos 1 on Hardcore difficulty with the second best cumulative time ever! You're less than 5 minutes away from the first place, and getting there is doable in so many ways! One redo for 5 min gain, or two redos for 2-3 min gain each, or five redos for only 1 min gain each. Or redo all challenges while making sure you gain at least 14 sec in each. In any case, well done. Will you tackle Epic/Legendary next, or take on some other series?

Perhaps a few redos are in order, though I could risk waking a sleeping giant, if Techno wishes to defend her record.

Just some minor nitpicking: Pfefferis submission for Week 17 - I Will Destroy You got listed in Hardcore, although it is the submission for Insanity. Changes nothing for the cumulative time as I understand and changes nothing for my admiration of her impressive achievement.

Not stuck yet: N7 Challenge Series (Gold)
N2 - Nature Versus NurtureI. Resolve of the Shadowbroker 35:55 - Balbock (317586)Hack / Hack / Targets For now my favourite of these Solos. Head shoting stasis'd Phantoms, never gets old. II. Lay Down The Lawson 47:19 - Balbock (237409)Hack / Hack / Targets Cyconic IV and Tech Armor and it still feels like tissue paper at times vs. Collectors. Still wonder how I made it through the first hack in the big open area inside with just 2 OpsPacks and kite away the Pretorian 4 times. That Position is mean if a few Captains shoot into it from above. The first few attempts were a struggle but after switching to a different wave starting spot it became easier for me to kite effectively through the waves. Not quite sure about the cyro ammo's influence on the succsess III. 183 Pull-ups 55:29 - Balbock (261995)Targets / Hack / Escort Shield Power Cells > Cyclonics. (At least for me, Vs Reaper. On Rio. at this time)Failed a few times with Cyclonics IV but succeeded in the first attempt with Shield Power Cells III. Well, having the Hack at the one place with decent cover may help aswell.

The Halls of Fame are up to date with runs submitted up to July 30. Let us welcome Balbock to the N7 Challenges Hall of Fame on Gold, where he earned the title of N1 Operative! Keep up the good work! Let us also cheer on our dream-team, doh and @thetechnoturian, as they work on improving their times in Themed Duo Challenges on Platinum. Right now they're at 6h 48m total for TDC1 and at 7h 44m total for TDC2, holding firmly the speed records for every single challenge in both series. Can they bring the cumulative times under 6 and 7 hours? Stay tuned!

While looking through the Hall of Fame for the "Tales from the Trenches", I noticed that the "II. Apology Acknowledged" Hardcore Run, fraggle and I did, is currently listed under the insanity section of "Week 8: Rannoch I. This planet is ours". Just wanted to point this out in case it is not already known. It is fixed now.

N7 Challenge Series (Gold)N2 - Nature Versus NurtureIII. 183 Pull-ups (BF 3 Soldier with Katana) 42:25 - Sonashii (239 728 pts) [V]So I think it's been a good couple of months since my last individual submission. I think I was inspired by some Frank's redos, and Bal's submissions. So I decided to give a try, one of my three most hated challenges from N7 series (at least those were my least favourite back in the day). I didn't plan to actually finish it, so I turned on the music, relaxed a bit and decided to see how far I could go. For the entire match I thought I had to achieve 3 WS, so in the end I thought I was going to post this in "my last solo in whatever" thread. But since I was wrong, I dedicate this run to DistigousForest To be honest I also wanted to see how much I've improved over the last year, since I did my last run of this challenge. My 1st submission included Katana and took me like 64 mins. So doing it in 42, and beating my 49 Revvy time, is quite nice. Also this run reminded me of a feeling I had whenever I finished a run for N7 series. That was and surprisingly IS, to this very day, a special feeling Bal submitted his run, now I submitted my 3rd (!) Pull-ups run, so I'm expecting your to be the next. No excuses

I. Resolve of the Shadowbroker
Oh, and if someone meets Sonashii the next few days - he's probably searching for a new duo partner. I may or may not have fucked up a Duo during extraction.
And the second one after killing the 4th target W10.

N7 Challenge Series - HardcoreN1.I Enhanced Defense Intelligence38:09 - SenorZanahoria (272 230 pts) [v]Targets/Objects/Hack N2.III 183 Pull-ups41:31 - SenorZanahoria (245 512 pts) [v]Escort/Objects/Hack Since I started this series, I might as well start posting my progress I'm not sure how far I'll get though, but maybe it'll motivate me a bit. Did the first challenge a couple of months ago after talking a bit to Sonashii, so there's not much I remember. But I do remember being very thankful for Repair Matrix, a scrub like me needs that I wanted to continue with the series, but for some reason, I haven't managed N1.II yet, and since I wanted to do them in order, I left it aside for some time. Then I saw Sonashii's and Balbock's submissions (also docsteely's from a couple of weeks ago) for Pull-ups and thought, give it a try. I didn't expect it, but I really enjoyed that one. Well, except maybe for waves 8 and 9, I kept running from the banshees, because I was scared of getting sync killed. It took me four five tries to do it, and I got closer with every single one of them (except the fourth which ended on wave 3), here are the first three fails: The second one hurt a bit, as I had survived for 5 waves, then got objects and completely messed those up. When I saw the central hack in wave 10 in the successful attempt, my only thoughts were 'Thank god I'm allowed to glitch it' I'll see when I'll continue, but if I keep this pace, I should be done within the next ten years!

It took me four tries to do it, and I got closer with every single one of them, here are my three fails: The second one hurt a bit, as I had survived for 5 waves, then got objects and completely messed those up. When I saw the central hack in wave 10 in the successful attempt, my only thoughts were 'Thank god I'm allowed to glitch it' I'll see when I'll continue, but if I keep this pace, I should be done within the next ten years! IMO pull ups is fun on gold too.I love to spam grenades and rio is the best map for the goal. You can equip GS as well.4 grenades are more than enough, since Rio has two 3 grenade ammo boxes.
