Apologies for abandoning updating for a while, HoF is now up to date. A little recap: - DocSteely, Sonashii, frank_is_crank reach N7 on Silver difficulty
- AW_FC_1986 achieves the Lone Star of Terra in an impressive display of self loathing and masochism, you, Sir, deserve the title. Congratulations.
- Sonashii becomes Worthy of Archangel by completing all Blackwatch solos on Veteran difficulty
- TheTechnoTurian, newly and first ever appointed Lodestar, also achieves peak Video Games and gets to the top of 99.99999% of every list in every HoF. Most recently - Tales From The Trenches (Insanity Completionist Board), For Tuchanka's Sparring Partners (Insanity Duos), Omega On Fire's Reputable Mercenary (Insanity Duos). Technically, I dragged along for the previous 3 things but, in the company of such an incredible murderous machine my presence was negligible and my only role was to provide High Quality Host. Hats off to you for the Sickest solo and team plays I have ever witnessed/experienced in this video game. (if you ever want to play Volus Vanguard with projectile weapons again, my host is at your service)
This is it folks, thanks for keeping up with this thread. Wish you all most gruesome ends in your ME3MP endeavours. (I have updated a lot of stuff at once so mistakes are very possible)

Thank you ex-clusum for keeping the Hof up to date and thriving.
I do feel some sadness with MEA out and this feeling of having to move on to a (let's face it) less fun multiplayer experience. It truly feels like the end of an era. ME3 and this thread have been such a privilege and joy for me. Perhaps it is time to embrace the change and try to start something great there? Time will tell.
Either way, I can't thank you guys enough. I feel like I've been through battle with you guys.

It was and it is stll the best thread in the BSN forum,Pres. We have to thank you for that great thread.MEA sucks very hard(my opinion) and i don't want to move on to MEA MP.I couldn't like MEA,despite the fact i still play, but only because i spent money for it.I doubt MEA themed thread will be at least half as good as ME3.I miss the old times, when i started to post here.I was totally fascinated and i couldn't wait to get home and try new crazy but fun challenge.I have to admit that i was obsessed. Was a pleasure to be a part from the themed challenge thread. Here i learned a lot of things and played with the best players in the biz.And now what-MEA...As for TNS,haven't seen him since January, when we played one duo(you can guess vs which faction) or it was December, can't remember exactly.

I am quite fond of this challenge myself Unfortunately, if you have failed previous attempts, you don't qualify for the happy ending, the reapers win (perhaps that's why muahmuah left you and headed for Andromeda? ), and Rio is your way to completion. You can always do the other mission from week 15 as a bonus challenge though! I'd love to see a team complete all the missions in the set! Edit: I did agree on lowering the kill count to 100 on Insanity, that's true! so you do have more medals than necessary that's why your try with AW was accepted, muahmuah! In this case however, you have other previous uncompleted attempts, and I won't be swayed that easily this time I confess I want to see someone complete 15.I on platinum...

I prefer speed instead grind. That's why we failed.

I stand corrected! You are right of course, the smg medal is 50 kills, sorry! I haven't done challenges in a while, it seems I am forgetting the basics The other option available would be to equip disruptor or inc ammo and go for some tech kills... plus, you know, TECH ARMOR not that it would make much sense I guess; I wanted this challenge to be tense from beginning to end, and I figured a good way to do so was making players think about which kind of kill they should go for, but without going overboard with it, so smg and biotic kills - which should come without jumping through too many hoops - are enough to get the necessary medals, but you still need to plan a little throughout the match

While I'm looking forward to 14.II, and I think that its level of difficulty is appropriate, I have mixed feelings at the same time. There's a lot of things that can go wrong. For example me and Anub have been suffering from constant lag and rubberbanding. There was only a handful of challenges free of it, so imo it would be unfair to fail at 14.II just because our connection is bad. Also while Platinum is hard as it is, on Gold it's going to be more difficult to get all the kills requirements, since wave budget is smaller. But of course is doable. My point is - what if during 14.II the game decides to crash, or someone will get down because ops pack didn't work properly etc. ?

My point is - what if during 14.II the game decides to crash, or someone will get down because ops pack didn't work properly etc. ? You bring up very valid points, and I have been on the brink regarding the "do it on the first try" stipulation myself because of them. Perhaps I can assuage some of your concerns. First of all, I don't see not making it on the first try as failing! Whether you pass it on your first try or on a later one, completing the challenge is what counts the final mission might change, but you still get to complete the series (and hopefully decide to do the other mission from week 15 as a bonus too). I mentioned it in an earlier post, I will never enforce this "rule"! I can see how it might trouble some players, and I want this series to be first and foremost about having fun. I did not detail any edge-cases (like the ones you mention) on purpose: I leave that up to you. If you don't think it is a fair stipulation at all, or even in the spirit of the challenges, to ask for completing it on your first try, that is a fair point! It is up to you to decide if you want to submit to this rule or not. If you'd rather not play with this rule, don't mention anything in your post, and I will not ask about it I am leaving this one up to you I want to try and address some of your points specifically. I think it is actually a lot easier to get the required kills on gold, because while the budgets is smaller, there are more cheap units on the field. For example, it's doable to let husks come to you on the first two waves, and squeeze a number of kills out of them. Wave 7 has 3 husks and only one banshee, so that's also a good wave to milk a few more easy kills out of (esp if you got the 5WS requirement out of the way already); with a good wave 3 objective, you can try and milk that too. In my four tries at this challenge, we got the required kills around waves 7 or 8 thrice (only having to go to wave 9 once), without doing and particular milking. As for what would invalidade the run, I went in with the idea that only a game-breaking glitch would allow for a reset: a drone falling through the floor, a server disconnect, someone joining your game; lag, magnetic hands, and everything that can happen over the course of a match did count for us - and we did have a lot of lag, especially emexxia who has to deal with lag pretty much nonstop playing with me, since we live halfway across the world from each other. In the end I opted against laying out specific rules, because I'd rather leave that up to the players. Perhaps I can also detail some of my thought process regarding this challenge I wanted a few things: I wanted to make the Reapers feel threatening, I wanted to make the end of ME3 mean something, trying to really make the "this is it, isn't it" feel warranted; as Anderson says "You have one chance at this!". As it usually is in games, when you play as Shepard, you know there isn't any danger of losing: the Reapers are on the verge of success, but you are the hero of the game, of course you'll pull through. But when we play mp, we know the game takes the gloves off, so to speak. It is possible to fail missions. I wanted that to be a part of the challenges; I figured it also would make players perhaps play differently, more cautiously, giving them a different feel for the match. I also knew I wanted a platinum game down the line; I wanted a mission where you face all the factions, actually, I wasn't really aiming for the difficulty coming from playing platinum; so I figured giving a choice for players not to play 15.I was a good thing to have. However, I also realize not everyone might enjoy this kind of challenge - while it is possible to fail missions in mp, doing so carries no penalty over! Which is why I let you be the arbiter of whether it is necessary to beat this on the first try in order to get the "good" ending! ... plus, you just need to re-do the whole series for another fresh shot at this one, right? ... I should go

I think that your challenges are incredible and I enjoy them very much. I just must think about that 14.II. Probably we'll end up playing on Anub's host and me as a HSentinel with full damage reduction. But we're only half way through, week 8 is ahead of us

Hamletic's Tales from the Trenches (Hardcore) Week 7: Dreadnought
I. They Won't Know What Hit Them (Turian Saboteur with Saber; Volus Mercenary with Typhoon)34:20 - Anubita | Sonashii (5WS)Targets / Hack / Targets I had a big laugh with this challenge. I knew this one was coming so I played that specific kit a couple of times and it was surprisingly solid. Also I probably nerfed myself as I had equipped extended clip and stability mod on Typhoon. Probably should've gone with HV or extended barrel. We almost got 10WS but geth bomber said - nupe, to my shield boost :/ After the match Anub told me that he had one thrilling moment. During one of the later waves Geth forces overruned us in the Disco room, so we had to bow out. It was tough, Anub hid behind a cover and saw two Primes passing him by to destroy my decoy Very fun challenge. II. The Immovable Object (N7 Destroyer with PPR; N7 Demolisher with Harrier)28:22 - Anubita | Sonashii (3WS)Hack / Hack / Delivery I have a one thing to say about this challenge. If you're too confident, this can easily turn out sideways. It took us 3 attempts. On a 1st run we were interrupted by my friend, who joined us without a warning Second try we got recked because we didn't plan how to control the tower properly. Finally on our last attempt we sorted out everything. I went with Hawk Missiles build because I didn't want to fight for the nades with Anub. It resulted with a couple of abombs blowing right on our faces All in all - Week 8: Rannoch
I. This planet is ours (QFI with Javelin; QME with Geth Pulse Rifle)34:03 - Anubita | Sonashii (3WS)Delivery / Devices / Targets We decided to play week 8 on Anub's host. The beginning was almost perfect, no problems whatsoever. Nades to stagger the enemies, close up to get a headshot (it wasn't the most pleasant experience in my life, especially with GPR). Then from a wave 5 I believe, things started to get grim. Playing on Anub's host, while he was rocking dem infiltrator, was tough. To describe how brilliant that was, I'd like to say, that I finished match with only 1 medi-gel left. All of the rockets, ops packs and ammo packs were used before. And Anub's got his revive medal. So yeah... But I must admit, I enjoy manly games, when you have to dig deep to cross the finish line. There can't be always flowers and kittens II.Apology Acknowledged (Geth Juggernaut with Spitfire; BF3 Soldier with Valkyrie)25:28 - Anubita | Sonashii (3WS)Targets / Escort / Devices After the 8.I I could finally relax I took my dusty Juggy for a spin and went all berserk, annihilating Geth forces left and right. We took the easiest (imo) version of this challenge. It was 2 am so we wanted to end it quickly. I think it resulted in easiest challenge so far for us

This thread started, when ME3MP mostly released its final state. Since MEA is still in development (bug fixes included), I think its not the time to start with themed challenges yet. Besides, I'm not finished with common stuff due to RL. Maybe it would be better to wait and see where MEA goes.

Hamletic's Tales from the Trenches (Insanity)
Week 15: Epilogue
I. The Pale Blue Dot (N7 Paladin Sentinel with Hurricane; Asari Adept with Paladin pistol)44:31 - The_Doctor46N7 | SonashiiHack / Delivery / Targets Muah suggested today we could do some challenges. Since nobody was around in the beginning we decided to duo some platinum. I thought it would be a good thing to practice this challenge because I've got the feeling that me and Anub won't get the good ending haha. As you see, dr T'Soni held back Trollectors on her own. Unfortunately Reapers wiped out almost all Alliance forces. Only one soldier was left. A soldier who had almost no combat experience whatsoever. But he managed to escape from Earth. Future of Liara and her companion is unknown. Whether they survived later or no it's another story to tell. Maybe they'll end up in Andromeda. Who knows? Big thanks to Doc and Muah! ps. HamleticTortoise - finally someone did your bad ending! Hope you'll like it
