We don't know if BW Austin works on MEA, the job application is for Anthem, they simply state that MEA is being supported along with SWTOR and DA4.
Just wondering where they fit MEA DLC when BW Austin will be working on Anthem and SWTOR while BW Edmonton on Anthem and DA4.
None of the job applications loads now for some reason.

The sentence that includes the underlined bit just indicates all the ongoing Bioware projects, across all their studios. The job itself is to work on Anthem in Austin, and I don't see any indication (at least from this screenshot) that there are MEA projects happening at Austin.

My guess is this position is more of a backend position and will deal more with the developer side of the game's development instead of developing the game itself. It might even be more network centered since it is located in Austin with the The Old Republic team.

All it tells us is that Bioware are still supporting Mass Effect. It doesn't say it's happening at Austin, and it doesn't even mention MEA specifically. It pretty much just confirms what we already knew, that there are still people working on Mass Effect in some capacity. |

Anyone else find it a little weird that they're hiring NOW for Anthem, which is supposed to come out next year? I wonder if they've lost people recently. It seems like they're really putting all of their efforts right now towards Anthem. I hope it turns out like they hope, and they can move it to support mode and get back to working on DA/ME.

I'd hope it's not all that unusual, given the long development cycle for a lot of AAA games right now. If I'm an employee at Bioware and a better opportunity comes along, I'm not gonna wait another year or two for a game to ship. Development also tends to ramp up towards the end, and senior programmers are needed to optimize the game once most of the content has been laid down. OT though, I don't think this vacancy proves anything one way or the other. It's like an application for a mortgage job at a bank that says the bank also does loans and insurance. |
