Assist points from biotic user's and others needs fixed!

Well, this thread turned out disappointing. Thought from the first few posts that this was gonna be the type of thread where the troll sticks around and tries to mix it up with everyone.

Instead he smoke-bombed. Troll game: weak.

Guess he went back to one of his other two accounts. If I made an alt, I'd at least pick an interesting name.

I still have no idea how assist stuffs work.

All I know is I benefit from it as long as I don`t care about topping the scoreboard.

Yes, assuming you made your assist with a biotic power.


You can get points for killing and 'assisting' in the kill. I'm guessing if you use Throw on a redbar (which grants 150 points for example) and finish him off with your gun you get assist points for the Throw damage (like +80), and kill points (like +70) for the gun. That's probably the reason why you can get assist points for killing your own baddies, it's just the way it works in the game. Maybe "assist" isn't the proper term, but it's not broken or anything.

Or would people rather go back to ME3's system where the killer gets all the points?

I'd like to make a call for decorum and a good-spirited exchange of ideas.

I have to admit that I don't pay much attention to the scoreboard. Sometimes I feel like I really helped my team win (key boss kills, lots of revives, some key objectives, very few or even no deaths) and I am only third or even fourth on the board and this is mildly irksome, but the payout is the same either way, so really all that matters is the team extracted. If it wasn't a full extraction, then no matter what my score was, I feel like I should have done something more.

I also do have to admit though that the Biotic scoring is sometimes funny. In particular, I'm always a bit annoyed when I Throw something off the map and I get assist points. I want the kill in that case! Who was I assisting, the ground? 😝

Well big manipulator of poultry, what would you otherwise do with those sweet little chickens which do your bidding? Aside from getting on a grill ofcourse 😎?

In all honestly, the damage you do to shields needs to be accounted for in terms of your overall score. Someone could take down a Destroyer's shields, for example, and then you could weak shot it for a few hits and get the majority of the points.   "Yay i got 30 points for taking out both Turrets."

The fact that you can take out 3 mooks in a fraction of the time frame, and score the same amount points, is another issue entirely.

I have fun trying to compete for the best score; but I don't get angry if I'm not in first.
