They can deal a lot of damage especially if you are being targeted by more than one of them. ...but that`s now why they are lethal. The real problem lies with their ability to slow you down as they shoot you...
Remnant: Destroyer (Turret)
I know most people will pick observer as the choice, but I still get killed by turrets way more often. Observers are easy to avoid especially if you use cover. They also stop shooting at you if you stagger them. No straight line No observer beam.
Destroyer turrets, on the other hand, deals massive damage regardless of range and sometimes totally ignore cover because the Destroyer is... tall...
Outlaws: Hydra
This one is tough pick. The Outlaws faction has numerous enemies that are notorious to finish people fast. The likely nominees would be 1. Raider - Has Avenger XXX boosted by adrenaline rush.. and tends to get spawned pikaboo style. 2. Agent / Anarchist / Pariah - Agent has extremely high DPS once start shooting thanks to buff. Anarchist has high damaging shotgun and uses silent but deadly inferno grenade. Last but not least.. Pariah... notorious to kill players with its backlash by reflecting grenades.
However, they are still manageable... but Hydra homing missile just kills you one go.. because it homes in while not affected by shield/health gate a lot. It`s especially bad with lag and ninja missiles.
Just things I noticed more lately since I am trying to use more medi-gels and less survival packs.
Feel free to share who tend to kill you most especially on Platinum. I mostly play Gold.

Turrets and paraiahs. Saboteurs as well.
The most annoying kill of all times was when the dog held me down for a berserker to head-butt my character. I'd cheer them for the teamwork if I was not gritting my teeth so hard.

As with ME3mp the most over powered units in the game by far are the nuisance units. The Dogs, Wraiths, breachers etc. They often come out of no where, they are not one shot easy to kill for most people they totally disrupt your normal combat routine for higher priority targets. They are in fact the highest priority targets when they show up.
I would guess they have indirectly caused me more deaths than any other units in the game.

I would also add the Adhi for the most kill assist in history. I mean, 3/4 of the time I die against Outlaws is because someone finish me while being grabbed, Hydra/Berserkers most of the time. It's extremly annoying when you get grabbed while jumping since you're stuck floating in the air for 5 seconds.
Annoyings are the most deadly thing for the Kett (if we forget the magical teleporting wall/floor/ceiling 300meters long arm grabbing fiend) mostly for the fact that when you get shot by the annoying gun your character can't run evade, he just seems to get stuck/stun by the bullets.
The same thing happens with the turrets of the destroyer, once you get shot your character just won't move or extremely slowly. Observers shooting you while glitching throught a wall is also deadly.
Honnorable mention to anything that grabs/stuns you, the reason 99% of deaths.

For me, it seems the two most common ways are to die to mook burst fire/sustained fire, followed by boss OSK attacks that target me from behind or as I turn a corner.
Observers seem to be my remnant bane.

Serious answer after some thought:
Raiders (still) Destroyer Turret (as noted they can bypass or seemingly ignore cover and do so much damage even a second of being in the stream = death) Observers (when they gang up on you) Assemblers (as accurate as Raiders, just not as aggressive) Hydras (their railgun 'tell' is very subtle so sometimes I don't even know I'm being shot until it's too late)
Nothing else really stands out. Anointed don't usually get the kill on me - they just set me up for something like a Chosen or Destined.

He still magnet grabs.. but it seems like both Ascendant & Fiend sync-kill frequency and accuracy got really nerfed for good.

Stupidity is the leading cause of my deaths. Vast majority of crap that kills me does so because I messed up. At that point whoever delivers the killing blow of the least import, although I will admit that getting target locked by Hydra and not noticing it, is the leading case of 'wtf just happened' deaths. Anointed and destroyer turrets are extremely similar in action. Most deaths to these is because I am caught out of cover, either due to moving, or to getting knocked out of it.
And I do agree that Saboteurs are really really annoying, especially on wave5 when you can have 3-4 of them in the same area. Their hand cannons hurt a lot, hit scan (or at least have projectiles with speed that's too high to avoid), and give no noticeable warning.

I kind of thought as much, but I also wasn't sure if it was just me. The situations that get me the most are 1) Long distance Anointed turrets on open maps (I experience this on Ice Breaker the most) 2) Be crouched behind cover while an Anointed slowly advances on me with his bullet hose (as my friend describes it) and circumvents my cover before I can kill him. At least in ME3, enemies would get staggered if you dropped their shields. It's either Turrets or Observers for me, too. Overall, however, I find Observers much more annoying. Their ability to clip through geometry, their abnormal hit boxes, their random floating trajectories, and their ability to circumvent cover while firing like the Anointed (but usually to a lesser degree). Either Hydra or Anarchists Inferno grenade for me. I have poor awareness sometimes when it comes to inferno grenades. And it's easy to get hit in the back by Hydra rockets, or have them hit you around cover.
