Admittedly with Solas it needed Trespasser but that aside it was pretty clean Solas was at the very end of the game. Not in it's mid, not in the most interesting sidequests that left you hanging out to dry. I don't care if this gets resolved in novels or MP. I'm not interested in the novels or MP, but I was stupid enough to buy the game at full price before it dropped in the bargain bin two weeks later. Actually it was in the epilogue the scene with him and Flemeth and it was in the main game before Trespasser came out so we knew something was up with him we just didn't know what until Trespasser. I was pointing out that that was in truth the only loose thread in the game and that DAI was more or less a complete package and didn't really need DLC to finish it. This is ho wfor me they should make a game by not leaving any threads open unless you plan on releasing DLC at a later date to cover it. It is what it is though we can't change that but leaving MEA in the state it's in for me is a mistake but it's their choice to make given it's their product. I was just pointing out what I would do.

Of course it is. But by the same token it's my choice to not buy any future product at release but when I had a chance to take a good hard look at what it is and what it isn't. Again, lesson learned. Just as with Oblivion, which was the last game I preordered. Now I moved from not preordering anymore to not buying at release. Good job, game industry.

Yeah all we can hope is that the next game they produce which for me will be DA4 is a complete story as I'm not touching Anthem. In the meantime I'm switching my focus to the next game on my radar F1 2017 which is out on Friday.

Finishing the game off through novels and multiplayer missions? Hmm. I'm convinced that we are seeing the death throws of single player RPGs from Bioware. It's a commercial decision I suspect; you could see it starting in DA:I with its mmorpg light structure and stripped down over the shoulder conversations (much cheaper to produce). ME:A continued that and Anthem I suspect is the future. Oh well, hopefully another studio will pick up the baton. It's a shame that CDPR new game doesn't look like you can create your own character. As far as I'm aware of CD:PR hasn't discussed character creation outside of us being able to choose male or female and that of classes being brought over from Cyberpunk 2020 (pen and paper). If you have new information I'd love to hear it.

Apart from my old school racing sims. I don't need the new season, at least until it goes on sale or if it offers some revolutionary new content.

Unfortunate. But the devs still going to support MP and ME:A2 might happen eventually (probably, after Anthem and DA4).

Well, guess who owes Jason an apology? Lots of people. Still, there it is. What most people expected. Sad news. ME is done. Absolutely not. Calling something correctly doesn't excuse bullying behaviour, and IIRC most of the critisism centred around that. The rest was mostly passionate disagreement, sceptisism around his unvarifiable claims (which is no different to the sceptisism of the possibility of DLC), with a few "Jason Sucks" comments thrown in. None of which require an apology. If you wanna go suck up to an arsehole, be my guest. Don't expect me to follow you. I'm shaking now. He was right. Eat that crow and be less salty.

Actually there's quite a lot of new content in 2017 compared with 2016. More than I initially thought as they've added a lot of SP content this year. They've not just enhanced career mode but given us a lot of other modes to play as well. They've thrown a heck of a lot at this years game and I can't wait to get started. Thankfully the wait isn't too much longer. Also tommorrow the press embargo lifts so youtubers and reviews will start coming out on it. So there'll be plenty of vids coming during and after tommorrow. Here's a vid from Aarava one of the youtubers I like talking about some of the other SP game modes from F1 2017.

The disappointment has understandably been centered upon "no new DLC" and concerns for the future of the IP. This game itself, though, still has issues in need of fixing. I play on PS4 Pro, and I still have considerable issues with bugs. The worst bugs were created by their patches. I expected this announcement (or at least outcome) for quite a while; but I'd hoped they'd manage to fix/rollback a few of the worst issues they created before the end. Excessive autosaves; game slowdown; Voeld being a buggy mess... all of these things will forever be a part of the game, now. Sigh.

Well, I am not surprised at all, though I am sad. I do think BW could have done some cool things with ME:A DLC.
I also expect we won't see another ME game for at least 6 years. With Edmonton being busy with the crappy Anthem and possibly DA4 and the new merged Montreal teams working on some new IP, I don't see who could possibly even conceptualize a new ME game. It's a shame BW/EA ran such a fantastic franchise into the ground like this, shame on them. It's not like they didn't get plenty of warning shots before.
A sad day for any ME fan. The only thing that remains now is to hope that they get back to the series eventually and really give it the fresh start it needs at some point down the line.

I knew this, and had felt betrayed since of closing the old forums. The PR has since been a mess. The organization has been a mess. Bioware/ EA should have published a hellava DLC as an apology, that is nothing new in gaming industry - many have actually published a new, fixed and better game like Square Enix did with the Final Fantasy series. That would have make it for me.
This was a very expensive game as they tend to be these days. Yes, Bioware offered patches - BECAUSE THE GAME WAS SO BROKEN I COULD NOT FINISH IT (Xbone gurl) - the upgraded Jaal romance was a nice touch however, but not creating any DLC's for a triple A game with uncomplete story is almost hilariously horrible situation.
And this comes from a person who loves and still somehow trusts Bioware to make her favorite games.
As an answer for this insult I will simply abandon their Dylan of the games. It is not even difficult because I have zero interest for this modern multiplayer crap.

So, in the end, Biower did canonize the "Destroy" ending.
Only it wasn't the Reaper's who were destroyed.
It was their franchise.

It was "fans" with an axe to grind that killed mass effect. Anyone who thinks otherwise has deluded themselves into thinking that the gaming community is anything but petty and self destructive.
I weep for anyone who decides a good career choice is to make video games for these piranhas.

Disappointing but at this point expected news. Hope Bioware will go down pre-ordered expansions in future to avoid this sort of situation as i think they've built an expectation of DLC content through past games even the controversial ones like DA2 and to simply walk away washing their hands is pretty shoddy. The length of time it has taken them to be honest is pretty appalling too. No wonder they don't want their own forums.

No question that it had it's problems, but it sure isn't the first one to do that at launch and games much worst initially, sold way more than this. I can spent here list all of the pros and cons, but at the end of the day, I like it and wanted them to wrap up loose story elements at the least.

I doubt it will happen, but it would be nice if the people in management positions, instead of saying things like, "We wish the reviews had been better," would say things like, "We wish we had planned development with better a model, and spent more time on the game as a whole." It was "fans" with an axe to grind that killed mass effect. Anyone who thinks otherwise has deluded themselves into thinking that the gaming community is anything but petty and self destructive.
