No More Patches/Content for MEA (Single Player)

I'm guessing they were looking for a certain response/sales figure after they initiated it but probably didn't generate what they wanted.

EA? It's possible they were thinking on DLC till they came to their conclusion now. Is it worth trying DLC with the backlash the game got? Would it come out even and profitable? Could they guarantee it not be launch quality like Andromeda was day one?

thos may be a story that will be revealed down the road.

I wouldn't mind the news about no dlc so much if the game felt finished. Too many loose ends that they clearly meant to tie up with dlc. I miss the days when games were whole at release.

well can't say I'm surprised by this but it still sucks.

As for the novels and comics I'm hoping they can deliver on the answers we want regarding the Quarian Ark, The Benefactor and Jardaan. Too many loose threds to leave hanging.

People liking it is fine, I just personally will not understand "why" cause it's a downgrade to 3 and other horde modes out there.

Well that sucks. This is effectively the second time I've.lived though the death of a beloved franchise. And it sucks too. How good the story was, the characters, the gameplay, the potential for the future and future stories. Something that COULD HAVE been truly magnificent was killed.

Oh well bring on DA 4.

Well, that pretty much settles it. We came to a new galaxy hoping to find something grand only to find less than what we got before. A LOT LESS. If Mass Effect comes back, it needs a new approach. Reboot, remake, re-imagining. Anything so long as the series doesn't have to abide by ME3 or ME:A. Heck, go ahead and make an alternative sequel to ME2. It's GOT to be a better direction than sticking with Andromeda or whatever the heck they were going for on ME3's franchise suicide ending.

Mass Effect Andromeda was an average game. I played it all the way through and I was glad to have someone like Vetra as a companion and love interest. But when you boil it all down, It's highlights were it's faults, the story was impractical even within the universe's own rules and it had no interesting hook to get players invested. The most interesting part of this game's story is when you discover the truth about why the Andromeda initiative was able to happen at all. Rather than use that storyline as the central basis to discovering why you're in Andromeda, it's treated as an optional unlockable that only Ryder will learn about. That was a major misstep. And really, did anyone here think that the whole 'we are explorers going on a one way trip because why not?' was a good enough hook to get fans and new players interested in the game? It's the wrong premise for this franchise.

I just don't get why people waste their money on that bullshit. Especially when the MP is worse then it's predecessor; it's like wasting your money on the lottery.

It's probably like all micro transactions - not that many people do it, but the ones that do, they blow their life savings on it.
