No more ME multiplayers support thread

Do you have any facts besides "This is how I feel about it"?

I hate to break it to you, but the story in Mass Effect 1 and 2 weren't that great either, but I don't think there was multiplayer to be the boogie man of those games.

MP is one of the best things about ME3.

You should be thankful for ME3MP for providing enough money for EA that they were happy enough to give fans another ending.

MP in ME· is awesome, really fun and addictive

MP in MEA is the best part

there will be no SP DLC because the SP story is bad, not because MP

I'm not a fan of multiplayer's integration into the franchise, but I don't really see how it really ruined it either. Take Inquisition. It doesn't factor into anything remotely meaningful in the entirety of the campaign. Just about the only thing that it really affects in SP is the random NPC's that stand out, like these party animals that apparently just came back from an Avvar rave.



I guess one could argue that ME3's crappy Effective Military Strength could be attributed to multiplayer's inclusion so that there was some sort of tie-in that made MP feel like it made a difference, but if I'm perfectly honest, the EMS mechanic would probably have been there regardless. Just about the only thing I feel really affects the franchise in terms of multiplayer is the combat mechanics. But ME3 is a good example of the combat working well - I'd say the best of the trilogy myself. Whatever one can say about MEA's combat gameplay and its strict ability limits, you can't blame multiplayer for that. They could have done exactly what they did with ME3 and keep all of the singleplayer niceties. 

Once again, this misconception rears its ugly head.  Multiplayer does not steal resources!  It's a ridiculous farce created by a fundamental misunderstanding of game development and supported by those who hate multiplayer on principle.  It's not true in any sense.

If there is no multiplayer, there are no multiplayer resources.  When a game adds multiplayer, additional resources are given to create it because it increases the chance of the game selling via the inclusion of the multiplayer-gaming audience.  An example of this would be how some bought Mass Effect 3 solely for the multiplayer.  If multiplayer was suddenly cut, none of its resources would be given to single player content -- it would likely be put into another game entirely.

But... where else could you get one of these?

For the OP, that doesn't really matter: s/he probably feels that, as soon as those extra resources are hired, they should immediately be reallocated to SP or they'll become detrimental to the story. It's a form of entitlement, I think...

It's not down to entitlement, its because the way games are allocated funds is not commonly known among the playerbase. It's lack of information not entitlement.

The way BW/EA allocate funds is a known unknown for all of us. An SP player stating that s/he yet thinks MP resources should have gone to SP nonetheless.., yeah, that classifies as entitlement in my book...
