What would you do with 7 million credits saved? I was waiting for the datamined characters to be released, but it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen all at once in the next few weeks (N7 day?).
I have 14 more UR character unlocks to go to get to XX on all characters and 60-ish UR weapon unlocks (to X), along with a couple hundred rare weapon variants left. I figure with a drop rate between 25%-30%, I can get between 17-21 UR, enough to complete the characters and restart my progress on X maxing my UR weapons.
Or, I can wait and continue to amass credits so that when the datamined characters are released, I can have them at XX before I even play a single level with them.

Given the unknowns, I'd probably just spend it.
By the time they're released, any unlocks will be dedicated to them (or mostly them, plus whatever remaining URs you don't unlock with 7 million.) I'd imagine it will go quickly either way, but in the mean time you wouldn't have to wait for your existing roster to open up even more.
Might as well have the best options available to you now, rather than wait to see what BW will do.

They're all rare and coming one at a time. I've had my rare characters maxed for a while. You'll be able to get them quickly once they're released, and you have a few weeks to stockpile again if you're worried about it.
As for what I would do: I'd probably move on to another game. I'm eyeing destiny 2 pretty hard right now and still have a large backlog.

I'm at almost same situation (but without the spare credits).
If you're in a good place with weapons and characters, you might as well hold for now. As you'll get them (UR's anyway) later when you do spend. But also have chances for the newer characters and weapons.
On the other hand, if you're missing those last cards to run your main (eg for me it was my Kineticist) to bring them to XX rank, then go ahead and spend until you grab it. But I'd still hold some back for later.

I would spend on character-based packs to maximize the UR chars. Then, you can put all freshly earned credits for playing a way smaller pool of the new chars. That way, all you earn gives you exactly what you want right there, right then...

I hate credit savers, it just makes me feel bad about myself. Normally, I buy my packs whenever I earn enough for three to four Reserve packs. I saved this time since we know that there are going to be four rare characters. Figured that I needed at least 5.3 million credits to max the Commando, Juggernaut, Artificer, and Guardian considering a 25% UR drop. Was always envious of people with X or XX cards the day the weapons/characters became available. |

But I'd still hold some back for later. The characters I’ve played the most on Platinum are all at XX (Avenger and Operator), along with the Exemplar and Gladiator. My Kineticist (one of my favorite characters to play before Platinum) is at XVIII and the Duelist is at XVI. BatGuard is at XII, but I’m fine if he took a longer time to XX. I would like to get the Shorty, so I figure once I max the Kineticist and Duelist, I’ll switch over to Arsenal packs. Hopefully, I can get that mythical Hurricane or Rozerad Siphon. Both regular versions are at VII. |

I’m always below 10 of those, compared with hundreds or thousands of Revive, Cobra and Ammo Packs. Buying Supply Packs would also replenish my dwindling supplies of ammo consumables and power efficiency boosters. |

I'm saving up. Every time I open a pack and get nothing but weapon variants I die a little on the inside. All of my UR characters are at X and UR guns don't really see a huge improvement as they're levelled up anyway. IF they decide to drop all four characters at once it will either be next week on the 31st or September 7th. It's not that long to wait. If they only release one than we'll know they plan on continuing the drip feed and can change our course of action accordingly.

I'm saving up and I vote that you do as well. I think I will get more enjoyment out of (almost certainly) unlocking the Rare characters as soon as they drop, rather than further stuff now which would only be incremental improvements to what I already have.

Don't assume you'll be playing it 6 weeks from now because you may not be Seeing that MEA is the only game that I play right now, I'll likely be playing this well after the new characters drop. I have recorded all of my Premium/Arsenal/Reserve/APEX pack openings since the end of March, and I do enjoy recording what I get. Don't like it when I hit the pity timer, but that's RNG. I'd have some good runs (8 UR in 11 packs) and some double pity timer drops (2 UR in 20 packs). |

I saw in your 9000+ Mission Funds post you have over 5 million credits saved. Nice. Another thought was to spend 1 million credits on Reserve packs and save the rest. Figure I would get at least 1 UR and 3+ if I'm lucky. |
