Let's have some fun shall we. Now, this is not about listing the things YOU want, but listing the options you think have the biggest chances of ACTUALLY happening. We all have our wants, but I'm more interested in knowing how good you think the chances are for you to get the LI you want. Share all the details you want, I'll start off with my own prediction.
Straight Female Warrior Elf - Pretty as a picture, a way BW is going to try to cash in on the average gamer. Her being a warrior ensures people won't be up in arms about '' objetification '' or whatever, because she is pretty, yeah, but she also like, knows how to hit things with a sword. There has been a bi female elf, and a lesbian female elf, and with the criticism given to DA:I that '' there are no pretty women in this game '' and '' why is Sera a lesbian, the only hot one is gay ugh, pandering '' is what I think strengthens my prediction.
Bisexual Female Mage Human - A bitch. An ice cold, femme bitch. Morrigan was straight and Vivienne wasn't romanceable (and probably straight). Femdom is pretty popular these days isn't it? And I always see men and women wanting to be stepped on by Vivienne in those '' dirty dragon age confessions '' blogs. So yeah.
Lesbian Female Rogue Qunari - Tal-Vashoth, very anti-qun. The butch LI lesbians have been wanting forever. Probably has like a, mohawk braid thing going on. The whole '' t h i c c '' fad has been going strong since the release of DA:I, so it would be crazy for BW not to cash in on it. Sera was divisive, so I think this gal will be more all around likable, with a less oppressive romance.
Straight Male Mage Human - Some kind of a slick, charistmatic magister who is a ladykiller. The straight Dorian. Probably has some nasty skeletons in his closet. His romance will be all about '' taming a bad boy '' and it will end up with some kind of cliche '' run away with me! '' scenario.
Bisexual Male Warrior Human - The masculine, kinghtly, princely bland KISA. Probably has very little to do with the actual plot of the game and is only there to be the safe romance women can fall into if they think the straight dude is terrible, and to relieve all the blue balls that the homos have had since it was revealed that Cullen doesn't want any homosexual loving. He is going to be meh all around but his romance is going to be sickly sweet so it's okay.
Homosexual Male Rogue Elf - There hasn't been a gay elf yet, so I think it's time sadly. Because Dorian was pretty chummy and approachable and likable, this little twink is going to be more daark and mysteriouuuss and cooold and edgyyyy. Of course, the devs are too afraid to make him too divisive because of the fear of losing fangirls and their gay male loving audience in general, so he'll probably have a big heroic moment where you'll learn that '' oh HE DOES CARE!!! (about me!!!) ''
Alright, those are my predictions. Plz post yours.

Female Dwarven Rogue – I think it was asked, hinted and almost gotten there a few times, and just bound to happen. Qunari Unbound Mage – I’d prefer a male, but BioWARE is more likely to go with a female, because they more often make spirited and/or rebellious companions female & Iron Bull took the male Qunari LI spot, and we had Sten, so there is little chance to get another Qunari male companion, alas.
Tevinter Male Human Templar – a male warrior type with some sort of a dark to light backstory thrown in, they seem to like male characters like that. Now, with humans, the repeats do not bother them.
Seheron Fog Dancer – I assume rogue (or mage?), if they can be elves, then an Elven Male.
Additional human male and human female of some sort, as the First Two Companions. I'd not be surprised if they would come from a familiar backgrounds, like Rivani Pirate (male this time), Antivan Crow (female this time) or Orlais/Ferelden/Kirkwall nobleman/woman.
I'd have preferred to have both male and female Qunari and Dwarves options, but alas, no chances of the cast being weighed towards non-humans.

Awakening is the most diverse cast iirc proportionally.

If we are focusing on romance types we think have an actual chance, rather than personal preference, here would be some of my guesses: -One male and one female Dwarf Companions, both bi so to "make up for lost time". -A bi or pan female Qunari Saarebas, likely an ex-Tamassran. -The Gay Knight In Shining Armor. May or may not be combined with one of the Dwarves. -Maevaris Tilani. -A straight or bi Elven female, since we've never been able to romance an Elven woman as an Elven man. -A human black female to make up for Vivienne's "teasing" . That's all for now .

When I think of characters we already know, I then realize they are romanctically tied to others already.
Calpernia has that boring stoic human ex slave dude. They'd have to officially break up for her to be a romantic option, but it's not like they didn't have Cass way over her mage lover from the Dawn of the Seeker. So, she is likely in spite of this previous connection based on precedence with Cass's romantic history. Although, in Cal's situation, it is VERY recent. Not like Cass's, which was a thing 10+ years before.
Dagna ends up with Sera (when Sera is not romanced), so in spite of her cuteness, I don't think she'll be an available dwarven LI.
Harding is a limited romance, sure, but they aren't broken up with come Trespasser. Probably because folks would have been ticked to have had a relationship they chased end off screen. This problem would still remain in DA4. So, in spite of her cuteness, I don't think she'll be an available dwarven LI.

These are not all ones I wish for, but thinking about past games and where we're going...
A Warden. There has been one in every game, even if one was fake until (optionally) made real. How about a female mage Warden OR an Ex Templar female Warden. Mayhap one from The Last Flight.
An Ambassadoria Dwarf. Probably a male warrior. Likely bisexual so that everyone can finally have a bit of dwarven booty. (not me, I'll pass. MAle dwarves are uber unattractive to me.)
An Elven slave/ex slave/servant turned rebel leader (any class or gender). Rather than a position of subversion (spy) I'd like to see an elf seizing their freedom in a direct way.
A Female Qunari, only available if you help the Qun in some way. Although this would should a rebellious streak that wouldn't bode well long term.

If that happens then there is no problem.

I'm trying to think through all the bases they'd be likely to cover.
Probably Lace Harding. With some kind of dialogue if the Inquisitor made passes.
The Horned Knight. Ticks the "dangerous mysterious man" box, and also owns a forest. I imagine he'd be like the advisor romances in DA:I, since he probably wants to stay in his forest most of the time.
A nonbinary saarebas in good standing with the Qunari. I guess the "in good standing" part would imply their arvaarad was nearby/in the party, but I really doubt anyone would want to romance him.
An ex-tamassran Tal-Vashoth who has some sort of relationship to the saarebas. They can't be siblings (without a very complicated backstory), so maybe the tamassran was the saarebas' tama.
A sylvan. Let it not be said that I dream too small. Could be feminine, because previous sylvans read as masculine. Or could be genderless. Would depend on the underlying spirit.
A grey-haired male keeper. Northern Thedas is obviously a somewhat more dangerous place for him, so I assume he'd be some optional companion picked up along the way. Given the fanbases for Orsino and Ameridan, it's time for someone with their style to be an LI.
Generic human templar #6703. In my heart I'm hoping for a female templar hunter (or even a magekiller), but in my head I know there has to be the standard sword-and-board awkward guy.
They're probably going to stuff way more humans on the list too, because the roster is usually majority human. But dammit, why are we filling romance slots with humans when qunari, spirits, and talking trees exist???

If there isn't a dwarf romance, I riot - no really, it is time for a dwarf to enter the romance stage. Sadly my favorite Varric is proabbly out of the picture for DA4, but I guess the Harding fans can get exited as I am pretty sure, she will be in. As for an elf - I don't think, it will be a warrior, I think, it could be Charter, who I think is rogue? She comes across very rogueish though. Or maybe Tallis? Since DA4 might have the Tevinter-Qunari war as one theme, someone from the Qun will probably join the group and I think, Tallis is a possibility here I would think, a saarebas is very possible too, seeing, how fans are exciting about them since their existing is known. Maybe a Tevinter magister? (apart from the dwarf romance, none of them are my wishes, but I guess, tehy are very likely) arvaarad: as an Orsino fan, I would love the grey haired male keeper, but I don't know, I never thought, that was a thing in the fanbase, but I will gladly be proven wrong here

Assuming DA4 will have the same number of LIs as DAI:
Straight male Straight female Gay male Gay female Bi male Bi female Ace/Demi male Ace/Demi female
And then maybe Maevaris as a 9th option.

Okay, these are my predictions. BioWare loves to trot out the same old sexuality tropes; however, with Gaider gone, we might be able to avert that? Thought Weekes seemed to have a big part in the writing of DAI, so who knows. Lesbian: A rascally rebel Tevinter magister; she's wily and cunning and also slightly unattractive so the straight boys won't be jealous. Bi woman: A cute and feminine human mage, perhaps an apostate; the straight boys can still bang her and this way they don't create a butch f/f character, can't have that, can we?! Straight woman: A templar who is dedicated to her cause, but the wise and all-knowing straight male character can talk her out of her evil ways and bring her to the side of good while giving her the good romancing that she truly deserves. Gay man: We've only had one gay male character so far, and he was basically David Gaider's dream guy and/or self-insert, so *rubs chin* It will have to be someone who won't make the straight girls jealous. Well, they do love stereotypes, so how about the burly and hairy gay man? A grizzled mercenary, perhaps. NO! Better idea; he's a Tal Vashoth who escaped from the qun because they were forcing him to procreate with female qunari or whatever. Bi man: A suave and flirtatious infamous thief who sleeps with anything that moves. Straight man: A hunky Tevinter soldier who rebels against his country's "evilness" or whatever. They love making the sexy soldiers with the heart of gold straight. **buries self in salt**

Too many of these are specific wish lists and fan-ficy. I thought the OP's entire point was to try and guess which kinds of romance have a legitimate chance of being implemented? Not to mention that not every Companion or Advisor will be a Love Interest. Unless you like rushed and shallow ? Yes, no more forced or Deus Ex Machina procreation! Let's have LIs who like and actually want kids !

That would be a pretty short thread. Here, let's get it out of the way. The LI roster will: 1. be over 50% human (one of which is contractually obliged to fill the "awkward inexperienced guy" slot) 2. feature a shifty-eyed apostate with commitment issues 3. include at least one option to marry into royalty 4. offer at least one, and probably several elves 5. contain exactly 0 talking trees Now, considering my repeated wish to passionately burst jars of bees across the heaving blossoms of my sylvan love, this is a sobering list indeed.

Hey, it worked for The Boss, Xena, Aeryn Sun, Mara Jade, Kazumi Kato, and Baldur's Gate's very own Aerie* . Hopefully later you can get a sitter, instead of keeping the baby in your inventory .
*I didn't count Morrigan since Kieran had only just been conceived.
